Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" is a visually impressive but narratively average addition to the superhero genre
"Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," the much-anticipated 2023 installment in the Aquaman franchise, is a cinematic journey that, while visually stunning and action-packed, ultimately falls into the realm of average storytelling. Directed by James Wan, the film excels in its underwater world-building, creating breathtaking landscapes and seamlessly integrating CGI to bring Atlantis to life.
One of the movie's strengths lies in its vibrant and dynamic underwater sequences, showcasing the beauty and danger of the ocean depths. The special effects are impressive, offering a visually immersive experience that captivates the audience. Jason Momoa reprises his role as Arthur Curry, bringing charisma and a sense of humor to the character, but even his strong performance can't fully compensate for the film's narrative shortcomings.
The plot of "Lost Kingdom" treads familiar waters, as Arthur faces yet another threat to Atlantis and the surface world. While there are new elements introduced, including the exploration of ancient mysteries and the introduction of new characters, the overall storyline lacks the depth and originality needed to elevate it above mediocrity. The narrative feels formulaic, and certain plot twists may leave viewers with a sense of déjà vu.
Character development, aside from Arthur, takes a backseat, with some new additions feeling underdeveloped and lacking sufficient backstory. The ensemble cast, including Amber Heard as Mera and new faces like Pilou Asbæk, does its best with the material provided, but the script doesn't give them much room to shine.
The pacing of the film is uneven, with moments of intense action followed by slower, exposition-heavy scenes that may leave the audience wishing for a more balanced rhythm. The film's length contributes to this, as some sequences could have been trimmed to create a more streamlined and engaging narrative.
In terms of the soundtrack, the film delivers a fitting score that enhances the underwater atmosphere and complements the action sequences. However, it doesn't stand out as particularly memorable compared to other superhero movie soundtracks.
In conclusion, "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" is a visually impressive but narratively average addition to the superhero genre. While it succeeds in providing entertaining moments and expanding the underwater universe, it falls short of delivering a truly exceptional cinematic experience. With a rating of 6/10, it's a film that may satisfy fans of the genre but leaves room for improvement in terms of storytelling and originality.
The Heavy (2009)
Not a high Five thriller , but still good though
The whole movie is circled around two brothers. Christian Mason , a prime candidate for Prime Minister and the other one ,Mitchell mason , who has been cheated by his own family and sent to jail .
The plot is not that much strong . Still good enough to get poised into it . Vinnie Jones , the detective , was superb . I am huge fan of him .
It is actually about the life of two brothers . Christian was sent to jail because he murdered the man he caught her wife sleeping with . But his own brother stood against him and sent him to jail. And then Christian was bailed from Ranawalt who thereby got him a job which was perfect for him to take a revenge . And in the end , He got it.
The movie was good . i still think that it could have been a little better .
All in all , i would rate it 6.
