How It Ends (2018)
North Koreans
2 February 2022
Very plausible... With the nuclear tests, and threats.

Could be planned, with first hitting targets with nuclear bombs, then biological strikes at the same time.

And strikes at strategic power grids.

This could be an orchestrated, well planned attack of the west coast.

An intentional or non intentional chain reaction, of seismic/volcanic events in the pacific north west could be added, to such a scenario.

Kim Jong UN is capable, of such planned insanity.

Completely inhumane, an out of control megalomaniac could plan this, and take the US by surprise, simply because we did not believe he would do such a thing.

We should put nothing past him.

He tried counterfieting the 100 dollar bill, to get advantage.

He is polluting the earth, with atomic tests....

He is capable of anything.

Warning: Spoilers
Instead of crying in defeat, at the end, he should have had the last word, and told her.....YOU WILL NOT HAVE A SON OR DAUGHTER, BY ME, EVER....... and quietly left the merienda they were having.

That would have been a proper payback.

Stop. DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE
9 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
President Trump called Sacha Cohen, the most disgusting actor ever.

I heartily agree.

In the beginning of this movie, He narrates, that the village he comes from has an annual celebration, that celebrates the soldiers, who ran the death camps, in WWII.

I immediately turned off, the movie.

I had anticipated watching a comedy, by a strange and bizarre, but funny actor.

Instead, I am greeted with antisemitism, and inappropriate, and shocking comments, that are NOT FUNNY.

How does the Hollywood acting community put up, with this distasteful actor.

What has happened, to decency?

Change a line... or, hear what you want to hear.

That day, when you announced that you were getting married, word got out, to the archdioces. Then someone showed pictures to the bishop, of you and Ben in FULL DRAG, on facebook, of all places.

I didn't know what Petra was. I thought that was a euphemism, for cross dressing, when I heard that line, from the Priest, who fired George.

I was laughing my ass off.

Now I know what Petra is.... kind of the Niagra Falls of the middle east.

One big bad dangerous joke to the US effort in the Vietnamese conflict.

Robin Williams plays a DJ for the troops, in Vietnam. He becomes known among the locals, and they use him to demoralize the troops, terrorize the city, and kill US servicemen, and civilians

Like a Norman Rockwell painting.

A nostalgic and sentimental fantasy (journey), based on the historical, and the political climate of the time.

An absolutely lovely, and well-cast movie. Almost Capra-esque, in the way this ordinary Joe, fights, for truth, justice, and the American way... and gets the girl, too.

Reminiscent of an actual post war movie THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES (1946), where a returning soldier loses his arm in the war.

A touching swan song, for the gentle and endearing Martin Landau, who we lost in 2017.

Inspirational, and heartwarming, this is truly, Jim Carey's finest hour.

Double Trouble (I) (1992)
Come to the Dark side....
14 September 2016
This was a great movie / comedy. I never followed wrestling, or knew of the barbarian brothers, but loved this movie. It was so funny when one of them quotes Darth Vader. Roddy Mcdowell plays such a delicious villain. Greedy and Evil. I can't believe he is gone (dies 6 years after this movie, from lung cancer). This is an entertaining, and a very feel-good movie. And, a family movie, with no vulgarity, or inappropriateness. I wonder what happened to the barbarian brothers? Also, takes place in LA.... nice to try to spot the places. Ten lines of text... they gotta be kidding. There is a verse in the Bible with 2 words.... Jesus wept.

So freaking funny.. For a dollar, you gotta remember this....
27 March 2015
To date, the 5th and 6th seasons, are only available on cable, and in my opinion, the best Bob has to offer, the 1975, and the bicentennial year.

In this, the 100th episode, Leonard Stone plays an insufferable, full of himself colleague, that Bob begins to hate... until he finally tells him.... 'HERE'S A DOLLAR.... PLEASE NEVER SAY FINE AND DANDY TO ME, AGAIN.

As Dr "Podbillion" snatches the dollar, and begins to say "FINE AND DANDY", Bob slams the office door in his face. Absolutely hilarious.

Leonard Stone played the father of the Blueberry in 1970s, WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY ("Violet... your turning violet"), and a gay apartment owner in PARTNERS (1980).

Record this episode on your VCR, or rather...Tivo... you won't regret it.

God's Pocket (2014)
Devil's pocket
5 March 2015
Devil's Pocket

Devils Pocket (God's Pocket), is a snapshot of reality...whether we like it, or not. Love is not all around, as the MTM theme happily proclaimed, back in the 1970s. We gratify ourselves with drugs... we die tragically, and young... but before that, we strut and shout our moment upon the stage, trying to make good, against the fear, hatred, poverty, crime, misery and madness, that is OUR neighborhood. Perhaps every neighborhood.

It's so easy to criticize (this movie). But never do we point a finger, at ourselves.

Mature Science-Fiction

A landmark movie, but not perfect. Very tedious and slow moving and pedantically produced, Kubrick had a field day putting his "stamp" on this film.

Yes, he is a great producer/director, but too much film noir is apparent in this movie. He loves to "isolate" his characters in a kind of silent surreal "forum", and give the audience a sense of inexplicable foreboding (his style is the same in all the movies of his I've seen, The Shining, 2001, and Eyes wide shut). As for an explanation of this movie...WHAT'S NOT TO UNDERSTAND? The monolith represented the apple (I hate to get into religion here, but), so to speak.... that spark that changed forever mankind from mere animals, to self-conscious, intelligent beings.

It being on the moon at the dawn of our extraterrestrial baby-steps, meant that mankind was ready to be changed again (an evolutionary change), into something else, that we (at present) can not imagine (that being the case, the change could only be represented by the star child {the embryo}..."rebirth").

What puzzled me, and the thing I hated about this movie, however, was that there was TWO stories in it---the profound one about mankind's change, and a silly one about a computer terrorizing the crew. I did'nt see how they tied together, and it appeared just a ploy to make the movie more appealing to the masses, and give it more substance (it already had plenty, to me).

You could tell easily the movie was made in the psychedelic 60s....Kubrick must have really been caught up in times himself, as we see in the 30 minute "acrylics kaleidascope" scene.

So, some of the movie is really transparent, but since so much also was unprecedented in film-making, that it will forever stand out as a landmark classic.

Salem Witch Trials (2002 TV Movie)
OK.. Shirley Maclaine is a great actress...this movie confirms that.
24 November 2010
First.... I can't believe this is a made for TV movie... seems too well acted, too many great actors, and set design/period too well done, for a "made for TV stamp" to be on this movie.

I never thought much about Shirley MacLaine.... just as a has-been sex symbol, and fluff actress (like early Natalie Wood). But when I saw this movie....WOW... she sheds all vanity and modesty, and delivers a powerful performance worthy of an (other??) Oscar. Piousness, Humbleness, sympathetic...all the qualities I thought this actress was not (didn't she do a Las Vegas show recently??)... she played all this, so movingly.

Peter Ustinov was at his best, too, playing a villain, yet showing his character as more complex, who feels sorrow at what he does, but still metes out his brand of misplaced judgment.

As high a drama as this was, I noted much of the movie as historically accurate enough, making this a great movie. On par with "Judgment at Nuremburg" (another star-clogged movie, that ended up being a great success).

Ladies and Gentleman.....introducing....JUDY GARLAND !!!!
17 October 2010
OK... that dance... where have I seen it before???

Was it a number, Judy Garland did in her live shows??? (a clown or puppet she was imitating). I don't think it was Liza, and I don't think it was the scare crow's dance from the Wizard of OZ (Ray Bolger).

But GEZZ...that guy (Michael C Hall) even looks like Judy... I thought that was a great tribute.

The whole movie was bizarre, hilarious, and ironic... played like a video game itself. And it seemed the Michael Hall character was based on the Virgin Atlantic Mogul???

and the movie was so provocatively GAY ---- the way the black guy comes up, naked, from behind him, in the locker room... WOW... I almost expected to hear the village people song...MACHO MACHO MAN....

Anyway, he needed to die. This movie made it very clear, black and white.
