Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Absolutely incredible!
I have never waited for a movie with this much excitement and anticipation before!
This film takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride back in time, lifts you up, brings you to tears and at the same time makes you realize this kind if band/character is sadly never to be again. It reaches it's crescendo at Live Aid where the music goes through your chest and Rami's mesmerizing performance (and Martel's mind boggeling Freddie voice) transports you to Wembley where the only Queen worthy of the royal title unites millions of euphoric people once again, in 2018. I was so happy that a new generation will get to learn about Queen as I'm not sure any artist today, or ever, can come anywhere close to them. A success of immense proportions!
Sigur Rós: Inni (2011)
Mind-blowing simplicity
For anyone that's seen Heima, INNI is nothing like it. It's minimalistic, enchanting, a film of simple visuals with inserts from the band's past and it is all about the sound. I recommend seeing it at a theater on a big screen where you will feel like you're in the middle of the most spectacular concert. Your mind zooms out and the loud music takes you on a memory trip and rips your chest apart. It might not be for everyone but the lights and the images are so gripping they'll most probably send you into a trance. Those who won't like it won't finish watching it, however all the people at our theater had their eyes glued to the screen the whole time though. A beautifully done concert film in my opinion.
