The Witcher (2019)
"Strong women and the b*tcher is there too"
This show has so little Witcher in it you could easily believe its Yennefer and Ciri thats the main POV characters, leaving both Geralt and Jaskier there for comic relief.
Most of the series is spent on Yen's characters development or well - spinning her in all shorts of directions often ending up doing the same dumb mistakes out of misguided anger trips, learning nothing amd doing mosft of it again. Somehow everyone miraculously keeps putting up with her betrayish and murderous ways..until the writers gives up and mash the reset button on her making her Ciri's mom and BFF all of the sudden.
Meanwhile we get to see Geralt from time to time cleaning up her mess or getting bossed around for a bit till we skip to Ciri's very important destiny. Some glimpses of the Witcher in those as well as the good supporting character that he is.
We get some very cool scenes with Geralt from time to time to just remind us that he is there, but there is very little monster hunting or focus on Geralt character or motivtions in comparison to the two unanouned main characters and the show really is more a coming of age drama spin-off for those two with a Witcher theme.
Sparks (2013)
Surprisingly good
This is just my two cents and not an attempt at writing a pro review. I was ready for this movie to be a piece of crap, so I got pleasantly surprised. I think the plot was great and the costumes was corny as hell - which threw me off a bit in the beginning (that and the lead up to the main storyline which was confusing as to where we we're going). But it soon became apparent to be that i had stumbled into a old school noir movie which isn't about polished superheroes, but "normal" people trying to make a difference. It still has the usual good vs evil with a hint of romance in it, with a red line that keeps you interested throughout the film. People who say this is the worst crap they have seen must be watching only the best there is. Overall a decent flick.
