Not impressive

I haven't read the novella so I can't comment on that but movie is terrible. First 20 minutes may have you attention but then it become laborious.

Everybody on the team of this movie looked confused to me. Direction was bad, acting was ok but not outstanding.

I wish I would have ignored it. I didn't but you can.

Black and Blue (I) (2019)

Could be much better

A rookie Naomie Harris patrol her childhood neighborhood and events starts unfolding. Another look into corrupt cops underworld.

This story had lot of potentials and could be made into great thriller but director definitely missed this opportunity. Pace of the movie was OK but it missed thrill.

Naomie Harris was definitely mis-casted. I didn't like how she speak. Her acting was poor. Tyrese Gibson and Frank Grillo(this guy is around 60 but looks 30) were perfect.

Good for one time watch. Nothing memorable. You can easily miss this title if you want to without any regrets.

Kimi (2022)

Total waste of time

Synopsis of movie on IMDB looked very promising but actual movie is very bad.

No depth in story. Very predictable. No proper casting and acting was also substandard.

I hardly finished this movie. I totally not recommend this torture. I have wasted my time so I don't want you to do so.

RRR (2022)

Cinematica pinnacle

S. S. Rajamouli really knows how to make an entertaining movie and he is one of best directors alive in my opinion. Somebody said, seeing is believing so you have to see it to believe on what I am saying.

Fantastic mix of Visuals and BGM. Lots of stunning scenes. A solid entertainment for 3 hours. Entertainment out and out.

Everything was perfect although story was very shallow but still it doesn't effect the film.

A must watch.

Anek (2022)

Anubhav's weak film

Anubhav is very skilled in his craft and gave us some brilliant pictures to watch but I think this one is his weakest film so far. Story had the potential but director's was unable to exploit it fully.

This film was watchable because of one guy and that is Ayushmann Khurrana. He is one of my favorite actors and my opinion could be bias but I would not be able to go beyond 15 minutes of this movie if there wouldn't have been him.

Director tried to deliver some good message but message was lost in translation. Anyway, good for one time watch.

Forensic (2022)

Some real goosebumps

First of all I admit that this movie gave me some goosebumps. Now coming back to movie, its a packed mystery, crime thriller with some solid story and acting.

Movie is quite well written. Well selected location that is helping the story. Its a mystery then naturally you are expect some twists and good news is you are going to get some really good twists.

Vikrant Massey, Vindu and. Radhika Apte done pretty decent job but Rohit Roy was not good at all.

I recommend it for rainy night. You will get scares, goosebumps and it will keep you guessing and believe me you won't be able guess end correctly.

Writing could be better but rest is all OK. Specially I am always impressed with Abhay Deol's acting. He do it so effortlessly. Its mind blowing. I would like to see him in more movies.

I can't believe Nicole Kidman could be so old and ugly....hahaha.

Pretty well written but I guess editing is flawed. You lose interest in film few time during watch. Time can be reduced by 8-12 minutes.

Nicole acted very well and this film shows she can act for coming 20 years. Sebastian Stan, I don't whats the problem with guy. He act and look same in every movie. He doesn't has any variety or he should be experimenting. I think he is typecast.

Good for one time watch.

Runway 34 (2022)

Well acted stylish drama

Ajay Devgan's second direction, actually I though its Ajay's first director but IMDB says he directed another movie quite a while ago and unfortunately or fortunately I didn't see it. So I can't comment on it but in Runway 34, Ajay done pretty good job as director. I think he is successful in telling his story to audiences.

Look of the movie is very stylish. BGM is on the spot. Costume is perfect and dialogues are fantastic. So overall its a good effort and Ajay was quite successful in creating thrill that one should be looking for in such movies.

Ajay and Big B done fantastic acting but Rakul Preet was below par. Anyway Ajay and Big B are enough to pull it off.

I recommend this movie. Its a packed thriller and drama specially first half is edge of your seat.

Kaun Pravin Tambe? (2022)

Well knitted

Very inspirational and very motivational true account a cricket player who refused to give up. I always say reality is stranger than fiction and people like Pravin Tambe are great example of it. These real characters really inspires you.

Coming to movie, its very well knitted. Good writing, good acting and overall good direction. There are no big loop holes in the film.

Very enjoyable and very inspirational film that everyone can enjoy. I recommend this film to younger lot specially. Watch and learn, how life should be lived.

Hotel Mumbai (2018)

Looks more legit

So far best movie about Mumbai attacks. Well research and well made. Characters look very genuine and sets are petty genuine.

Well acted, well directed and well researched. Pace of the film is pretty good. It won't bore you or atleast it didn't bore me even not for couple of minutes.

I won't say you will enjoy watching this movie as its depiction of true tragic events but its a must watch.

Thar (2022)

Better than expected

I started watching this movie with very low expectations as I declared Harshvardhan Kapoor a failed actor after watching Mirzaya. But against my expected this film come up pretty good. Father son duo produced this film as I am sure no one wants to take Anil's talented son in their movies so only option left is to do home production and try to relaunch lad.

This is genuine Neo-nior. Film's overall setting is brilliant. Beautiful location and it actually give you feeling of 1985. Overall pace of the movie is good. Although story has no great depth but director has done brilliant. Harshvardhan looks good and Anil was best. Harshvardhan can become good character actor and I give full marks to casting director.

You can watch this movie anytime and you'll definitely enjoy this movie if you are dark themed,medium paced neo-noirs fan like me.

Dasvi (2022)

Abhishek delivered the punch

A good movie with good social message. I don't know what critics say about this film but so me, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Although it has its down sides but it has mass appeal and anyone can enjoy it anytime.

Debutante director Tushar really done good job. Although writing was not up to par but it still do the work. Casting was great specially Nimrat, Manu Rishi, Chittaranjan and others but I think. Yami Gautam is mis-casted. She is too soft to perform tough cop. She tried her best but it was not her cup of tea, in my opnion. You can always differ.

Abhishek.delivered the punch. Yes! He did. Fantastic acting, fantastic onscreen appearance, perfect costume. This guy has really improved over the time.

This is full time family feature and you can enjoy it your family. Very clean family comedy with powerful social message. I recommend it.

Raat Akeli Hai (2020)

A good Hindi Neo-noir

Usually you will not find much audience of Neo-noirs in Hindi cinema thats why a very few are produced in Bollywood. Mostly new writer and directors try this genre as Neo-noirs won't need big budgets and mostly this genre rely on good writing, direction and acting. And because of aforementioned ingredients, its very hard to make good Neo-noir.

Coming to this movie, its director's debut although he has worked as casting director with Bollywood bigshots. And director has done justice to his job. Story and screenplay was good too. It was hard to predict the plot. Overall setup of the film was good and done justice to murder mystery.

Acting is the high point of this film. Apte, Aditya Srivastav and even Dhulia has done good job. As director was a casting director before so you won't complaint about acting of even the smallest character of the movie. Although, Nawazuddin was rightly selected for this movie but I find his acting very repetitive (its my personal view, you can disagree of course ).

Overall its a must watch. Its gripping, dark and hard to predict. It will keep you busy in guessing.

Halahal (2020)

Absolute waste of time

Based.on true story and could be made into a wonderful movie but because of bad writing, direction and acting whole thing went down the drain.

Even the casting director haven't done his work properly. All the small characters are too bad actors as well. Barun Sobti was unbearable. With this height, voice and physique, how come someone can cast him as a macho police officer(I couldn't figure out from which side he looks like a police officer) even if we put his acting on side for the moment. He could pull his role if he would has been a good actor but.he is a terrible actor as well. His voice is very thin and has no effect.

Sachin Khedekar has done little justice to his role, rest of the cast was just awful.

Screen play was bad and so was direction. I recommend you to not watch this film.

Sabotage (2014)

Useless waste of time

I am very disappointed with this movie. After ready plot summary on IMDb, my feeling was that at least this film will have lots of action, gun fight, blasts and smoke. So that intuition compelled me to watch this movie. But I was really disappointed with it.

Taking about its story, yes its mystery but predictable. Yet it was little bit decent and could be made into great movie if laid down intelligently with good direction and acting. But here, it will make you bore.

Acting was well below standards, specially Arnold was looking awful. He looks too old and physically challenged type. he can't even walk properly and yet producers put him in this movie.

Direction was also not good. Very little action and that was also of mediocre level. Movie is not well edited. Some scenes look inconsistent.

All in all it was great waste of time and money, so don't watch this film specially if you are Arnold's fan because you will be greatly disappointed.

RoboCop (2014)

Don't expect much

Robocop didn't live up to my expectation. I was hoping for lots of good action and some thrilling story but unfortunately title in review lacks both. Movie starts well but loose it all in 20 minutes. Story has lot of holes and pace is also slow as compare to other movies of same genre. Normally action movies don't have complex stories but Robocop story it too shallow. Direction is OK but nothing special.

Acting wise, this is OK film but Michael Keaton and Gary Oldman is standing out in this department. Rest look like just to fill space. Action stunt wise, there was nothing special at all, although I was hoping for something good because budget of film is 130 Mil. I don't know where they have spent all this money.

Its a very mediocre film. Nothing memorable in it. Its OK for one time watch but its absolutely OK if you let it pass. You will miss nothing.

Passion (2012)

De Palma is Dead

I have seen original film when it was released and was eagerly waiting for this remake since I got the new. I would say there you can not compare both at all. Original movie is perfect in all senses. Its story, acting, direction, lighting everything make sense but this remake is absolute crap. De Palma was once master of this genre and I am his real fan but his age got him now. Since last 12-15 years, he failed to produce any quality work and I think he is still living in old says but cinema out here changed substantially. He is proving himself bigger loser with his each new film. So I think its time for retirement Mr. De Palma. Movies don't seem like your cup of tea.

Title in review is just waste of time. You will see no talent in it. You might enjoy it a little bit IF you didn't original one. All good review about this are from those didn't see original. The have changed ending but it made this look even more stupider. Back ground score was another absolute junk.

Without wasting further time, whoever is reading this review I suggest him not to watch this crap at all. Its absolute waste of time instead go for original one. Also Mr. De Palma please stop making movies, you're wasting time and money, instead start watching latest movies I am sure you will enjoy modern cinema.

The Conjuring (2013)

True Story...Really!

It's hard for me to believe that its True Story. I think only names are real but rest is just made up story. Although film is great and has everything which one good horror film should have.

Story is well written(other than point I mentioned above. All parts of story are well connected. You will see no major loop hole in it. Direction is very great and everything is well placed that why this film quite stand out when the market is flooded with horror movies. One thing I must mentioned is, it's great editing and well placed sound effects will give you lots of goose bumps for sure as I experienced a lot myself. As their is not margin of acting in Action and horror films but actors have tried well in this respect and their performance is mush better comparatively.

All in all its thoroughly a horror movie. It has all the things which a good horror movie should have. Best thing is, I can easily be recommended to anybody not necessarily a horror lover. And anyone can enjoy it. Lots of shocks and goose bumps so its must watch on any ordinary day but weak heart people avoid it in dark, rainy night with their room lights off...specially if they are alone.

Jai Ho (2014)

Not very well connected

Another Salman Khan's home production. Expectations were high as they should be specially after milestone set by Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express and Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 but film didn't live up to audience expectation as a result done poor on box office. A disappointment for Khan and his fans.

Movie starts very well but after 20 minutes everything starts messing up. Story is not well developed and didn't connect. It seems that Villain is pushed in the film just to fill the space. Although Danny is my favorite side actor and he is very powerful actor, never fall to make impression but here hs looks totally at loss.

There was no fun in the movie and entertainment is totally missing which is trademark of Salman Khan's films. Absence of fun and entertainment made movie very dry and hard to digest.

I'll blame poor story and bad direction for the failure of film. Salman done good job. Heroin was stuffed like Villain and didn't make any impression. She was a miss-fire.

Overall its not a entertaining film but OK for one time watch but don't expect much from it.

Gravity (2013)

Best movie of 2013 : Only watch in 3D

Yes definitely its the best movie of 2013. Best thing about this movie is that it well defined use of 3D technology and this technology in its original spirit. And also gave shut-up call to its critics. In my opinion 3D technology is wonderful for visualization but if used properly.

Plot is very simple and straight forward, nothing complex. Its a simple survival story. Director has done great job. Placed each piece at its right place. Theme is very well chosen. Like space which is lonely place, movie also has no crowd at all. Movie is well edited. Background score was great and well appreciated as well.

Sandra and George has done great job specially Sandra put life to her character. There is no one else to discuss :) Final words are that, if you really want to enjoy this film truly, watch it in 3D. It will be a life time experience for you. Thats my guarantee. This movie is very "To the point", not a single irrelevant frame include so no question of getting bore at any point. Full joy ride for 90 odd minutes and explore new dimensions of 3D entertainment.

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

Don't watch 3D Version

First part was much better than this one. Title in review has quite weak plot and above all it lacks emotional intensity and thrill which first part had. Because of shallow plot, this movie will fail to take you along. In these kind of movies Villains are very powerful and invincible. But heroes look for out of the box solutions to get them down but in this movie Villain character is very weak and is without any convention. Villain doesn't look intelligent and dangerous to me. He was just a villain to fill space. Good news is there are 2-3 laughs as well though I didn't laugh as I found them not very laughable.

Direction was OK. Acting was good as normally is in these kind of Films. Portman was bit better. This movie has high production value. Lot of effort and money used in creating stunning visual effects.

So my suggestion to readers is that "Don't watch it in 3D" specially if you have watched Gravity in 3D recently. You will feel very bad like me. And will curse 3D technology which I think is mind blowing if used properly.

Its OK for one time watch but nothing memorable.

Mickey Virus (2013)

Quite Entertaining

This movie exceeded my expectations as I was not expecting to be so entertaining. Its director's debut film and he had really done a good job. Story was very well written. There were very few goofs which are certainly difficult to notice. Few holes in plot but not very deep.

Target audience of the film is below 30's so director has used all flashes and masala which mentioned age group likes. Acting was slightly at low end. Manish Paul acting was not up to the mark. Same is with true with most of actors in this film. But Manish Chaudhary and Varun Badola both have done great job.

Music and songs are good and it will not annoy you or distract you while watching this film.

Its a packed mystery/thriller from start to end. Once started, you will ignore all calls of nature or have to ignore calls of nature till the end. If you don't trust me then watch it and find yourself what I mean. Seriously its a FANTASTIC thriller and great time passer.

Out of Time (I) (2003)

Heart stopping Thriller but after first 35 minutes

Its a treat. If you survive first 35 minutes then you are on joy ride in front row of roller coaster. Its written very well. Director has done great job but after first 35 minutes. But in first 35 minutes, I think they have wasted much time in trying to build story and if you are watching this movie like me on DVD, you will be cursing yourself and thinking about ejecting DVD at any minute. Thats one weak point of-course in my point of view.

Denzel is great actor and he acted very well. Eva was good but Sanaa Lathan was OK. Last but not the least "John Billingsley", he justified his role.

Last words, very gripping, heart throbbing and intense thriller and you will not feel like "Out of time" while watching this movie.

Ghanchakkar (2013)

Seriously Under-rated

This movie is not as bad as its reviews are. In fact, it very refreshing comedy/thriller. I think audience and critics didn't take it in its spirit or its ahead of its time. Any person can enjoy it at any time.

Story is very well written. There are no big loopholes in it. Director has done a great job. Though plot was very small but they spread it very well over 2 hours. Acting wise, Emraan has done a great job. I am and never was a great fan of his acting skills but he proved in this movie that he is great actor and you will love watching him. Vidya is miss-cast in my view. Though she is great actor but I think makers of this movie picked her because of her success streak. Otherwise a pure Punjabi actress would do much better job and brought more reality, particular culture and ascent in this role. Even Juhi Chawal despite her age was better choice than Vidya.

All in all, its a must watch. Its little bit experimental film but its very easy to digest. One thing I'll must say that it will glue you to your seat till the end though you might feel little boring at some instances. But you'll not regret watching it.
