Made for Love (2021–2022)
3/10
Modern stupidity at its height
11 February 2024
Ah, behold "Made For Love", a series that beckons with promises of intrigue and mystery right from the get-go. It's as if the protagonist's peculiar appearance is a harbinger of the bizarre journey ahead. Yet, brace yourself, for what unfolds is a tale so profoundly absurd, it feels like the brainchild of virtual moronic sex-obsessed high school students.

Prepare to delve into a world where naivety dances hand in hand with sheer idiocy, where a programming whiz finds himself entangled in a web of psychopathy with his utterly peculiar spouse. It's a spectacle that vividly illustrates the twisted machinations of a deranged generation seemingly adrift in the abyss of their own distorted fantasies.

I could not watch the full first disturbing episode, unable to endure the sheer discomfort it provoked.. But this series is a very good starting point for a new current and a new era in "modernistic" films.

Destroyed by the bombs
6 November 2023
This could have been a wonderful series. Often entertaining, often funny, with frequent smart dialogues and a quantity of drama... But all of these goodies are terminated by the enormous amount of F-bombs and SH-bombs. It is a fireworks of dirty language and it sounds even more nauseating when women use it.

It could have been a very nice family show, the industry doesn't produce such series any more. Everything is now about speaking dirty like the lowest mobster.

You kinda feel frustrated that the entertainment industry seems to have lost sight of what makes a truly great show. You were hoping for a nice family show that everyone could enjoy, but instead, it seems like the focus is on using dirty language to appeal to the lowest common denominator. It's disappointing that the creators and actors are relying on such cheap tricks instead of genuine creativity and talent.

It's understandable that one feels let down by a show that had so much potential, only to be ruined by profanity.

So Dumb
31 October 2023
I had the grand idea of jumping on the hype train and checking out this series. But, oh boy, within a mere 140 seconds, I was ready to throw in the towel. You know what did it? The audacious, brain-boggling, utterly ludicrous space explosion (or should I say expulsion?) sound that defies the laws of physics (acoustics). And then there's the cherry on top - the android voices! They sounded like they were pulled straight from a kindergarten class, or maybe the creators missed the memo on Siri? It's 2020, people, and yet, here we are, with a show that seems to revel in its sheer audacity. Bravo, makers, bravo!

An entertaining exception in a world full of F-bombs
3 March 2023
"Enola Holmes 2" is a sequel that manages to live up to the standard set by its predecessor. Although it may not be a cinematic masterpiece, it provides a fun and engaging experience for the whole family, making it a perfect choice for a cozy movie night, in these times when such films are fewer and fewer and packed with F-bombs. While there are some missteps, such as the bad choice for Moriarty, the film manages to hold its own and keep the audience entertained. With a nimble pace and witty dialogue, "Enola Holmes 2" is an amusing and enjoyable adventure that is sure to capture your attention.

Terrible false "parody" * Stupid and filthy
6 February 2023
Dubbed as a "parody comedy", it is kinda parody, but absolutely no comedy. Even if the Americans had Romanian consultants. A lot of things are very wrong. The video format of a 1983 Romanian TV series couldn't have been 16:9. Then the amount of foul language that moron filthy Tatum seems to enjoy so much, was absolutely forbidden. Not even the American films of that era were filled with such an amount of garbage talk as today.

Also, the ideological references are out of place and sound more like North Korea than Romania. The Romanian society and most of the Communist Eastern Europe were relaxed ideologically. No one believed in communism any more, it was just to be "politically correct". And a lot of people were wearing jeans and watching American films in improvised night video sessions at somebody's home. Of course, the authorities did not care about that.

Most of the Romanian titles and credits contain a lot of errors. They might have used an early version of Google Translate.

This series is stupid and filthy.

Rise of Empires: Ottoman: Destiny (2022)
Season 2, Episode 6

Not even the Turkish Wikipedia is so biased
30 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Although this series is meant to represent the historical truth, the night attack of Targoviste is falsely presented. Vlad didn't meet his brother Radu in that tent. Still Vlad got the sultan's tent wrong. He reached the viziers' tent. Also there is no record of a direct fight between Mehmet and Vlad, but there are stories about the sultan being terrified and planning to flee the camp. All the Turks were terrified, still Vlad's attack wasn't strong enough. Mehmet's tactics wasn't so clever as it was presented.

For several months Vlad and Radu fought to attract the Romanian boyars on their side. The boyars chose Radu for his promise of peace. 5 months after the night attack Vlad went to Transylvania and the immature king Mathias chose to imprison Vlad for 12 years.

The series refers to the second rule of Vlad over Valahia. His first and third were very short. His third rule lasted for several months and he died in a battle against his rival Basarab Laiota. That's how his head got to the sultan's court.

Vlad wasn't the first impaler
9 January 2023
Although this series (including the first season) wants to be accurate there are a lot of important "details" that were missed. In this first episode of the second season one of the major misses is the image of Vlad as a master-impaler. Although that was his preferred method of execution, impaling was not his invention. It had existed for a long time and he learned of it during his detention at the Turkish court. The Ottomans performed that commonly and it was present even on the seige of Constantinople. Not even they invented impalement, but it came from the fogs of history. Even in Western Europe impalement was occasionally performed in Germany 200 years after Vlad Tepes.

Don't Look Up (2021)
8/10
Fundamental to watch to understand today's world
3 August 2022
Although it had some box-office success, this film soon went to oblivion. Short-lived like most of the cinema hits. However, this is that kind of a film that had to stick in the collective memory, for it deals with the horrible wrong ways modern society has chosen.

It's about how the world stopped thinking about serious things and now everything must be "fun and cool". A comet is about to destroy the Earth and the entire society is either looking for the fun part or is not interested at all. People in various decision positions, all kinds of influencers become delirious and cannot feel the big problem.

The "Just look up" slogan is stupidly "democratically" counteracted by the "Don't look up" one. It demonstrates today's wide appetite to contradiction just for the fun of contradiction and not understanding the potentially dangerous outcome. Facebook at its height.

Although not really a cinema masterpiece, it is a fundamental film for the present culture. Compulsory to watch. And maybe re-watch. To understand that we live in a world dominated by the delusional MTV Generation and there is nothing more that can fix that.

Dubbed as a "comedy", it has its funny moments, but it is basically a well-done acidic satire.

Don't look up, don't try to evolve spiritually, but keep on looking at your phone to become an annihilated person.

Psychopaths and F-bombs
15 July 2022
A messy film with a couple of psychopaths using F-bombs excessively. So they appear cool to similar morons. Yes, even the child is swearing.

Chaotic scenes suggesting a Facebook incoherent moronic environment. Ugly people, ugly souls.

This is where humor is infected with foul language and imagery
30 June 2022
I watched a number of seasons of it and sensed an appearance of intelligence. However, season after season it got more and more annoying because of the foul language and imagery brought by the participants to the show. It has turned into mind garbage and filth to the point that it felt entertaining no more. So I have abandoned it. Too bad filth has grown so much on TV shows.

No excuse * No foul language * Sounds in space
14 June 2022
The fact that this is a remake of a very old series, can't be an excuse to be so dumb. In the 21st century we still have ship sounds in space, where sound doesn't exist. No matter how huge the ship is :) Also the tsirling computers.

The robot is so dumb that he cannot speak more than a trained cat.

The acting is poor, conventional.

But probably the most idiotic thing about this series is about the planets. The moronic writers find fully fitted planets with extraordinary ease! :D On all these planets you have the perfect conditions. No gravity difference from the Earth, the exact similar air composition (we all know that just a little too much or less oxygen is bad for us and also a little more/less CO2). The weather is pleasant so the actors can wear light clothes. They are also up to the 2020 fashion with stupid footballer haircuts and white shoe soles!

The day/night cycles are perfect. At some point you wonder why did they have to go to Alpha Centauri when they had these perfect planets along the way.

Also water is plenty and safe everywhere.

There are no deadly coronaviruses.

Just some stupid looking robots.

And they always always find solutions to the most adverse situations!

It is unconceivable why such a stupid series got high scores.

However, I gave it one more star than initially intended because of the absence of F-bombs and other filthy language. You might watch it with your whole family, but who wants to teach their kids such stupid notions?

Sandra having fun with the guys * No F-bombs, good for the whole family
10 June 2022
Low-rate reviews are unjust to this film. It is labelled a comedy, but this way it makes one expect more that it properly provides. However, if you ignore the label, you are in for a funny entertaining film. Jokes and gags come in surprisingly now and then and are so goofy, which really makes them entertaining.

The scenery is fine and Sandra's face is so photoshopped she looks like 35 (which is cool).

Apart from the fact that soft comedies are now rare on the big screens, there is no F-bomb, so this is one of the few films of these times suitable to the whole family.

The crazy scene of Bullock, Tatum and Pitt escaping in a wheelbarrow should become a classical!

The cinema scene needed this film.

Rating went down because of the F-bombs
7 April 2022
In the beginning it was a very enjoyable series, a fine intelligent satire on the empty, cliche-packed corporate life. Things went south just in the final episode of season 1, where they began throwing the primitive F-bombs. For commercial reasons? From that point it was hard to watch this bitter mix of intelligence and filthy primitivism.

And they fight with knives!
14 February 2022
Come on! They have space travel technology, their spaceships defy gravity, they have water recycling suits and... they fight with knives and swords like in the Stone Age?

A good thing is that they don't throw F-bombs and SH-bombs.

Fights in cartoons not so cool, it's like a video game with anorectic girlies
6 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The sequel is far from the epic quality of the original. While the original had a solid story, half of this too long a film is packed with action. But we are not impressed with fights in cartoons, especially when they seem to continue for ever. The 2nd half of the film is more humane and we start to connect better to the characters and their story (stories).

The girls fight like great masters, even if they look incredibly anorectic.

Animation is very good (as the original White Snake). Great coloration and attention to details.

How did this moronity got international awards??
22 September 2021
Time: 1:02:58 - I thought I would give it a shot. A Romanian astronaut? Intriguing. Well, it got more and more boring by the minute, and more and more annoying with the badly synthesized voices. But at that particular moment we had a heavenly revelation: when we heard that the astronaut had a "luxurious" shoulder, we burst into laughs at this moron's stupidity. Of course, he meant a "dislocated" shoulder, but the moron's English was that bad :D :D And there were morons in this world who gave him some awards for this stupid garbage! (Of course, bad English is continuous throughout the "film".)

Action with old people
23 March 2021
In this "action-packed" film, the main characters are over 50 years old. The dialogues are artificial-flavored clichés. The plot gets confusing in the last 2 episodes. And the makers aren't very smart if you see the 1920 visual cliché with the 2-circle-looking-through-the-binoculars effect.

It goes downwards to theatrical mediocrity
4 March 2021
Like many I have the nostalgia of Dr House, an excellent series (the first 2 seasons), where Laurie was so fit for the part. But his later acting was worse and worse. This is a new disappointment. Again bland acting. So some guys in a film studio got very bored and they said "Let's make a political drama. It's trendy". And they came up with this shallow waste of time. It starts on a reasonable level, but until the 4th episodes it get to mediocre theatricality, with dry lines. When the stupid writers didn't know what to write any more, it just stopped. Unsolved. The only good thing of this series is the musical theme.

A good family film, no F-bombs. Still the computers do the tsrrrl- tsrrrl!
11 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
You might be wondering why this film is so lowly rated on IMDB. It surely comes from people enjoying a film if only it is pack with action. But it wasn't meant to be one like that. It's more about human feelings, relations, adventure, loneliness, regrets, melancholy. So if you don't have patience, if you are a spaghetti film fan, you'll not like it. One huge quality of the film is that you can watch is with the whole family as it lacks F-bombs and SH-bombs, which so infest today's cinema. I enjoyed the strong references to the film Gravity (2013). The walk out in space to make repairs... a song on the radio... the attack of the debris... And the copied line about how beautiful the view is. I might have rated it a little higher, but I really can't bear the stupidity of that senseless tsrrrl-tsrrrl of the computers as well as the continuous scrolling of meaningless data on their screens. I can't believe Clooney could do that in the year 2020. That was pathetic. Also the finale is messed-up. After a nice surprise close to the end, we see two characters profoundly stupidly messing about with an electronic desk pretending they stupidly work. And then one leaves and the other one keeps fooling around. And the she leave the stage too. Just like teenage theater... Clooney, next time consult with me, before messing a good film up, will you?

A very stupid story and very bad acting. And Italian F-bombs
28 July 2020
The current score of 5.8 is a bit too much for this extraordinarily stupid Italian series. The only good thing about it is the photography. Everything else is lamely using the cheapest cliches. The dialogues are so so poor and the acting is shameful, like for a teenage film from communist Tajikistan with leisure actors. The main idea is handled naively and nonsensically. You wonder all the time: why is this happening? How did they get from the previous scene to this one? There are a lot of stupid developments. The actors are so weak and they get even lamer when some have to play a double role. The most stupid episodes are the last 2 and the last one is the most stupid: you'll laugh a lot at the stupid action and lines and upshot. To make this tasteless mess spicier, they added a lot of cursing (that is especially good for teenagers!) and the casual homosexual propaganda.

A sex toy boy and a pretext for meaningless erotic scenes. And the Facebook messneger.
23 July 2020
So Rooney is a young bimbo who thought of writing a novel where man is like in her dreams: athletic, with muscles and things, but soft, with no personality, always agreeing and apologizing and always available for a quick one. And the female character is as dull as the writer. Except for her face in some angles, Daisy Marianne is totally unattractive and with crooked legs. She walks so ugly and even more so with higher heels which accentuate her legs' shape. So Rooney was successful as there are out there in the world millions of bimbos who dream of the same sex toy boy. Then they turned her substanceless erotic dreams into a boring series! 12 episodes of no story and of nothing happening. Except, of course, for the necessary commercial eroticism. And the dullest dialogues possible as if there were taken from the Facebook messenger. The general score of above 8 comes from the multitude of dreaming bimbos.

Unbearably dull
25 April 2020
I don't even know how/why I started to watch this series online. The bad acting was annoying from the first episode. I was fooled but the high IMDB score and I tried to continue, but after 10 minutes of the 2nd episode I had enough of this amateurish waste of time. I had to stop. The acting is so bad that you don't even care about the story. I do have to remember to stop watching British series. Everything British that is not historical, theatrical or a comedy (or Sherlock!) is a sure failure.

Certainly not a comedy. Please DO NOT make children say F-words in films!
13 December 2019
I looked up this film because I was curious how Kristen Wiig does in a feature film. I heard of her comical stunts, but in this film she's not being funny at all. However she does a very good job, given her adaptability. The big bonus was the performance of Cate Blanchet - complex, deep, likeable... Still, the way they advertise the film as being among other things a comedy, is off-placed. There is nothing comical about this film, and some witty lines, although enjoyable, don't mean comedy. It would have been a very nice family film if it weren't for the child who, at some point, is effing out. And her mother is like "You are super-cool!" That was a shock from which you cannot recover fully until the end of the film. Why did they have to ruin a good film like that? Is this the first high-end film where a child swears like that?

Time travelling is always idiotic!
16 July 2018
I watch this series because I was looking for some good quality SF . But we do know that time travelling is always stupid. During all this chase you keep wondering: why don't they ever go back in time a little earlier than the bad guys' machine? :) Just to get them right. "You cannot go back to a time you were in". Really? They make up stupid time-travelling rules? :) And the finale... was... really idiotic! So idiotic. And they made him wear a beard, my goodness! :))

Incredibly bad acting
23 April 2018
I heard there were good reviews about this series and got interested. But the first several episodes were so bad. Not only a silly story, but the acting was horrible. Each and every actor felt like amateurish and incompetent. Like a gathering of lame beginners. The main character's toughness was so funny. The evilness of the silly girl monster was so stupid. After those few episodes I simply could not watch it any more, I could not afford to waste time on such 8.5-rated garbage.
