CKY 3 (2001)
Definetly bloomed the 'jackass' culture
Great stunt video, you can't fake stunts like that.
Check out the video if you like to watch stunts or if you like skateboarding, you will not be disapointed.
I'm starting to see people around my neighborhood trying to start their own stunt videos and I bieleve this is one of the films that started this.... this will be the start of a new nation: a jackass nation.
The jackass culture is kind of an extreme evolve upgrade of skateboarding, the skating is still there and the drug use is too. But now we are really starting to hurt ourselves in new ways and getting it on tape too while we listen to some kick ass metal.
Friday (1995)
Never liked the thug life until I saw this video...
Friday was a great film, which should mean a lot coming from a preppy white boy from the north. It seems that the films central theme is random stabs at humour throughout, but that's far from all Friday is; there is an underlying message here: 'Guns are bad and not worth using, you'll regret it for the rest of your life!' That's what I got out of the show also; granted I already knew that!
I bieleve anyone who checks out the film will like it, the plot definetly enrichens at the end and turns out to be definetly worth seeing.
Ice cube did a good job and Chris Tucker did a great job, and the supporting characters did well also too; I started to bieleve they actually lived in this neighborhood their whole lives...
Job well done: 7.5/10
American Psycho II: All American Girl (2002)
Very dissapointing in every way, hopefully no one was gonna actually take this film seriously
I had a feeling this was going to be a bad flick. I admit, the only reason I even watched the video was hopefully because Christian Bale would be in some scenes, but he wasn't. The link to the original is awful, I did however enjoy William Shattner's performance (I hope I spelled that correct) he was pretty funny and pretty goofy throughout.
But the movie was just too darn spaced out to think anything good of. It makes you relize just how good the original AP was compared to this.
ReBoot (1994)
A landmark for many other future television series to compare to
Reboot was simply an epic.
The first notorious GCI animated series, deserves nothing more than that. However, Reboot showed a great plot and great characters, not to mention excellent timing for comedic relief from each character throughout each show.
Each season the series developed and evolved into newer and deeper episodes. The third season, really contrasted against the more simplistic approach of the first one.
If you were to watch any episode try one from the beginning, I believe these are the best. It is evident that a lot of time was placed into the story and characters. I mean what a great idea: Inside a computer, with game cubes falling and two viruses, one intellectual and the other chaotic also to cause problems for the citizens of mainframe.
In the end, Reboot didn't gain the success as overly popular titles like the simpsons. Probably because it was aimed to a lower age group, but I think even adults would enjoy this show.
Like I said before, series in the future aiming for this genre will have to compare themselves to Reboot. I mean, Beasties did, and that was great also.... but that's another story all together.
Groundhog Day (1993)
This movie has a wonderful plot, it's not just comedic it's spiritual, and intellectual
Groundhog day was a breath of fresh air, when I watched it. I've never seen a movie like it. Possibly due to the fact that a plot like this only works once and Groundhog day, to my knowledge, took full advantage of it.
The actor playing the main character must be good in order for a movie to have any chance, even with good support cast and director; in this movie, Bill Murray did a sensational job convincing me. His Mannerisms were flawless throughout the movie, as he evolved throughout the day repeating itself over and over.
Bill Murray, the plot, the support cast keeps you in to the movie all the way. It's nice to know that the suspence doesn't build as much as more dramatic movies do, rather it starts rather quickly in the movie and just doesn't stop until the conclusion.
Who sais a plot has to go with the laws of science? Watch groundhog day, it's a spiritual movie and a very interesting one and that's all the viewer needs. Excellent movie!
The Man in the Attic (1995)
Very compelling, almost mesmorizing. Based on a true story
The movie had all the elements of a movie to be potentially great.
I was immediately captivated in watching it. The narrative hook, showing the jail and the interviewer; after that, my eyes were glued to the screen right until the end...
The story builds and enriches beautifully throughout the screen. Their are always gradual changes, but not too long or ongoing to still keep you interested. Very well done acting, but I bieleve far better direction and plot to go along with.
After I watched the movie, I went to bed, when I woke up the next morning I couldn't bieleve what happened, how far the movie built this so-called relationship, this so-called 'family'. But, I've said too much I don't want to give the movie away.
American Psycho (2000)
Controversial, Logical, Rigid, a true horror, intellectual, and a masterpiece
The Movie had all the elements of a modern day exemplary film. Great plot, great drama, great actors, great filming.
The sequence of shots, centralize around Patrick's madness and how it begins to suddenly overtake his life. The killings start and don't stop, only seem to become more quantitive (more blanket of death within one swoop, so to speak). This may seem to look the movie as boring, but it is well done, while this is happening, we see possibilities of Patrick's madness but never really tell. We observe his behavior, and the one's around him. Christian Bale did an excellent job!
