ATM (I) (2012)

...in all honesty, ATM had a small chance to be modern day thriller. The actors are decent. They can certainly get into character and that's were it all ends. All logic and common sense goes out the window from the point they reach the ATM, and park 100 damn feet from it. LOL. The thought process these 3 main characters go through trying to escape one man, leads me to believe Poppa Smurf could have held them hostage at Disneyland. Successfully. Forever.

Everything the ATM "stalker villain" does makes sense, because the 3 captives simply have zero.

Watch this flick if you're a fan of "b" movies, or simply bored and want to pick it apart and cringe and a very bad script. Again, I think the writers and directors could have had something, if only they put in a bit more thought. Great idea, horrible execution.

The Hunters (2011)

A Big W.T.F.

Where do I start? I saw the trailer and as a fan of "b-movies" I figured I'd give it shot. The only reason why I watched this clusterfluck all the way through, is so that I'd be justified in writing a fair review. And to be fair, this movie is horrible. Great shots and cool cinematography, and really the acting isn't bad, its the storyline; (insert drum-roll here) there is none. Absolutely none. The synopsis of this film is so inaccurate. Nothing makes any sense.

Where does this movie take place? France? America? Canada? Why does it take 23 minutes to even get an idea of what this movie "might" be about? Don't even think about watching this film high, drunk or on drugs because it will sober you up quick.

To the writer of this film, I wish I had the money you obviously have. I'd take a few wads of hundred dollar bills and smack you in the face with them repeatedly. This has to be the worst b-movie I have ever seen. Watch at your own risk.

Robotropolis (2011)

No-Bot

Easily one of the worst films made in the last decade. If you're able to get past the first 20 minutes of awful acting, you were probably high, drunk or both. I understand this is supposed to be a sci-fi film, but at the very least inject some touches of reality - which this film failed to do. (partial scene spoiler coming up)

I mean honestly, a robot playing soccer gets scolded and head-butt by a human, and the robot shoots him dead. This is all captured live during a broadcast about the robots interacting with humans. Not only do his friends run off, but no one bothers to call the ambulance. When the dead guys friends do come back, instead of calling for help, they start chanting "Nobot! Nobot".Really.

After that poor excuse for a scene in a movie, I just stopped watching. Avoid this garbage.

Red State (2011)

Surprisingly Good!

First, off I'm not familiar with the director or any of his previous work.

I'm a avid movie watcher who rarely gets deep into the filmography of actors and or writers/directors. With non "blockbuster" movies such as "Red State" that have don't have a big budget for promotions, I simply look at the "cover", the trailer, title, and if it looks of interest - I watch it. I watch movies for sheer fun & entertainment value, and to get away for 90 minutes.

That said, the trailer for "Red State" had me scratching my head. Really couldn't fully grasp what it was about even with the synopsis. Decided to watch it, since it was listed under "thriller" and "horror"; 2 genre's that I like. Figured at best it might be an okay B Movie.

All that to say, "Red State" is a bizarre film with some twists. It's surprisingly good for a flick that cant seem to figure out if its a horror film, thriller, gore, or all 3 with religious overtones with a nice splash of dark comedy. Cinematography = good, acting = good, actors = believable.

Speaking of believable, "Red State" and it's plot-line is so "bizarre" (imho), that given the state of the world today (changing norms, technology, politics as usual, etc) this isn't too far fetched from reality. I can see "Red State" gaining a cult following. If I could, I'd give it a 6.5.

Paranoid Activity 2 (2011)

horrible

What can I say about this "movie"? I think it was about a guy who loved to carry his camera around the house, and document packing boxes, and getting stoned. One thing I enjoyed were the women. The main girl and her friend are hot! Certainly eye candy. There was a point where I thought all three would engage in a threesome after smoking that joint. Had I been the boyfriend, I certainly would have given it a shot.

I painted my wall over the weekend, and watching it dry was similar to watching this "movie". If you watch this with a friend, they will never forgive you so I suggest you watch it alone, or better yet just fast forward to the ending credits. Anyone with any sense would simply get out of the dang house once you start seeing things move around.

300 Killers (2010)

Hilariously Bad

Short and to the point; "300 Killers" is a good "bad movie".

Bad acting, bad actors, bad action, bad suspense, bad script (near comical at times), bad dialogue (very comical), horrendous score,...and that's the beauty of it. "300 Killers" is for fans of B-Movies! Period! I enjoy all types of film; indie, from foreign, dramas, comedy on up to commercial blockbusters. Had I come into watching this expecting anything more than what it is, I would have easily given it 1 Star.

I gave it 4.

As a B-movie fan, I found myself rewinding parts, laughing in awe that someone had a budget (and balls) to make this. I swear most of the script and dialogue seems as it were improvised on the spot! (laughing). If you're a film snob, stay away!
