Inception (2010)
Insane
We are so lucky Christopher Nolan chose to use all that insanity in the Movie Industry for our viewing pleasure!!... Honestly, how can such a brilliant story be told in such a mastering way and all coming from one man (and obviously a glorious team of actors and special effects crew)? I thought Memento was mind-boggling complex but this one...by the time they are all dressed in white I was already hopelessly lost, barely grasping what they were on about. The special effects are flawless but they don't leave you with that Avatar "I feel like I'm watching a video game someone else is playing" feeling. 6 stars! And I think it does NOT stop spinning in the end!... Brilliant!!
El Contrato (2009)
bad, sadly bad
My theory is that they tried for a good Portuguese film and ended up doing a bad American one. Not even the nudity can save it. The rhythm is awful, I heard people snoring on the cinema, the acting is unnaturally forced and the plot tries so hard to resemble an American action film (with scenes in Afganisthan hahah)that it becomes laughable on scenes it wasn't supposed to be funny at all. And all the cars are Skodas!! What sort of hit-man drives a Skoda?! But José Wallenstein is very good as a drag queen and Nicolau Breyner does the job as an actor, no surprises there! I understand this film should be seen as a fantasy, the director's fantasy of making an "action movie", but it doesn't deliver anything worth the 5 euros you pay to see it!
Casino Royale (2006)
Brutal!
A 007 movie stripped from fancy gadgets and overly eager girls but, maybe because of that, a more visceral one. Makes all the others look rotten by age and repetition. The best since Goldeneye! Daniel Craig is superb. Any woman would gladly loose all her money on poker just to have him stare at her for hours. Eva Green is like no other bond girl. Not futile, not loud... You can't really tell if the actors are good, the script is brilliant or the director is talented. It's all three!! A movie for Bond lovers and movie lovers in general. Only one thing missing. Like Desmond Llewelyn said once: "You must keep fantasy with Bond!" I hope they'll remember that next time and bring John Cleese back.
The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Damn the bad critics.Only the one who understands should talk about it.
My heart is still out of rithym. This has certainly been the greatest "sci-fi" epic I have seen and I feel devastated by the negative critics for I know that surely come from someone that doesn't understand the phyiosofic implications of these stories and cannot see beyond the fancy and sometimes overused especial effects. Yes, it's raw sci-fi with a raw interpretation sometimes, but it's also exciting and sure can entertain you if you "open your mind" to it. And that should be the goal for every single movie. They have changed my way of facing this world and my role in it, and I'm very glad for that...Damn the critics, any critic...
The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)
It's superb, a great way to spend an evening and...what a man!
The story is great, the choreography of the actors is amazing, it has an exciting end and a wonderful OST. The sex scenes as worth watching and both actors are excellent on every minute of the film. I highly recommend it.
