This documentary shows the destructive power one man can have.
4 April 2006
There are some rough parts to watch, such as seeing some of Ron's relatives sink lower into their misery and not being able (or choosing not) to find a way out to help themselves or their own children. One man started a powerful fall for his family, and it was good to see one victim confront the evil. Melvin thought he did nothing wrong, and unfortunately, most of his kids also thought he did nothing wrong. Melvin is a prime example of someone who should not contribute to the "gene pool." It was unfortunate to see that his reign of terror did not end with his death or convalescence, but at least it has begun to stop with Ron's generation. I would recommend this movie for anyone who has had some form of sexual abuse in his/her life, and see what can be done to escape it.

The ultimate "bitch" movie!!!
6 January 2003
Never in the history of movies (except, maybe, for "Absolutely Fabulous") has the cat-fights between actresses been so sophisticated and bitchy at the same time! Anne Baxter and Better Davis are fantastic as the competing actresses, and the supporting cast does a great job stirring the pot even more! A great movie for a rainy day, sunny, or a Tuesday. Watch this movie and see where many of today's "soap" operas and dramas draw their strength. Could Alexis and Krystal on "Dynasty" easily have been replaced by Margo and Eve? Could J.R. Ewing draw his rapier wit and cunning from Addison? And it's always a delight seeing Marilyn Monroe in a role that Hollywood made for her, and which she did so well.

LOVED the movie!

I saw the movie some years ago on video, and I just came across it's listing on IMDB. It has that dark, "film noir" edge that comes across VERY well on the small screen. It also helps knowing the star, Joe Zaso. I've known him for some years, and have always enjoyed his performances.

Great, "Feel-good" movie!

Saw the movie in the theater and on video, as well as downloading the soundtrack; looks and sounds better every time I see it! Steve Zahn kills me as Lenny, and Tom Everett Scott really captures the "beatnik" look of the early 60's. A great movie to watch, and an even better soundtrack to hear!
