Was very impressed with this Swedish crime thriller. It has great atmosphere, backed up with an intelligent soundtrack and excellent camera shots.
The acting is exceptional, from the children through to the main two leads who have great chemistry. All players lend a wonderful cohesion to the flow of the narrative. A really intelligent story line that cleverly carries the thread of action, interaction and sense of what's next through to the end.
European crime thrillers like this seem to be light years ahead of what we see produced for North American screens.Certainly they have a more emotional depth ,this one has a more nuanced repertoire. In addition Europeans seem to be able to deal with certain subject matter,in this case being gay, with an understanding and acceptance that is seems to be beyond us here in North America.
This season one really impressed,lots of great acting,camera angles, and making me really look forward to season two.

Interesting to read some of the reviews of this show.Personally I find it a very entertaining,very watchable show, certainly not slow, and as one reviewer commented its nothing but sex,sex, sex! I think he completely misses the point of what the the writers and producers of this show have given us. I find the show has a wonderful sense of time and place, like Maupins Tales of the City which was so evocative of San Francisco in the seventies, the TV shows from those books were also great,this new show is expressive not just of present day gay life San Francisco,but of many cities in North America. Its a funny,heartwarming and very real series,reflective of many sides of peoples lives, and insightful as to how many of us think and behave. I find the dialogue extremely effective, the acting A1, and am happy to see that there will be a season two. Keep it going!!!

This truly is an undiscovered Italian masterpiece.For anyone who really appreciates L'Avventura, this is as evocative and deeply understated in similar ways. The relationship between the three main players, all lonely and distant,hints at possibilities that are subtle and multi layered. Set in Capri, which itself is really one of the most beautiful spots on our planet,it is even more interesting because it is set in off season Capri,when all tourists have vacated the island,which makes it even more hauntingly beautiful.The cinematography and is really quiet beautiful with much thought obviously been given to camera angles. As the previous reviewer has stated such a shame when so many mediocre movies are released ,its truly amazing this gem has not been released on DVD or Blu Ray.....but one lives in hope, over the years many of my favourites seem to eventually come out, so lets see.

This really is one of those incredibly exciting caper movies of the 60's and it really is sad that it is not on DVD. Melina Mercouri, a total woman in every sense, exuded sex appeal and charm in a way that few others ever have. All the cast were great and how many know that this is the movie where Strangers in the Night was first heard, a big hit for Frank Sinatra. The European locations were wonderfully atmospheric, and also James Garner in the lead role, so perfectly cast .Sandra Dee and Anthony Franciosa, now both departed added to the confusion and fun of this absolutely delightful movie. The pace never lets up, and whilst James Garner is still with us , would be great to hear his views on working with the other cast members. Lets get this out on DVD!!!
