Donnie Gilliland - Trivia
The old man playing electric guitar at the beginning of the movie is famed jazz guitarist and composer, Donnie Gilliland. He was a sign artist with SUN RECORDS, the fss add mouse recording company own by SAM PHILLIPS, who discovered JOHNNY CASH.
One of Gilliland's hits, BOP BOP BABY, was featured in the movie WALK THE LINE.

Incorrect Rank Insignia on Police Officers
Robert Kirkland's, Captain Walker, wears captain bars on the collar of his uniform, while wearing Sergeant stripes on the sleeves of the same uniform. There are no police agency in existence that would ever wear two different ranks on their uniform. This is a huge gaffe by the technical advisors on this series.

During the movie, Lane Frost is interviewed by real life sportscaster and rodeo announcer, George Michael.
There is sad connection between announcer George Michael, actor Luke Perry (who portrays Lane Frost), and the real Lane Frost. All three have passed away.

Steve McQueen
THE GREAT ESCAPE, released in 1963, is the first of two movies that Steve McQueen starred in, in which he was obsessed with escaping from prison. Both movies were inspired by actual events.
THE GREAT ESCAPE is based on members of the American and British allied forces who were held prisoner in a German Prisoner of War camp during World War 2.
The second movie is PAPILLON, released in 1973. This movie is based on the real life story of Henri "Papillon" Charriere, who was a French convict serving a life sentence in the French Guyana penal system, including the infamous Devil's Island.

When the three astronauts escape in the jet aircraft, Astronaut Charles Brubaker (James Brolin) tells the other astronauts that all they have to do is make it to a city where people can see them, indicating that the false story of their deaths would be exposed. However, as experienced NASA pilots, arguably among the elite in their profession, they should have known that they could have easily used the aircraft's radio to contact someone, thus revealing that they were in fact still alive.

In S4: E9 "The Fall", singer Carrie Underwood performs a song during the All Valley Tournament. Underwood, who is an Oklahoma Native born in Muskogee and raised in Checotah, tells the tournament crowd, "I didn't see a lot of Karate growing up in Oklahoma."
Ironically, Oklahoma has a long history of martial arts.
Martial artist and movie actor Chuck Norris, who is arguably the most famous martial artist ever, is from the small town of Ryan, Oklahoma.
Also, Century Martial Arts Company, which provides uniform, bags and equipment for the Cobra Kai show, has been located in Oklahoma City since the company was founded by Michael Dillard in 1976. You can see the Century company's logo many times throughout the series.
Coincidentally, Century's founder, Michael Dillard, had a small role in Chuck Norris' movie, "Lone Wolf McQuade", portraying one of the three opponents actor David Carradine fights in a ring at the race track.

During the search for Eric LeMarque, the helicopter pilot incorrectly describes LeMarque's height as being 6'3" tall. However, Eric LeMarque is actually only 5'10" tall.
Public Enemies (2009)
Actress plays similar scenes in two movies.
Marion Corillard had similar scenes in PUBLIC ENEMIES (2009) and BLOOD TIES (2013).
In both scenes, she was brought into a room where an officer was awaiting, and was asked to sit down for some unwanted news.
In PUBLIC ENEMIES, she portrayed gangster John Dillinger's girlfriend, Billie Frechette, and was given a final message from John, by one of the federal FBI agents who shot and killed him.
In BLOOD TIES, she played Marion.

In 1973, the United States Marine Corps released a 25 minute video covering Marine recruits at Boot Camp Training Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, (MCRDSD), located at Camp Pendleton, California.
The training video is narrated by Jack Webb, who was a World War 2 veteran, having served in the United States Army Air Corps. Webb's most famous motion-picture role was as the combat-hardened Marine Corps drill instructor at Parris Island in the 1957 film, "The D. I."
