And Just Like That... Breaks Heal
17 August 2023
What an episode! Super acting. I was wondering where this episode was going to go but as I got near to the end, I wasn't sure... As always Cynthia Nixon always delivers amazing acting at her best - be it funny or dramatic.

After almost 2 full seasons, I still don't know about the Chez character... the whole "Chez & Miranda" thing I'm just not sure about.

On a final note, it's great to see Carrie & Aidan back together again. Superb acting from both the Sarah Jessica Parker & John Corbett.

The ending totally broke me, what can I say?? Heartwrenching isn't even the word right now.

Does true love conquer all? Who knows..

And just like that... one more episode to go.

Roll on part 2... Let's make it a gooden!

The Christmas Shepherd (2014 TV Movie)

A Dog For Christmas....
27 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie just by chance very shortly after I lost my own German Shepherd dog (after 13 years of age), and there are some scenes in this movie that just crumbled me too pieces, merely because I related so much to Sally (Teri Polo) & Buddy. These moments between a dog and it's owner are just a little too close to home for me but still, it's a really great feel-good Christmas movie.

One would actually question if this movie could be made without being a "Christmas movie." The story is just about a dog that goes missing and is re-homed by new owners Mark (Martin Cummins) and his daughter, and the dogs owner Sally tries to get her dog back. Obviously romance blossoms along the way between Mark & Sally & you can guess the rest, but this kind of thing could happen anytime of year.

The story is very moving and some moments are very coincidental but still it flows beautifully with some great acting and touching moments. A really good Christmas movie especially if you like German Shepherds.

Strode vs. Myers... The End Of An Era!
17 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Maybe I'm being a little too generous with my 7/10 rating, and I never usually read other reviews about a movie before I actually watch it but all the other reviews got me curious.

So, I've just left the cinema having watched Halloween Ends and yes I agree with a lot of reviews; Michael Myers doesn't appear in the movie for atleast an hour into it but still the story is good. Corey is more-or-less the star of the movie (next to Jamie Lee Curtis of course).

I really liked this movie. I came into this quite certain that Laurie Strode would finally meet her fate. I've been telling myself the only way to have a "Halloween Ends" and for the only way to kill Michael off is for Laurie to die too. I was so sure this was going to happen in this film... does she die or does she survive? I'll leave that for you to find out.

I don't know why I'm seeing a lot of 1/10 ratings, these are probably from people who expected too much from the movie. It's 2022 for god sake, did you expect to be taken back to 1978 again?

The final showdown between Laurie & Michael was excellent. Pure brilliance.

Don't really know what else to say. We can't all be pleased with the final outcome. I'm happy enough that it's ended the way it has. A franchise like Halloween can't go on forever. Lee Curtis has done us proud!

It's Just Another Bunch Of Hocus Pocus... Let Those End Credits Roll. There's More!
30 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Really don't know what to say apart from a fantastic sequel indeed but not as good as the original. My high expectations were exceeded, however it lost a lot of the originality. It sure took a long time for Mary to regain her smell of children again. I was beginning to think she never would.

I'm here merely for Sarah Jessica Parker. I grew up watching the first movie and she was one of my first childhood crushes. She looks amazing! However, I felt she lost a lot of her originality from the first movie too.

The children are a bunch of nobody's to me and didn't feel they connected well to the movie. Who are they?! This movie would definitely be a 10/10 had they brought back Max, Dani & Alison.

"I Love Your Hair Like That. You Must Go Through Conditioner Like Crazy!"
30 August 2022
I remember when this movie came out originally in 2000 and it being a massive success. It's just pure brilliance! The comedy, the acting, everything! Not to mention Elizabeth Hurley's stunning outfits. It's no surprise she was nominated for "Best Dressed", this is probably the best she's ever looked.

The chemistry between Hurley & Fraser is outstanding and I think this is what makes it a fantastic movie. I just love the way she talks to him like he's a kid lol!

"Bedazzled" might not be everyone's cup of tea but it certainly is mine. The soundtrack is great too, a few recognised hits throughout the film.

I definitely recommend this movie especially if you wanna be dazzled by the one & only Elizabeth Hurley.

One Hour Too Slow...
31 March 2022
Well, I'll certainly never watch "Mrs. Doubtfire" the same way ever again after seeing "One Hour Photo". It's very strange to see Robin Williams play a serious character because as we all know, he is known for his comedic talent and improvisation.

Still, this was a really good film. Just a tad bit slow for me. Once it hit the one hour mark, it started to pick up but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Female Warrior Movie At It's Best
29 March 2022
A female heroine / warrior movie at its best. I do like these kind of movies. Very well made and the final showdown is what makes it even better.

Starts off a bit slow but gets going once the revenge plot starts. Actually found it quite a brilliant movie, despite some poor reviews.

This Show Is My Life!
21 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I was 1-year old in 1987 when this show aired. I watched it while it was still in production in 1989 (I was 3.) and I'm 35 now and still it's completely hooked to my heart. The story, the romance, the acting, the music especially & most of all because of Linda Hamilton.

There just isn't a show like it. I'm not embarrassed to say that I am obsessed and emotionally attached to this show. I lose myself inside it completely in ways that I can't explain. I don't know what it is but the love for this show just grows without measure.

Every time each episode nears to the end and we hear the famous Catherine and Vincent theme (composed by Lee Holdridge), I just completely melt inside, no matter how much I try not too. It just gets me every time.

Linda Hamilton & Ron Perlman are just absolutely magnificent together & having met both of them at comic con (I've met Linda Hamilton twice in London) & they are both just incredibly warm and welcoming to meet.

Each episode in season one is a stand alone episode. Each episode tells a different story & all the stories are just so well written. There's so much depth to all the characters involved.

The World Below is just a place we all get taken too when we watch it and I for one really feel like I'm there when I dulge into this magnificent series.

The writers, the producers, the directors really knocked this one out of the park and although they don't make shows like this today, I'm really glad they don't because this gem is really one of a kind and it's a show that has changed my life forever.

I'd recently learnt over the years that many of the crew are British and it makes me so proud that these magnificent people came together to bring the best of an amazing show. What can I say?! Nothing has ever & will ever come close to what this show is.

Dance Moms (2011–2019)

The Music For The Dance Numbers Is Amazing!
1 March 2022
I find the series most entertaining when Christi & Kelly are in it (Season 1-4), they are just such a pleasure to watch. Christ is very sarcastic and speaks up to Abby and Kelly very much does the same. The fights are and bickering between the moms just go endlessly and that's what makes the show good to watch.

What really attracts me to the show is the music used for the dance numbers. I would love to see this series receive an official soundtrack compilation. I do wonder where Abby gets the music from because during the dance numbers some of the songs are just so catchy. And I've looked up these songs & the artists and I've never heard of them, especially not here in the UK. But the music for me is just amazing. I'm a huge lover of upbeat poppy hits and this show is just filled with it.

The X-Files: How the Ghosts Stole Christmas (1998)
Season 6, Episode 6
10/10
My Favourite Episode Of The Entire Series
10 February 2022
Just brilliant! I could rave from the rooftops on how great this episode is. I just love it!

"How The Ghosts Stole Christmas" is a Halloween-Christmas episode rolled into one & is known to be the lowest budget episode of Season Six, and has the smallest cast (up until season 11's episode "Rm9sbG93ZXJz".

I agree with pretty much every other reviewer on this episode. It's just simply the best. Definitely one I watch every Christmas without fail. It's also an episode that is so easy to remember because of the story it tells and because it's a stand-alone episode that doesn't follow on from the previous one. As soon as the episode starts, it just takes me right to where Mulder & Scully are. I can only imagine David Duchovny & Gillian Anderson must have had a blast making this episode.

A 10/10 episode for sure that never gets me tired of watching. The story, the music, the chemistry between the characters (especially between Mulder & Scully), the feel-good christmassy feeling it gives. You're sure to feel exacly the same.

An episode I could watch all year round, and not just at Christmas!

And Just Like That... No Tampons Attached!
27 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
And just like that... I couldn't help but wonder if this episode was just a lesson for the ladies. It's like tampon city with nothing else attached! This episode should be sign-posted "No Guys Allowed!", and here I am, a guy watching it !

The conclusion from the previous episode is not how I expected this one to go. Nothing seems concrete with Miranda & Che, which I was determined to believe would be, but no.

Anyways, back to tampon city - and just like that... things couldn't get anymore embarrassing for Charlotte!

So, after 9 episodes in and only one more to go later... I'm still convinced we are gonna get the biggest surprise of our lives with Kim Cattrall appearing in the tenth and final episode. Im just sure of it!

The Children...
11 December 2021
The only actor I recognise is Jeremy Sheffield who is well known for appearing in 'Hollyoaks'.

For a British movie I thought it was OK. The behaviour of the children and why they act the way they do is never explained and I think that's what let's the movie down. I can only assume the children are somehow possessed by something. Parts of the movie are very extreme & exaggerated but still makes for a good horror. Maybe I was expecting more but it is what it is. The acting is great from both the parents and the children but I just felt something was missing & I don't know what.

I Just Love These Kinds Of Movies!
11 December 2021
I watched this movie back in the late 90s on TV & immediately was hooked. I tried to look everywhere for it but with it being a made-for-TV movie I knew I was going to have great difficulty in finding it. Of course back then we could only record on VHS and that's something I wish I did with this film. I love it! Even just for the filming locations; Canada has such amazing scenery out in the river wild. The story itself is great to follow and the acting is just superb, especially from Stephanie Zimbalist & Sarah Chalke.

I'm grateful that this amazing movie has been uploaded onto YouTube. I can only hope it will get an official DVD release but when? Who knows.... It's a shame because they don't make movies like this no more.

And Just Like That... The Girls Are Back!
9 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Well, almost all of them. All but one! It's great to see the girls back looking better than ever. Time has passed but they still remain to be the best they've ever been - stylish, elegant & comedic.

Being a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker, I knew she wouldn't disappoint in her return as Carrie Bradshaw. There's some great one-liners throughout the episode which again, the original series was just filled with.

This is a show of its own and while Kim Cattrall is no longer back with the gals, we are yet to see what the show can bring without her presence. I'm not one who likes change and I just they don't change the show too much but we will see...

I had a feeling there would be an immediate reference to COVID-19 and there it is right in the first few seconds of the episode...

Also thrilled to see the original complete series of Sex and the City has just received a BluRay release on Amazon. I know what I'll be getting for Christmas!

Watch it Just for Judy Greer Wearing A Christmas Jumper All The Way Through The Movie
17 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Judy Greer wearing a Christmas jumper during Halloween is the highlight of watching this movie.

And how many trained cops in this movie and not one of them can aim a damn gun at Michael Myers! Almost every gunshot was well off target!

Other than that, great flash black scenes, & incredible film score.

Also, this movie now officially marks the only film out of the entire franchise where Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) doesn't share a single scene with Michael Myers.

I'm hearing people say that "Halloween Ends" (2022) will be the final movie where Michael Myers finally dies, but what if Michael kills Laurie Strode? Did nobody think of that? He's spent over 40 years hunting her down and what if he finally does and it all ends with her death? This will be the end of Halloween...

Friends 'Til The End
28 May 2021
I grew up watching this incredible show which took the world by storm with its superb writing, acting, humour & most of all the friendship between six friends. It's so great to see them back together after 17 years when the show originally ended in 2004. The love between them is just so incredible and you don't often get that with a cast of such talented people like these. Usually one would go off and part ways or move on to other projects but everything this show stood for back in 1994-2004 still remains today and that is these friends will be there right til the end, for us and more importantly for each other.

The interviews and the re-enacted scenes from the original episodes were just so amazing to see & of course funny. It's strange to see how they can remember every detail of filming those scenes originally and the bloopers is a real treat to see.

They all look stunning, they all look happy & what started out as six strangers who became close friends are now like one big family & I can only wish each and every one of them the best of success for their futures.

Superb Performance by Main Leads
2 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Im a sucker for these "stranded at sea movies" and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Not the best out there but it's a good movie. Stunning performances from the 2 main leads. The flashback scenes take some getting used too because it confuses you with what's happened and what's happening. But I loved it!

Theatrical Acting
17 April 2021
As a professional actor I can tell you right now the first opening scene of the movie was done very theatrical with elements of the farm used from green screen (look behind the girl wearing glasses, you'll notice.) Also the two actors in this opening scene clearly are using queue cards to prompt them with their lines. This is what you call 'bad acting.'

Beyond the opening scene I couldn't watch much further. I give it another 10 minutes and then just turned off. The fake blood was just as bad! I don't know what was used but it just didn't even look remotely effective.

I've never really been much of a Stallone fan but I've just watched this movie for the first time and quite liked it. It has some right little great moments in it and a good cast to go with. Many of the supporting actors play a good part too.

Great action, good moments of realism and moments of suspense which makes the movie all that better.

Great Poster - Not So Much Great Film.
16 April 2021
I'm struggling to think why this movie won an award for Best Feature Film. It was ok but it's one of those movies I don't think I'd watch again. I think the only praise I can give it is the great acting from both the child stars in the movie - Jaeden Martell & Lia McHugh.

The movie is kinda slow and something was missing, I don't know what. It could have been a lot more scarier had it had more of a score to it but that's it. It's a shame because the poster is much better than the film itself. It lead me to believe this was going to be a really good 'stranded in a cabin' horror movie because these are the films I love but I just wasn't feeling it with this one.

Killer Never Revealed
15 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's an alright film. Could have been a lot scarier. I like my horror movies but I just couldn't connect to this one as much as I would have liked too. Great acting and it starts off with a good story but the ending just becomes so unexplained as to who the killer is, I didn't get it. Who is he? What connection does he have to the people he kills?

Charlie vs Victor Crowley
12 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The film is good if you like your monster horror movies. I found this to be very slow moving but at the same time it carries a lot of great suspense so that makes up for it. The great comparison is Charlie is very much like Victor Crowley from the 'Hatchet' movies & while Kane Hodder starred in all the Hatchet movies, in "Charlie's Farm" he's very much a supporting character role. But still both films feature Hodder... coincidence?

The death scenes are great! Was expecting the blonde girl (played by Tara Reid) to be the hero of the film as I was rooting for her from the beginning but it's usually the case that the blondes never survive.

"Charlie's Farm" great horror film, while it doesn't remain the best it certainly does what it says on the tin - scary, gory & the cream of the crop!

Dead End (I) (2003)

Roadworthy!
11 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I do love a good road-movie but horror road-movies are something we don't get much off today & this was well worth a watch. Very predictable in parts, especially the ending. It's nice to see Lin Shaye play a doting mother for a change. I think she's often seen as this typecast actress that plays the psychotic killer in most horror films. But she plays quite the comedic mother here. Her son dies in the film and the following scene she sits back in the back of the car scoffing pie!

I was wondering what I'd seen the daughter Marion in (played by Alexandra Holden) and I realised she guest-starred in season six of Friends as Ross's love interest. Her acting is much better in this movie than in Friends.

The movie has a few scares here and there but nothing out of the ordinary and as most reviewers have said it's very predictable in parts. Is it a Christmas horror movie? I'd say so but it doesn't really give you that Christmassy feeling. Where's the snow?

Would have liked to see The Woman In White character look a lot more scarier. She looked too stunning and I immediately assumed the actress playing her was some model.

"Dead End" is a great movie, I can see why it was a smash hit in 2003. Definitely roadworthy!

Wow! This is one totally messed up film.... in a good way. I'm glad I don't take drugs or have any bad addictions of any kind. I merely just watched this movie because Jennifer Connelly stars in it. Huge fan of hers, I've seen almost nearly every film and I've just watched this one. Other than that I rate this movie 4/10.

Eye-Catching!
7 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
One of those movies I thought was going to be about one thing and then is quite different once I get watching it. Not what I expected but I did enjoy it.

A very slow start (actually the first 35 minutes or so is quite slow but picks up once it gets going). The majority of the movie is filmed during the night time so you really have to focus on what is going on. There's a lot of moments when you just want to shout at the characters for doing stupid things. I mean, first of all when a kid tell you there's someone hiding in the closet then turn the bedroom light on & look in the closet! Why do people search round a house in complete darkness?

Can't say there was much "child eating", I think more adults got their eyes eaten out more than the child. There's one child star in this movie and he did a super job in the role as 'Lucas'.

The acting is great and the real scare for me was right at the very end. Totally got me! For this I give it a 7/10.
