These types of movies should never be made
3 October 2022
It's 21sr century, and filmakers think it's ok to make this sexualized, fictionalized, pro-life, blaming women type of film? Shame on everyone involved. It's not only degrading to Marilyn, poor soul, but also to all women.

I hope the director and screenwriter do not work in the industry for the rest of their lives. I am not only disappointed but also appalled. It's giving misogynist, sexist, and overall limited. I didn't expect it to be the best movie...but God damn...not this. Never smth like this. Someone should put a ban on any movie about Monroe. She deserves betters, much better than this.

It's 2022 and Ginnifer Goodwin is still the fat woman
15 January 2022
I love TV shows like these, I love Friends, HIMYM, sitcoms, etc., but this is a wasted potential. The over saturated trope where the main characters change their lives after a friend dies is boring. Their stories and lives are different, because a group must have different people with different lives and nothing in common. Not to mention the fact that someone as average as Ginnifer is the fat woman of the group. Writers and casting director need glasses or to enter 2022 already. She's thin in comparison to the average American woman.

This could have been great, but it is mediocre at best.

The Last Duel (2021)

A boring, lengthy mess
1 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was very excited about this movie. It had almost every point on my list. At least one favorite actor? Adam Driver, check. At least one woman who has arguably a big role in the story, Jodie Comer, check. Historic setting and time, check. A great director or producer, Ridley Scott, check. A great plot, in this case, a woman takes revenge on her rapist, check. War or battles, check. A love story that is not the primary plot, check.

Unfortunately, I was still disappointed. I blame the script and the director. The actors were good, surprisingly even Matt Damon, who I thought looked ridiculous in the trailer. But goddammit, it was so boring. The scenes are cut terribly, sometimes at random, 2 people speak, BOOM , a scene from a battle. It was done annoyingly a couple of times.

The dialogues were average. The way they showed the three sides of the story was a good idea, but it was done dreadfully. It dragged for so long, I did not care to see the 2d side, and finally her side. It was obvious she was raped, and mistreated by her husband, but they obviously saw it differently. Her side was not even necessary because I could tell her story even without it.

I did not care who is right and who is wrong, the first guy or the other. I certainly did not care if she wanted sex with Adam Driver's character. At one point, I wanted her to be the villain who manipulated her husband into fighting her lover to get rid of him. This way it would have been at least exciting to see her part of the story.

I liked the fact that she lived happily in the end. But, I do not want to see a long, boring movie, just to see one of the main characters happy.

One Of Us Is Lying (2021–2022)

It deserves a higher rating
20 October 2021
Great combination between the Breakfast Club, Gossip Girls and Pretty Little Liars. Basically, it Breakfast Club with a murder twist, and I love it. No idea why people rate it so low, it deserves at least an average 8. The actors were cast good, it could have been better, but well...they play teens, and I've seen worse.

Kind of surprised by the low stars
17 June 2019
I watched the 1st episode and it immediately caught my interest. FYI I don't really like cop tv shows, or better yet, lost interest about non-stop cop tv shows that are the same, with a classic story line - one bad guy per episode, big boss of the season and life nemesis or problem of the whole show - it's boring and finally, someone did smth different. The female leads are amazing, they're not the best of friends but they protect each other. 2 women trying to fight against the world, each with their problems. It's even more interesting when you find out their backgrounds

I am surprised to see people give it less than a 9
16 November 2018
Many here say it's not original and the story was told many times before and I have serious doubts that they saw it, especially the last episode. The visuals are spot on, nothing reveals any kind of CGI, it looks amazing. The actors were picked brilliantly. i think the star is Shun, the actor is new and I feel he is going to be a big star. Nothing is what it seems, you question everything and everyone. It seems like an old idea but once you progress in the story you understand that this is done very originally, especially the last episode.

Surprised it doesn't have a higher rating
15 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is really good, intense and interesting. The questions you or the characters have are only answering half way through and it works. You form your own opinion based on what the main characters do or see. The cast is perfect, they really do play their roles brilliantly. It's not just a thriller, it's a survival movie, a hint to a love story and a presentation of how the Government lies the general public.

dissapointed

I wanted to see Krasinski as this big CIA agent but I was disappointed how close it is to other tv shows. The most disappointing fact was the stereotype of Muslims being terrorists. I'm sick and tired about this.

Only a hint of Dexter, some House MD, some other medical tv
26 August 2018
I was disappointed that the last tv series with the main actor was cancelled. I thought this will replace it because it's about the same domain. But no. The show throws a bone when the 1st episode is coming to an end but it's stretching aimisly after that. It's not interesting to watch. It doesn't help you solve the case on your own. Things just appear and happen for the main character. There is a daughter but her storyline is unclear and boring. The biggest plus is his love story. I hate tv shows where the main character flirt for 6-8 seasons and only then suddenly understand they're meant for each other. It's a very unrealistic tv show because forensic pathologist does the detective work. Come on, this is so lame. Who on earth will believe that the forensic pathologist is doing the on-field work partnering with the detective or going alone to discover evidence?

I Feel Pretty (2018)

Good movie
2 July 2018
I think those who gave 1-5 starts here are guys who never had problems with their confidence, or girls for that matter. I can't say it is the best movie ever or the best Amy Schumer movie but what I know is that it was cool to watch a movie about myself. I had incredible problems with my self worth and confidence to the point I got depressed. I am now in a better place where I can finally be brave enough to be more social and just have fun. This movie didn't quite get that but in the end it is all about how you perceive yourself. That is the best feature of the movie. Maybe if that movie was done with someone else, it would have worked. Maybe the writers should have not make Renne so obnoxious and overly confident. There is a fine line...no actually, a big difference between being confident and obnoxious. Half of the movie we hate to see the "new" Renne because she acts like she is better than everyone else. I hated that. The writers had a chance to make this role more rich by not making it a stereotype but here we go, another stereotype. Well, we have what we have. At least the end is beautiful. I almost cried during her speech. Every word hit a cord.

Best movie about heists in recent years
23 May 2018
I don't why it has such a low rating but I can honestly say it is both action and survival at its best. I am not easily impressed with action movies, they're full of cliches and explosions. This movie shows same things but combining the other elements I think it's safe to say that they accomplished a lot. The last time I received such pleasure from a movie about heists, I watched Fast and Furious.

Not boring at all
17 May 2018
I understand why people would see it as boring, it has philosophy in it, a depth that not everybody can reach. The actors play their parts magnificat, I was waiting for MacAvoy to do something like this and it wasn't a surprise from Vikander. I loved it and I hope more intelligent people would watch so that the rating will go up but again, it's not for mainstream audiences, they only need obvious entertainment, explosions and action.

A movie about personality disorder that goes to a whole new level
30 April 2017
I always loved movies with personality disorder, multiple personalities etc. None of them were as good as the ones before it. I never thought the director is bad one, even though I disliked the Avatar movie, I enjoyed the rest like the Signs and the Village. The most interesting part is how the actor plays, I think the casting was great and the actor is perfect for the role, you can actually witness the personalities speak to each other and how the body, language, voice etc changes. The end is extraordinary, never expected it. I usually guess the ending of these movies but not this one. This is why i think it's great, you can't see what happens next even though the movie gives you hints. Where you get to the end, you'll be like "oh, that actually makes sense" It's a very interesting thriller with plot twists and the best ending I saw in the last days.

A story about consequences, hard choice and lethal situations where the characters are forced to play life and death in order to have justice or keep their lives.
21 April 2017
I rarely watch detectives but when I encounter a good one I cannot believe how well it is constructed. We definitely need more movies like this. There is a cat and mouse game that unravel plot twists that blow minds. We see how one accident is seen from different perspectives, how the same witness can tell different stories about the same accident. While watching the movie you have no idea who is the guilty one and who is the victim but once the film progresses you understand that there are no victims only guilty people that try to survive. The main character is all of us. Put in a hard situation he acts from passion, takes his decision in a matter of a second. The consequences follow him but he still floats. Or is he? That's the question. I would have given a 10 but I knew what's going on even if they are trying to hide it and boy oh boy, they hide it so well that even I couldn't foreseen the main twist that decides if the main character will get his way or how beautiful people around him manage to counter his decisions. Interesting and chilling, this story gives you an image of how one action can lead to another and brings demise so fast that you can't even see it miles away.

One of the best underrated movies I've seen in a long time.
13 February 2017
Can't believe this movie is so little known. It got so much in it. Enigma, fighting, struggling, surviving, friendship, killing, some kind of detective work, a psychopath, victims, accidents and of course a lot of questions about our characters. It has a plot twist that you wouldn't expect or at least you won't be able to predict it accurately. While watching you're not sure about anything. We get the answer but with it the main character has even bigger problems than the one before Everyone have their own struggles and demons. Most of all people should watching for the twist in the end, you keep questioning everything in the movie and the end is of course worth for an A-class movie. You keep wanting to know more but the movie doesn't answer all the questions. I would watch a sequel to it but it won't be as interesting since we know the reason why we see the main character in the bunker.

Best movie in years
7 May 2016
I saw the movie yesterday and when I decided to look up some information I was shocked to see that this movie was a disaster in theaters and has mixed reviews and not as good rating as I thought. I red a lot of comments, reviews and still don't get it. I waited for this movie in a long time without even knowing it. I never heard of it before yesterday and was skeptical when I found it but after the trailer I said to myself "why not?". I would want to underline the fact that I had 0 info about movie, that includes the part based on true events. If I knew about it I would have had high hopes and never would hesitate to watch it. Usually for me it's the first 10 minutes of the movie that talks to me, I know if the movie is interesting after that time or if I'm going to be bored. Obviously I wasn't disappointing. Once you see this parallel view on the rescue mission, one from the boat where we get to see their side of the story, how they cope with danger, second one how these rescuers decide to go on this suicide mission, you're completely hooked. There is everything, love, courage, honor, cowardness etc. We have heroes that are real, they make us wait in suspense because you know this is just an average man trying to survive or just do his job. I couldn't stop watching, Casey Affleck nailed his role and I fell in love with his character, he is not just a crew member, he is a hero on the background of others. But he doesn't even knows it, he just wants to live, like everybody, the difference is his coolness and patience. I also liked Webber but I had the feeling that he was miscast, Chris was not looking as a humble and average rescuer. The fact that we get 2 heroes in one movie that are so different but still similar gives this movie originality. This is not just a rescue mission, this is about the crew that does everything in their power to survive. I felt like I saw 2 movies in one. One about how the rescue mission was done and other how the crew managed to survive. The only minus that I saw in the movie, it was something that was out of the place. Miriam. I understand that more and more directors want a female character that is somehow daring for her time but it was really unnecessary for this film. I am a feminist and I love a movie with good female character but she was out of her place. And I'm not talking about her proposal or daring look or they way she speaks but the fact that she is given the honor to rescue the rescuers. I mean why would she be the one who does it? It's clear that places like that have lighthouses and it's impossible to have 0 light, complete dark in these situations, why would she had to be the one that gives the light? It kind of seems that the director pushes her in our throats and it's a little annoying. She takes the crown from the heads of those who actually did something. And considering that in the real story she sleeps through the whole thing I would say that the director made a mistake by making a character out of nowhere for no apparent reason but to satisfy the modern society that look for bad ass women.

Amazing action movie
23 January 2016
I rarely watch Asian movies, I made an exception for this one because I liked the description and the poster. I didn't regret watching it. The way the drama/comedy/detective/action is combined is truly amazing. It made me cry a little, laugh a lot, smile and be sad trough the movie. The detective's perseverance and the limits that he pushes makes it a wonderful story. I liked that we get to see a bad ass woman detective in a secondary role that we rarely see in Hollywood, (a thing that is something normal in Asian movies). Also, the fact that the main character was not a martial arts master is a big plus. A truly inspiring family and friends relationships between characters and real life situations is what makes this movie almost a masterpiece. The level of the actors, their playing deserves and Oscar or at least some international appreciation.
