Uwe Boll found his true calling!
1 March 2011
I've had the chance to watch a screener today. This is not Schindler's List. It's not a movie for entertainment but to remember genocide that still happens today.

This play starts with a documentary and ends with a documentary that is 45 minutes long. In the actual movie, which is about 30 minutes long, you see a train arriving at a concentration camp, and then you see every detail until the Nazis kill the inmates. You see, hear and can almost feel the people choke in the Gas in every detail. The movie shows shocking images of how it could have been back then in Auschwitz.

In the movie part, Uwe Boll is playing a Nazi Guard and he plays his role just as if he would work in a School, Kindergarten or Prison, with total normality as if what he's doing as a Nazi Guard is normal work. There is dialogues between the Nazi guards that I found mostly realistic. They have normal problems and small talk just like anybody else and are not the typical Hollywood-type of bad guys.

Before and after the movie, there is the 45 minute documentary which consists of a short introduction by Uwe Boll and interviews with German Teenagers (Germans, and German Immigrants), where one of them looks like a young Claudia Schiffer but does give surprisingly intelligent answers about the Holocaust, Jews and Auschwitz. In this part of this work, there is also real images and video from Concentration Camps, Hitler and the time back then.

I think it's important to remember this time, I do think the movie by Uwe Boll helps. I like how the documentary part of the movie does mention other parts of the world where today still genocide happens, just in smaller numbers. We should never forget and respect each other and care for each other, no matter race, nationality, skin color, or beliefs.

To quote John Lennon, I hope you join us. 10/10 for Inspiration and the documentary value.

A thriller only playing in one location
21 August 2010
The movie plays in a little coffee-bar only, different people come together. It's an interesting play of tension and violence. The movie is professional done while it's still a rather cheap production (probably the salary for Michael Madsen and the other actors was by far the most expensive thing). Good actors in this movie, good acting by them. It's by far not a brilliant movie, I wouldn't even say it's very good. It's a good movie, an OK movie, that is quite entertaining and let's the time go by fast. You will want to see it through to the end after the first 20 or so minutes at least that's how it was for me. A must for Michael Madsen Fans, and still a possibility for everyone else.

Cheap production, No tension, No interesting characters
1 May 2009
While a cheap production isn't necessarily a bad one, this movie lacks to introduce the characters, actually it doesn't introduce them at all.

And so you will have a hard time developing any relationship or care for the actors.

While the idea for the movie is a good one, I love movies about contract killers..

This production lacks any love, intelligence, fun and joy..

..and you see it in the movie.

The movie is just boring, it's not worth to waste any more words on it.

I am not sure why it won two prizes.

Maybe the other movies were even worse. Or there were no other movies. Probably that.

The most bullied director ever delivers an enjoyable Movie
9 March 2009
Bill Gates, Brad Pitt, Richard Branson, and so many other great people got bullied in their lives before they reached the ultimate success and respect by the general population. Uwe Boll is no difference. Even before anyone has seen his latest movies their IMDb Rating is at 1/10 with 1000 of Voters. They do not rate the film, they join the lemming army of weak people who enjoy to pick on a victim. It used to be the Nazis with the Jews, now its the film critics against Uwe Boll.

So many standard Hollywood Movies are boring, even Quentin Tarantino can get boring but Uwe Boll always delivers something new, re-refreshing and interesting. His cynical and abstract jokes are not understood by everybody but thats why the more intelligent people love his movies and his Fanbase keeps growing (there isn't just the lemmings who rate all his movies 1/10 there is also a lot of people who rate them 10/10 and the number keeps growing).

Now rate my review as not useful if you feel offended because you know I am right.
