The Terminal List: The Engram (2022)
Great episode but minor error
No one cared to check with a radiologist or a technichian working for the radiology department.
You are not spouse to have anything reacts to magnits in the MRI room !!!
That would be his alibi.
Irréversible (2002)
She had a pregnant belly in the park
She was shown reading in the park with a pregnant belly.
So if you do the math, it's months later after she was brutally attacked. Almost 99% of all people who watched the movie got hung with how some scenes are too violent, as if it was real !
That made them miss the pregnant belly !!!
So she survived.
I blame the directer of tying to be cool by executing such motion pictures weirdly.
Dragged Across Concrete (2018)
All reviews here are recruited staff to give this movie a bad wrap
Since the movie industry is in shambles because of the pandemic I would like to congratulate all those who were obviously recruited to go online and unjustifiably write the worst reviews on an excellent and really well developed picture, karma do exist and now no one is even out there to hire you or free lance you to do these unethical tasks.
If you noticed all reviews were exactly the same as if the objective in place was distributed in an early morning staff meeting.
Bye bye Hollywood... people are enjoying watching tik tok videos more than visiting these haunted movie theatres.
The Stand In (2020)
A very good Drama / Thriller film...mistakenly categorised a comedy
The bad reviews because the movie is in the comedy category, but if you dismiss that mistake and watch it as a drama / thriller movie it will be very enjoyable. Drew Barrymore was excellent as expected, played two roles.
So if you are gonna watch the movie, I recommend to be mentally prepared for a drama/thriller night.
No jokes or funny scenes, etc.
Serious cast
A high standard Hollywood production, very good dialogue and the director did fairly very good.
And I repeat, Drew Barrymore really did an excellent job here!
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Just perfect
This movie will take you for a ride, hours will pass without noticing.
Rami Malek and Gwilym Lee they both deserve an academy award.
The sequence of events are in a way directed to build up to a theme resulting in an idea, it will be obvious to the receiver, thats the beauty of this film and how the audience become part of that idea. Also the narration how Freddy decided to reshape his life. I agree with that conclusion given how Freddy wrote his will.
Again Rami Malek and Gwilym Lee they both deserve an academy award.
Geostorm (2017)
Our current path of development to the Tesla-world and the conspiracies to destroy it.
Tesla Tesla Tesla
This movie has Elon Musk written all over it.
It's about a space engineer trying to fix a weather-controlling satellite before a massive disaster, the Geostorm, with a pretty big budget, and a great cast, including the well-known guys like Gerald Butler, Ed Harris and Andy Garcia, it succeed to deliver. Ultimately, Geostorm is a solid enough movie, with good directing, great music, good acting, and possibly one of the craziest disaster movies out there.
Gerald Butler is great as the troubled Jake. The crew of the ISS is also great, particularly Alexandra Maria Lara as Commander Ute, Eugenio Derbez as Hernandez, and Amr Waked (who I at first thought it's Antonio Banderas) as Dussette. Ed Harris is amazing as Leonard Dekkom, and Andy Garcia is also very good as President Palma. Jim Sturgess as Max, however is wooden at times, so does Abbie Cornish as Secret Service agent Sarah Wilson, although she did got some bad ass moments which is great.
The movie pushed the boundaries of believability, and presents us with probably one of the most craziest, over-the-top doomsday scenario ever put on film. Frozen on the Afghanistan desert, extreme heat on Hong Kong, and massive tsunami in Dubai is just one of the examples of how over-the-top, but still enjoyable film. It's a solid mark on Devlin's directorial work, and we can expect to see him directing again soon. The story's focus about climate change actually helps in adding tension and kept us imagining what happened if these disasters happened in real life. The humor is also well executed, and worked, especially those who seems to came straight outta a meme("Marry Her!" - the president). The editing is also, very well done. Intense scenes felt very intense. Action scenes felt very exciting, and emotional scenes felt very impactful. They also tried at concealing the plot twist in the movie, and they did very well. The cinematography is good, and the music is also, very good, another remarkable work by Lorne Balfe. What does surprise me is it's political subplot, which actually, a great idea (but leads to one of my gripes with this movie).
Geostorm is insanity at it's finest. The over-the-top plot, along with great cast, good performance and an all-out spectacle of destruction makes it a enjoyable ride from start to finish.
Hamilton: I nationens intresse (2012)
The most reliable narration how war is created nowadays
I've read all the other reviews and I think some other reviewers are speaking about a different film.
This movie was very comfortable to digest.
All of the characters were realistically portrayed . Artistic harmony between acting and script.
This movie is definitely more real and more believable than many other top rated action movies. Maybe "Traitor" (2008) has a close realistic plot. The direction was of high caliber and extremely professional which keeps the viewer engaged . All of the action went off very realistically.
The twists will leave an impression, so be observant while tuning in.
Fruitvale Station (2013)
WHITE 22 year old American kid's tragedy
A strongly pieced together film, with a smooth rhythm and high level of editing, with a well fitted lead performance by Michael B. Jordan and a professional artistic performance by Octavia Spencer.
It doesn't matter whether the film was shot in a studio or in the white house, the matter to the fact is, last ten minutes of this movie is equal to your first conflicted moments of your life, and it hits you like a sucker punch. And at that particular segment is where the director glows with his presentation.
Frankly that WHITE kid should have known better, haven't he heard what happened in Nazi Germany when you question authority.
I felt bad for that dark skinned black cop though, can't we just forgive him, he won't do it again ....promise.
White House Down (2013)
2013 award winning best Film of the year
Fun Fun Fun,
it seems nothing is good enough for these politically biased critics wanna be's, this is an action comedy with a great thrilling ride.
So ignore all this non-sense low rating stuff, cuz it's not truly based on a professional level.
This movie deserve every single cent spent on.
No fake acting, genuine humor from the core of the subject.
Engaging from the very first second , emotions will carry you to the good all days when a action meant something.
in terms of structure, there is good characterization. The plotting is tight. The narrative moves easily. And the mystery of the plot against America is kept well in abeyance, keeping you interested.
You'll see the same fight twice as a result. It should have been in there just once. But I still rate it a 10 because over all it is a great effort. And the special effects are just fabulous.
CGI magnificent in this movie. I felt I was there, totally present at the White House.
As for politics, I like movies that try to make a point, and this one certainly does.
I get the impression that self-hating conservatives have mounted a campaign to score it low on this site, but on ROTTEN TOMATOES, it has gotten a 73% POSITIVE rating.
So, despite the efforts of these type of conservatives to gang up on it, people are liking it--as they should.
It is a good movie, and I'm convinced Channing Tatum has lots of fun, good, action yarns ahead of him.
Just awesome, enjoy...
Haywire (2011)
Like a Lucid dream
"Gina Carano" is the next thing. She proved to be an"A" actress, At least for her first feature film she did an amazing job, and the stunts were also performed by her, absolute perfection.
For all the folks who didn't like the movie or that dedicated actress, I bet you are the type Angelina Julie get sucked in. Oh ya, to you she is more convincing.
"Gina Carano" delivers the kind of feeling you got when you were first introduced to "Bruce Lee", "Van Damme", or whom ever had you engaged in an action flick.
New type of a revolutionary cinematography that is growing under our skin, making the motion picture more convincing and almost real.
Watch "Miss Bala (2011)", which keeps you in the same state of mind due to the way the camera was handled.
The Ledge (2011)
right wing Atheism
I heard of right wing extremist trying to deliver their message from all kind of faiths and ideologies, even seculars were not that cynical and irrational.
Terrible job in trying to pull the logic vs. blindly-following card and portraying it in a movie, in order to pass under our skin a new kind of extremism. Atheist extremist really sounded like a weak illogical believer of any of the faiths that exist when desperately attempting to prove his or her case in a movie, by symbolizing the OPPONENT with a NON REALISTIC CHARACTER. Ironically ending up having an ILLOGICAL MOVIE too !!
Liv Tyler I still think you are one of the best things that ever happened to man kind, great performance in this picture :)
Rampage (2009)
Little bit of logic would do !!
Some movies are done very well but as if the idea came from a communist country where the public was not exposed to advanced technology.
For god sakes when will american movie makers start introducing cell phones in these films, and I mean the way we use them in real life.
Someone is doing something bizarre around town the whole population will get to know about it (text, MMS, SMS).
Cell phones are part of our life and when someone walks in a place to do something bad, police are already notified by dozens of people in the same time!!!! Screen writers give us a freaking break when you write a script, please................
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Robert Downey Jr. shameful performance
Iron man II, that actor (Robert Downey Jr.) couldn't act & as if he was high on drugs or something the whole movie, they packed the movie with different big names and stars hoping to lift some of the heat up caused by the unsettling experience the poor viewer goes through every time Robert Downey Jr. appears on the big screen. He was horrific, it starts the first five minutes through the movie.
Also the incentive triggering the conflict between good and evil presented by the story line was not clear. But thank god the villain (Mickey Rourke) suppose to be the bad guy saved the movie with his performance. What an irony!!??
