The Last Airbender (2010)
I Will never forgive Shyamalan for this
Its rubbish in every way. Dont watch it. 'Nuff said
Enola Holmes (2020)
Underwelming and stumbling.
The most surprising part about this flick, is that it appears to have been directed by a rookie; poorly and with a glance at Guy Ritchie, and filmed by a moderately talented high schooler who learned cinematography from YouTube. The lighting is dreadful and so flat at times it risks falling of the screen from a stiff breeze.
Acting, writing, and so on was adequate, but the plot couldve been so, so much darker if they just dared to go there - theres a hitman out to murder children for Pete's sake. Doesnt get much darker than that. And it is the times of the Women Reform - remember, this is London in the early 1900s. Women were basically second class citizens, barely more worth than the orphans and tarts of Whitechapel if not in the company of a man.
Keep heaping on the darkness, and we'd have something worthy of watching.
On a personal note: Sherlock and Mycroft are the characters in name only. They share close to nothing with the originals.
Example; Sherlock cares about others, and Mycroft is thin and short tempered.
In short: it stumbles between mildy interesting characters, moderately intriguing plot and a coming of age story, only to end with a wimpering yawn.
Hopefully this will become a series akin to the BBC Sherlock, and this travesty is only a show finding its footing.
The Umbrella Academy: Öga for Öga (2020)
Headspin Swedish
After the previous episodes atrocoius Swedish, My brain almost broke when Aiden pronounced it correctly. It caused the entire family to laugh out loud.
Good episode, with dark undertones.
The Umbrella Academy: A Light Supper (2020)
Laughably bad, but funny
Im gonna keep it short as my countrymen already sawed this episodes Swedish in two - but it has to be said that the only actually understandable Swedish was said by the knife-swede, who made a fair approximation of a finnish person speaking Swedish. And thats pretty cool.
Sidenote: using a Sauna is actually more of a Finnish thing. Just sweding.
Bumblebee (2018)
Its fun
Its pretty cool and a bit silly. A couple of heartfelt moments, foolish teenage angst, storydriven action and its filled with some serious fan/nerd-pleasing. I recommend it.
Robin Hood (2018)
Passtime, low-fat, No caffeine, gluten-free, No IQ required fun.
Its a Comic Book style movie that unfortunately isnt brave enough to play on the fact that its a Comic Book style movie.
Anacronistic and flamboyantly actionriddled it does however present a a smudge of interest in the: "what if CWs Oliver Queen was in fact Robin Hood?"-department.
Glass (2019)
In the Words of Mrs Price
The film isnt about heroes. Its about exceptional people, and the suppression of such people - Good or bad. Its a film with a message. As Mrs Price said in Unbreakable: This One has a surprise ending.
