Commando (2013)

Mindblowing Action Movie

Commando is mindblowing Action movie - never i seen such an action movie in Bollywood. Hats off to all for providing at last a entertaining high voltage action Movie.

Story - Story is nothing new. Parts of it is inspired by SRK starrer Koyla but action movies were never know for their stories.

Direction - Direction is Decent. Well it cud have been perfect debut but there were certain flaws which cud have been avoided (that villain- heroine song in start was lame and unnecessary)

Music - Music was not upto the mark. No song was memorable and they were positioned at wrong time diluting the pace of movie. Item number featuring Nathalia Kaur was crap

Performances - Vidyut Jamwal is revelation. His acting is okay (need to improve a bit in dialogue delivery) but his action skills are epic. Hats off to him for giving us an action hero after long time. Pooja Chopra is okay (her character was more like Geet from Jab we met) and romance between the lead couple wasn't great. Jaideep Ahlawat gives great performance as villain. Darshan Jariwala shines in special appearance (the way he describes commando is class apart)

Overall, a great action movie and must watch for action junkies

Ra.One (2011)

Super Crap Movie

Ra.One is nonsense movie of the year. What was SRK thinking before signing such mess of a movie ? it is simply ridiculous to see 150 crores being pushed down the drain for this crap.

Story - Ra.one story is absolute nonsense. There is no logic to movie - how ra.one comes out of game etc etc.

Acting - SRK was awful as scientist and in G.one avatar he was bearable. Kareena as usual went over the top. Arjun Rampal carries wooden expressions throughout the movie. the boy who played SRKS son was okay. Rest were okay too

Music - Music was highlight of movie. Chamak Challo was nonsense but Dildaara was good.

Direction - Nothing can be much expected from guy who directed Cash and he lives upto his expectations of making a blunder of movie.

Overall a really awful movie 1/10

Housefull 2 (2012)

Best Comedy (in league of No Entry and Welcome)

Housefull 2 is fantastic comedy movie and Sajid Khan has delivered what he said - a nice entertainer movie. and for those people who call this silly - wake up guys this was meant to be silly and stop expecting every movie to be Kahaani and Paan Singh Tomar.

Direction - Sajid Khan has delivered at last after 2 average efforts in heyy babyy and housefull. The way he gave importance to each character in movie is worth applauding.

Story - Well story is nothing new - typical nonsense but entertaining nonsense not irritating nonsense like ready.

Music - Music is one weak point. Music is good but it couldn't touch high standards of sajid's previous movies and also akshay's last movie desi boyz. Anarkali Disco Chali wasn't that great.

Acting - Akshay Kumar is fantastic in his role as aaeeey sunny. After irritating nonsense in his last movies akshay finally delivered. John surprised with his comedy. Old actors rocked (Mithun, Rishi, Randhir all were fantastic). Boman Irani had small role but he was good too. Heroines were there to add glam quotient only. Ritesh and Shreyas were good too although not their best. Johnny Lever was hilarious especially in climax. Chunky Pandey was good as aakhri pasta. Vindu Dara Singh annoyed.

Overall, A great family entertainer (8/10)

Desi Boyz (2011)

Nice Feel Good Movie

At last akshay kumar got it right :) after series of awful movies (except patiala house) i had lost hope on him but what a nice way to come back with a bang :) Story and Direction - Story is not novel but direction by rohit dhawan is good considering it is his first movie. He has bright future as director.

Performances - Akshay Kumar rocks man ! He has performed exceedingly well - comedy he does good as usual but it is emotional scenes - the one with child where he showcases his ability as actor ! John Abraham does well - although he need to improve his dancing skills which was ordinary ! Deepika Padukone was also good ! Chitrangda strikes in small role ! Anupam Kher was good ! Sanjay Dutt was show stealer - he was brilliant in his cameo ! The child who play Akshay's nephew was cute and did well ! Omi Vaidya irritates a lot ! Music - Music is highlight of the movie ! Desi Boyz title track and Allah Maaf kare are my favorites.

Cinematography was good (locales of UK were beautiful). Editing was good though they could have cut down the court scene in climax which was too lengthy and slightly irritating.

In Other Words, Desi Boyz is no classic but it is feel good movie - a nice entertainer 8/10.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

Huge Disappointment

People had lots of expectations from this movie since its first part was huge hit and received acclaim both critically and commercially. Unfortunately, this film falls way short of expectations.

Direction by Michael Bay is ordinary. Story was also not good. Dialogues were quite cheesy and it had some really ridiculous scenes (Shia Lebouf coming back to life, hot college babe being machine and megan fox coming from nowhere to save Shia LeBouf).

Performance wise, Shia LeBouf was okay nothing great. Megan Fox looks great and is hot but she lacks good acting skills. Rest are okay.

Special Effects were good but we have seen it before.

Overall a really disappointing movie 4/10.

Double Dhamaal (2011)

Rubbish

Double Dhamaal is one of worst movies of 2011. I enjoyed the original but this movie is total torture.

Story - There is total mess of a story. In fact there is no story at all. It is mixture of stupid gags, nonsense and plain nonsense. First half had some scenes that make you laugh but second half is extremely horrible with no logic at all.

Performances - Sanjay Dutt disappoints. The 4 some are okay (well the imitating scenes are more irritating than funny). Mallika Sherawat and Kangana Ranaut are also bad. Kangana Ranaut is most irritating of all actors. Satish Kaushik is great in his small role and his scenes are best in movie. Rest all pass muster.

Music - Music is not up to mark at all. Except Jalebi Bai there is nothing worth remembering.

Double Dhamaal is rubbish movie and i gave it 2/10 only for some funny scenes in first half

Bodyguard (I) (2011)

Huge Disappointment

Before release I had massive expectations from this movie considering it had salman khan who is in golden form, top actress kareena kapoor and hit music ! Bodyguard was huge letdown - as nothing is good in this movie except music ! Performances - Salman Khan is not up to mark in this movie. He was average. Hope he does better in next movie. Kareena Kapoor was okay. Villains were funny than scaring. Rest provide average support except Rajat Rawail who was horrible.

Story, Direction all were pedestrian. Music was highlight of movie.Especially Teri Meri And I Love You song.

Salman is having great run but such movie will hamper his golden run as audiences today are unforgiving if u gave them bad products. Wish best for him in Ek Tha Tiger and Sharekhan and he will come back to form again.

In Other Words, Bodyguard is huge disappointment 3/10

Tees Maar Khan (2010)

One of worst movies of Bollywood

Tees Maar Khan is one of worst movies in history of Bollywood. The movie has plunged Bollywood to all time low. Makers of this movie think they can get away with anything with help of superstar hero and big heroine flashing skin in item song.

Direction By Farah Khan is beyond imagination. It is horrible to say least. Story was copied from Peter Sellers movie After the Fox but i think there is nothing called story in it. it is joke of a movie.

Performances - Akshay Kumar doesn't live up to expectations. He did average job and was too much loud in some scenes. Katrina Kaif is horrible. Akshaye Khanna did well considering his job was to play a loud hero here. Rest were nothing great.

In other words, Tees Maar Khan is super crap movie and deserved to be flopped.

Bhuddah Hoga Tera Baap (2011)

Amitabh saves the day

Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap is an average action movie but it has got one thing which other average movies don't have - the baap of all entertainers.Big B.

Direction by Puri Jagannadh is okay. Story is nothing great. Music is okay.Performance wise,Amitabh rules this movie.He simply rocks man. Hema Malini does great in her role. Sonu Sood looks like son of big b and does well. The two heroines are horrible. Raveena is also horrible. Prakash Raj shines as villain. Rest are okay.

In other words, a average movie which is given life by spirited performance of Big B

Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996)

Best Khiladi Movie Ever

Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi is highly entertaining action movie of 90s. It is one of best action movies from Bollywood.It is no doubt why this movie was among biggest hits of 1990s.

Direction - Umesh Mehra directed this movie extremely well and is among his best works to date.

Story - Story is nothing novel but still it is very entertaining.

Music - Music is good. Hum hai seedhe-saadhe akshay is best of lot.The Song between akshay and rekha is good too but i don't know why many hated the hot scenes. It was needed according to storyline.

Performances - Akshay Kumar rocks as Khiladi. His stunt scenes are highlight of the movie. The ones with Undertaker are classic and will be remembered for long time to come. Rekha is show stealer with her negative performance. She looks ravishing and gorgeous and inspite of the fact that she is quite elder than akshay in age both still make great pair. Raveena Tandon was okay. Due to Rekha's total dominance in movie she was almost sidelined. Rest (Gulshan Grover, Inder Kumar etc) gave good support.

The Highlight of this movie is its mind blowing stunt scenes which were so novel and thats why i rate this movie so highly.

A Great action movie which will be remembered for long time to come.

Aan: Men at Work (2004)

Okay movie

Aan-Men At Work is an average cop movie.It was flop considering there was huge flood of cop movies during 2004.

Direction by Madhur Bhandarkar is not up to the mark. He could have made better cop movie but since producers wanted to commercialize it his direction left lot to be desired.

Performance wise, Akshay Kumar did well although he did such roles before.Sunil Shetty was okay. Lara Dutta and Raveena Tandon were wasted. Shatrughan Sinha was also okay. Paresh Rawal was good. Irrfan Khan was highlight. Jackie Shroff and other villains were okay.

Overall an okay movie which could have been better considering the plot and director it had.

Veer (2010)

Awful Movie

Veer is among the worst movies in History of Indian film industry. What was Anil Sharma thinking when he was making this mess made up with Dharamveer,Mard and Gadar ? Acting - Salman Khan was very disappointing.He was totally miscast as royal warrior. Zarine Khan does okay considering her debut. Sohail Khan is really awful and irritating. Mithun Chakraborty does it well but sometimes he tends to go OTT Jackie Shroff failed to give justice to his role. Other bunch of actors (Neena Gupta,Yuri Suri) were nothing great.

Story - The film really had no story to begin with.It was just mishmash of warrior films from 70s and 80s.

Direction - Direction by Anil Sharma was pathetic.This is not same guy who made highly entertaining Gadar.

Music - Okay (nothing great) but still better than some of crappy music of this age.

Overall - A Pathetic movie.Avoid it all cost.

Trimurti (1995)

Crap movie

This film is among the worst movies ever made in India. Simply shamed to see crap movie with 3 top actors (Jackie Shroff,Anil Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan) with most successful producer (Ghais) and one of most talented directors late Mukul Anand (Hum and Agneepath fame) Direction - awful (He has forgotten to say cut to scenes in this film and that's why many behind the scene things can be seen) Acting - Priya Tendulkar did her part well,lead actors will lament themselves for acting in this junk,actresses were totally unnecessary. Mohan Agashe tried to be menacing as great villain Amrish Puri but failed badly Songs - OK In and all a must avoid movie at all cost.
