More Rank than Mank

Great movie for insomnia sufferers. You'll be asleep in no time. I hate it when you look forward to a movie and this happens. How in heavens name did someone put up money for this. The director should read William Goldmans books before picking up a camera again. I had to give a star as your not allowed to give none.

Complete tosh. What does it tell you when the audience is praying for the film to end so we can all go home. What idiot gave this the green light I'll never know. Daniel Craig will be mortified when he looks back on this. His best friend must bite the bullet and tell him man to man that he's made a fool of himself. His Fohorn Leghorn accent is just cringing. Dear film buffs save your money.

Bad
22 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Dreadful film. After reading a lot of negative reviews I just had to go to see for myself. I mean Ridley Scott was directing so what could go wrong. Well just about everything. Why is it in every film nowadays the same cliche's occur. A scouting party goes out to explore a new planet to see if it could be habitable. One of them says "I have to go and take a leak" and you know right away that something bad is going to happen. Surely there must be screenwriters in Hollywood that can pen something original and surprise us. You will also fall asleep at all the boring scenes full of gobbledegook. Scott should be ashamed of himself. I despair.

Sneaky Pete (2015–2019)

Totally disappointed
1 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I feel let down by the whole show. The plot is preposterous. There are bigger holes than the Grand Canyon (I'm not exaggerating) We are made to believe that a young woman in between running a household full of kids grandparents and siblings is a bounty hunter for her grannies bail bond agency.(Yes. Her Grannies)Pete turns up at the front door and says " Hi. I'm Pete, your grandson that you haven't seen in twenty years", to which they say. " Come in Pete and have a glass of lemonade", without querying it as he looks totally different from the real Pete. Giovanni Ribisi is miscast as the hero and Cranston is terrible The biggest fault with the show is you just don't care for any of the characters. Definitely not going to sneak a look at any more episodes

Woman in Drudgery more like
18 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
To me this movie must be the first of the "kitchen sink" dramas of post war Britain as it came out in the fifties, long before the sixties made the genre popular. Woman in a Dressing Gown has been described by film historian Jeffrey Richards as "a Brief Encounter of the council flats", taking the scenario of a extra-marital affair and relocating to a less middle-class setting. However, writer Ted Willis described it more simply, as a film about " good honest fumbling people, caught up in tiny tragedies". As its female-focused title suggests, the film spends a lot of time on Amy, the wife whose devastated when her husband asks for a divorce. She gives it the works as the drudge who fights to rekindle the affection of her husband. There's a great bit when her new hairdo gets ruined by the rain, but it's heavy weather throughout. Amy is anything but the model '50s housewife: she burns food, never finishes the housework, always has the radio on too loud, and rarely has time to get dressed properly. But the film allows us to see reasons why she might have become that way (grief, loneliness, boredom) rather than simply demonising her. Do not watch this film if your at a low and feeling depressed as it will definitely not help. Yvonne Mitchells bravura performance won her the Berlin Film Festival's Silver Bear award for best actress

Town on Trial (1957)

Good old Johnny Mills
4 February 2003
Having been stuck in the house on a cold winter afternoon I switched on Channel 4 to view their afternoon film Town on Trial and am I glad I did This is a hidden gem of a movie. It will keep you guessing right up to the end who the murderer is. Try and spot Dandy Nichols in a bit part(this is what I love about these old fifties films, spotting actors who go on to greater things) If you can get a copy to rent you will not be disappointed. I give it nine out of ten

Monotony by numbers

This is the worst movie I have seen so far this year. The only good thing about my waste of rental money is whatever I rent in the future cannot possibly be as bad. I think Sandra Bullock must have been hypnotised as no normal actress would appear in such utter garbage. Studios should be taken to court and fined for inflicting this dirge on people
