I Care a Lot (2020)
Watch Layer Cake instead.
I finished watching this and looked for a writing credit linked to layer cake. From the opening scene to the predictable ending I thought I was watching a remake/rehash. I hope the writers credited other people for the ideas!
Don't waste your time with this. The acting isn't bad, hence 2 stars. It's worth watching if you think you have absolutely nothing else left to watch, but even then I'd recommend Paul blart 2 over this.
Accident Man (2018)
Bad beyond belief.
It's may be based on a comic book, but it's more comical than book! (Read that back in a cockernee gangster tone and you've got the film.) Awful. This Adkins guy is sold to us as an action star? He's awful. The fights are wooden like his acting... Why is garbage like this made? Plot is thinner than most contact lenses, yet hero can't see anything despite being ultra special delta force!
Also factuals..... us guy doing Rambo thing.? ...?.. gpmg?
Bad... Just bad.
Good Omens (2019)
Great work.
Sir Terry would be happy with this. Inspired casting, as much as the radio version was brilliant, they've got it spot on. Also, the narration and deep insights into the little things came over brilliantly. Still avoiding the m25 more than 20 years after reading It!
A Bad Idea Gone Wrong (2017)
Spirit of John Hughes.
Starts off a little slow, nearly gave up on it. Unable to sleep I persevered and I'm glad a did. Not overlong, and, if it's predictable that's ok. There's a lot worse out there.
The Punisher (2017)
Good fun.
Well, I wasn't sure what to expect and didn't set my hopes too high. I've enjoyed the Punisher films over the years, and liked what I saw in Daredevil. I was pleasantly surprised with it. Yes, it could have been shorter, some episodes did feel like filler. But if you watch it all in one hit, then you can easily get bored. Glad it was released in one go. Weekly on streaming sites defeats the object.
Rise of the Footsoldier: Part II (2015)
More of the same cack.
Where do I start...acting is awful, bordering on on parody. Hard men who don't see bad things happening to them. It's 1985 gangster wonderland. I hope the idiots who made this got forced to watch Michael Mann and Tarantino films for a month. Amateur at best, swearing is pathetic. A poor film of a poorer subject. AVOID.
High-Rise (2015)
More of the same.
Watched this directors other films, not really impressed with how he blatantly rips off other movies and somehow is hailed as amazing. His films just look good, but don't actually deliver anything new. Formulaic and boring. Waiting for it to finish so I could write this. Style over substance, ben wheatley is selling snake oil. Don't buy the hype.
Scorpion (2014)
Mcguyver meets Rain Man.
Well, I thought TV shows were getting better. Sherlock, Luther, The Blacklist and Archer have proved that quality TV isn't quite dead! Then this awful drivel is put out. Where do you start, other reviewers have commentated on all its faults, yet it has a 7+ rating on here.....Maybe womble O'Brien has hacked IMDb! Its enjoyable as a clever spoof of all the TV action shows ever made, but Mcguyver did that! Its says its based on this jokers life experience and I could believe that. But, only if his life experience has been sitting in front of the TV for the past 35 years! Not an ounce of originality and characters from the back of a cereal carton 'cut out and keep' action TV show stereotypes. I would like to see more, if only for my own amusement, trying to work out which TV show 'did this before' is my new game. Rant over. Watch and laugh!!
