Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Spaceship!!!!!!!!
If your complaining about the new Indy movie being ridiculous and over the top. May i remind you people that THE OTHER ONES WERE THE SAME!!! For example, the first one "Raiders" where there faces were melted off at the end. Or the second one where he grabs his heart directly out of his body. Without force. You have to expect to suspend some level of disbelief when your watching, not just Indiana Jones, but any of these type of movies.
Oh, and by the way, the spaceship rocked!!!! Just when i thought it could en't get anymore colossal....
All in all, if your looking for a film which not only relives the old classical witty Indy, but also includes new fun and creative ideas, this is your film.
Ben and Adam xxxx P.S if any parts of that review sucked, it was Adams fault.
Nathan Barley (2005)
Not so brilliant as you think
Most fans of Nathan Barley defend the show from its critics on the grounds that its an "oh so brilliant satire". Well, i hate to disappoint you but the satire don't enter into it this time.
Sitcoms aren't really an appropriate area for satire. Satire usually forms in sketch shows or (god forbid) panel shows. You could have moments in sitcoms which are directly satirical but you should en't make it the emphasis of your entire screenplay. Because then you lose the most important part of a sitcom script and thats the characters (Who were about as "realistic" as talking fish).
What amazed me was how much Chris Morris has lost touch with his common satirical roots. This was obviously advertising itself as a satire but was in no way. For a start Barleys form of sub media twunt doesn't exist outside of Hoxton. And even if they did its not as if there are millions of them crawling around the place.
Bottom line: Failed as a satire, failed as a sitcom and failed as a comedy. Draw your own conclusions.
My Wrongs 8245-8249 and 117 (2002)
Sub jam Toss
If Jam suddenly squatted down and did a massive turd My Wrongs would be the result.
Awful awful piece of film. It just had NO reason to exist. No story, no characterisation and most importantly no jokes. Paddy Considine is normally a great actor but he just wasn't on form here. Morrises voice talents were wasted. The only ray of hope was a brief (and wasted) vocal cameo from Phil Cornwell.
This was billed as comedy but it was just completely devoid of ANY humour. Go on My Wrong fans, tell me your favourite moment?
