Enjoyed but very deep.

We have just watched this film on Sky TV here in England and luckily I had recorded it on my Sky+ box. You may ask why luckily,? well I kept falling asleep as we watched it late into the evening and I was rather tired,so we tried on a second night to finish this gripping movie,I sill kept nodding off and went to bed, so I decided to finish watching it this afternoon. I am so glad that I did because in a rather deep way I was there right to the very end trying to put my own stamp on just what went on before in this mans intriguing past. When the credits rolled I said to my wife well I am no nearer as to what did happen to cause all these video tapes to be sent to their Paris house. So I came on the message boards to see if I had uniquely missed the plot, but no not at all loads of people came to the end thinking was that it,?and it was not until I read some other revues that I got more of an insight into the more subtle workings of this quite bizarre and very powerful film. I am not an educated man but found myself riveted to it the whole way through, thank heavens for my Sky+ box.

Sunnyside Farm (1997– )
Sunnyside farm.

For me this was a must see alternative look at life in the country.! All the characters were larger than life, but as someone who grew up in an English village you could see people that could have fit the bill from your own youth. So it was not "pc" but that can only be a good thing looking back as we have now gone too far with that brigade. And what is wrong with having a good belly laugh,?as most times we are probably laughing at ourselves anyway,as none of us are perfect. I put "Sunnyside farm" in the same pigeonhole as "I Hope it rains" starring the late Tom Bell, this too was a minority audience comedy set at the seaside, with him running a really run down waxworks type museum.

The Black Stuff (1980 TV Movie)
A real treat.
19 September 2004
A group of lads from "Liverpool" travel to "Middlesborough" in their transit van to lay tarmac on the roads of a new estate on "Teeside". Whilst there they get up to all sorts of mayhem, the young lad who is the "teaboy" is told by the older men to put plenty of sugar in the his tea because it will help his sex drive.! Meanwhile the guys have a dream of owning their own tarmac gang, and go off to a local bank to try to borrow the money for this hair brain scheme. As you can imagine all of this dreaming could go belly up, and the sex drive etc could be a "windup". Most of the cast went to on to be big names in "Great Britain",and this is real classic that will make you howl with laughter.
