Imagine Me & You (2005)
Chick flick with real laughter
The only reason I give a high mark is because it is such a pleasure to watch. It is easy, (simple-but-original) funny, and...easy. Lena Headey is gorgeous as usual. I wouldn't give a high praise on the acting, but overall it is good. Darren Boyd who plays Cooper is superb with his comedic dialog. It is too bad he has such a small role in the movie, which would have mad it funnier. Everything is very natural without any character trying to be funny or cool.
I never bite the idea of love at first sight or romance or anything. And this movie is certainly not for the story or strong acting. But it is very highly recommended. And did I mention Lena Headey is gorgeous?

Unclear Intention
I am never a big fan of Taiwan movie production as opposed to Korean, Hongkong or even China. Strong acting quality is hardly found in them as clearly shown in this film. I don't consider myself as hard-to-please audience as I am, in fact, a fan of indie movies. However this movie shows weak plot and slow pace. I found myself lost in the middle as to where the plot is going. The acting certainly does not make it better. Rainie's acting is sub par as she 'over-act', trying to be perky and cute. Although I have to admit she is a pleasure to look at. Isabella Leong on the other hand plays a more suitable role as a confused, sad, regretful, extremely reserved character. Overall I find this movie is a disappointment.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (2009)
Ridiculously ridiculous
Went to see the movie with my 12y.o and 9y.o kids. The movie even bored them to tears. Slightly more entertaining for the 12y.o daughter cos she knows couple of hit songs. The storyline is super ridiculous. Chipmunks going to highschool???? Cmon!!! The acting is also bogus. I think its totally pointless of putting big names to voice the chipmunks as it will be altered to high pitch anyway.
The computer graphics and the artists however deserve a recognition. The mimic and movement are superbly rendered. That's probably the only good note about the movie. My suggestion: don't bring above 4.y.o. Better save the money for their college fund.
