Girls' Play (2024)
Good Ending... At Least
By curiosity, we started this series. We were not very impressed by the first two episodes. There were many weird stuff happening that needed more elaboration. For example, why did Lay and for no reason take a walk alone in a jungle?... It was also unrealistic and at first shocking to have a Syrian wealthy girl in a Lebanese school.... However, the acting was good so we were patient. Eventually, after a few episodes, things started to become interesting.
The last three episodes are very nice in terms of plot and suspense. So I ask everyone to be patient with this series. You will love the ending!
Wilderness (2023)
You will hate the ending!
I wish I can say the opposite but that was six hours wasted. The ugly thing about this series is that it gives the wrong message which is that the criminal is not punished, whereas the fool is set to 25 years in prison.
The story is about a newlywed English couple who moved to New York. The husband is tall and handsome. The wife is petite and a bit traditional. She definitely wants this marriage to succeed in order not to end up like her divorced lonely mother. So she is nosy, looking at her husband's messages and emails, until she tumbles upon a suspicious message from another woman. Then the trouble begins!
The Tender Bar (2021)
It Could Have Been Better!
Skipping intros and straight to the point:
The Good: Young JR is cute and Uncle Charlie (a bar manager) is the mentor. All went well here.
The Bad: Adult JR has no physic resemblance to his young self. This is the early 80s and he is Immediately attracted to a black girl at Yale (unreal!). The girl's parents are mixed color: White father and black mother - Also unreal (married in the 60s). JR never looked at any other girl. By the way, the sex scene was completely unnecessary.
The End: Unfinished business. After graduation, JR had a slow start and some failures. After a year or two, he decided to move to NYC. And that's it! Maybe a Part 2 would be interesting.
The Man in the High Castle (2015)
Thank you Rufus Sewell...
I love the first 2 seasons. The plot was incredibly shocking. The actor Rufus Sewell (John Smith) is definitely the star of the series. A fascinating character that talks to you with his eyes. The first runner up is of course Joel de la Fuente as Inspector Kido. On the other hand, the weakness of the series is the character of Juliana Crain played by Alexa Davalos. She was ok in Season 1 but her character turned to annoying upto Season 4.
Despite some unnecessary scenes in Season 3 made just to satisfy the diversity dilemma of the West, I give this show 9 Stars for the great and unbelievable moments it provided.
