Poorly conceived and executed...
2 February 2005
I saw this movie at a private screening and found it to be truly awful. Not that I have a problem with low budget movies, many low budget films offer good plot, acting and strong narrative. The problem with this movie is that it offered none of these things. The acting was informally atrocious, the plot made no sense and had holes you could drive a truck through. the only reason I gave it one was because I can't give it 0 on this rating system. Please, everyone who enjoy's movies give this "film" a wide birth.

I would advise the writer of this mess to enrol in a screenplay writing course if they want to continue to pursue a career as a writer for film.

I would also urge the actors to learn how to act. I'm sure they tried their best though as it is obviously their first crack at it.

On the plus side I hope the people involved have learned their lesson from this debacle.

I am sure that their next effort will be an improvement on this muddled film and with time they will find a voice, so to speak. Many other bad first time films have been made, "Sample People" comes to mind for instance. But to waste time on a plot that makes no sense is quite pointless.

Glober you are the one who missed the point, you obviously didn't read my review properly and it's you not I, who does not understand film-making. Considering how many stars you gave this movie you are clearly one of the creators of it, the writer I'd say.

Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000)
Great show, sadly cancelled.

After having read the last 20 or so comments, I gotta say that you have all said everything I feel about that show. It was 100 times better than the "Wonder years" though.

Maybe 18 shows was enough, could they have maintained such a high standard?

Still, this show, revealed what television can be at it's best.

Villain (1971)
Solidly acted gangster movie.

I saw this movie about 15 years ago, so it is somewhat hazy now. But I remember it had a cast of solid British character actors. It also possessed an aura of menace and creulty that went from Vic Dakin down through the rest of the cast. The dialogue was tough and believable, as was the violence. The Dakin character was obviously based on Ronnie Kray, but so what, the Krays were topical at the time.

I enjoyed this film. It certainly stands up against the drek of today. I am sick and tired of violence and gangster's being treated with clever and stylistic humour.

Excellent.

A thorough retrospective from Australia's best singer song writer.

I just wish the collection could have included more of the "Boys next door" other than that small gripe, no complaints.
