Honest Thief (2020)

Liam Neeson delivering as expected
15 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has all the typical Liam Neeson features and them done well: mad manly skills perfected in the past giving him the edge that he needs to defeat the bad guys impressing the weaker sex. Well executed plot twists, believable character traits, good conversation. Sacraficing more than most people on the planet are willing to sacrifice just for the one he loves. Well done love story on that matter. The only thing not quite fitting is the woman herself and the way she behaves. She looks quite manly. So you think her personality must outweigh the looks.. Nope, quite the contrary, she is egoistic, she will not listen to her man, she appears cold, the typical sex witch with red dyed hair whose interests are not having a family, but power, hence her first divorce. Her market value is abysmally low, which gets you thinking why would someone like the character portrayed by Neeson sacrifice so much for such an energy vampire? Especially given his age, maturity and experience.

To me, that is the biggest flaw in this film.

I would have given it 10 stars, but that flaw deducted 2 stars from it.

Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2024)

Potential wasted
7 March 2020
As a Star Trek Fan since TNG, this insult to its core values doesnt even succeed in decent entertainment due to focus on minority gender studies inclusion. To care for a character is what good entertainment should aim at, though that involves representation of real world stereotypes, which minorities are not. Being apalled by that already, it gets even worse considering most values being acted by are highly negative (betrayal, envy, greed,..) Star Trek once was a source of inspiring values, goose bumps inducing wisdom (f.ex. picards "with the first link the chain is forged"). But i guess it s all about money now. Trying to make Star Trek fit for a "broader audience" but failing miserably by not being able to look outside hollywood's society bubble. CGI was great though and Jason Isaacs' acting skills were superior. Thats whats the second star was for.

i wanted to like it
7 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Being a fan of the telekinesis genre and liking the 80s setting, i really wanted to like it. the acting is decent and believable, sophia lillis does an outstanding performance. The huge problem of this promising new series is it is produced by netflix, which includes progressive leftist propaganda in all its productions. It started almost unnoticeably by mentioning she is a "boring white girl". Why include the race? white is the majority so why mention it? noone in the 80s would have. to continue, her best friend is black. quite unusual back then. she then sleeps with a boy that perfectly fits her, and you feel the chemistry, yet the dumb script forces her to have no feelings for him, contradicting her body language, her mimics and her behavoir. To make weird ends meet, she kisses a female. Unbelievable and forced.

dont believe the bad reviews and rating, they re bought by the industry.

This was a great Mib movie. I felt entertained like back in the day with will smith in the first one. Watched that with my brother and we bursted out in laughter more than a dozen times - while this being a scifi movie. Excellent character development, great actors and a spielberg that makes each moment in the movie a perfect one fitting in like a piece of puzzle. Great CGI . Just GREAT FUN. Would watch again.

As we all know, imdb being too important for the big studios allowing democratic movie rating, this is the first one where people were paid to downvote rather than upvote. At least that is my impression.

Undeniably the worst of the worst cheap amateur fanfiction insult of a "movie"
20 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge Scifi and SG fan and thats why i really wanted to like it! But that massive load of unprofessionalism unpararalleled in the lifetime of moviemaking just overwhelmed me. There was one real actor: Connor Trinneer - the rest of the cast seemed to be employed right from the street. The acting was so terrible and unbelievable, f.ex. that small girl pushing that full grown nazi man a little from behind and hes knocked out cold HAHHAHAHA wtf? i mean seriously ehhh.. Then some idiot came up with hey lets make 10min episodes so we dont need actual content.. I wonder how high those guys licensing the sg franchise were to let that legacy be trashed like that. I was never ever more appalled and disappointed by a tv series in my whole life, expecting any moment those guys filming me with their hidden camera show appear "hey it was just a joke"

Excellent series, but feminist agenda!
27 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Starting off awesome in acting and character development, somewhere between season 2 and 3 feminist agenda to rewrite history in favor of feminism sets in. It even becomes male-hostile. That reduces the strength and flair of the old days to a modern day soap. I watch those kind of shows in particular to see men as they were still in their well-deserved power for inspiration and freedom of the modern-day slavery of males. This agenda ruined it for me so i will not watch season 3 and 4.

just bad.
11 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Their body language and auras suggested they were drawn to each other big time. Now the stupid script forced her to be ice cold which contradicts to that and lets the viewer feel very irritated. The story was so unbelievable far away from being realistic, a 14 year old girl acting with the experience rarely gained within a lifetime. A grown man being overpowered by a small girl? you must be kidding. A man being talked into suicide by a 14 year old? and for what reason? The acting was decent though. In the end i was so disappointed, i have to give this a 2.

Feminist Propaganda.
20 January 2009
This is one of the worst movies i ever watched. Starting off nice, it soon deconstructs the golden era of the 50ies in which a man was still a man and a woman knew her role until it becomes emancipation propaganda. Kate Winslet playing a badly educated witch in a world full of liars and with a husband without honor and strength. This was the exception back then, 99% of the people lived happily. Who wants to see movies that show life as it should not be, in which you do not feel strong, feel better, look up to. I watch movies to feel better after i watched them, to let them strengthen my values and in the end myself; or to just entertain me. This movie cannot satisfy any of these desires, actually it makes me feel sad, depressed. I can imagine some lesbian feminists or maybe suppressed women may enjoy this movie due to the parallels to their lifes, but that's about it. A waste of Winslets and DiCaprio's acting skills.
