CHiPs (1977–1983)

perfectly mindless

My dad has made me watch a couple episodes of this, Now sitting down and watching an episode of it, particularly if you have short attention span, will probably make you more bored than you would have been if you were instead just staring at a wall for 45 minutes. Half of these said 45 minutes are needlessly extended chase scenes or 2 minute long dancing or roller skating scenes and dialogue that just drones on.

That being said its perfect for putting on while drawing or cleaning, or any other primary occupation. You can go like 5 minutes without looking at the screen and not miss anything but still look up every so often to see an old shiny car being wrecked or exploded or maybe a somewhat interesting back-and-forth between whatever these guys names are

Im sure theres probably a good amount of episodes with actual substance and its definitely peak nostalgia for any 70s kids but if you give most of these more than 60% of your attention span youd be better off putting something else on.

Swan Song (II) (2021)

surprisingly really good

This movie is actually wayy better than i thought it would be. When i read the plot i thought it would be nothing special, and although it is slightly slow paced i was never bored. The jokes are amazing, even better preformed by udo kier. He was truly the perfect man they ever could have casted to play a colorful old gay man.

My only real hangup is how some of the gay characters are somewhat stereotypes. Dont get me wrong sometimes gay stereotypes can be played off well but all of the stereotypical ones are that one strange boring flamboyant valley accent type, which i found suuper boring and shallow but aside from that this is a great watch.

Our Flag Means Death (2022–2023)

one of the best shows ive seen so far

This show is such a peculiar, amazing little masterpiece. The humor is always on point, its so fresh and original, almost every character is likable and funny, and the actors were PERFECTLY cast. Taika watiti and rhys darby (and pretty much every actor) poured their absolute heart and soul into this show and it pays off so well. Ill admit it doesnt really get that good until after episode 3 but it really came out swinging once it got on track. The queer representation is also some of the best ive ever seen without the words gay, trans, non-binary or any other lgbt word even mentioned once. Perfect example of "show dont tell" and i absolutely can not wait for season 2.

The Umbrella Academy (2019–2024)

highly enjoyable show

So i binged all 3 (current) seasons of this show in around a couple days, after a close friend reccomended it to me. I found it to be very clever and funny with its characters and writing, but able to hit the sad moments well.

Thats not to say i dont have a few problems with it, however. Most of them being after season 2 namely, the plot of season 3 felt a little out of place to me. This "sparrow academy" thing felt so unnatural and forced since they introduced like 7 new characters and all of them died (except sloan and the new ben)) before they even got 5 seconds of screen time. Sloan is so plain and boring and they made ben really unlikable, and the same goes for the rest of the sparrow academy which i get is because were supposed to be rooting against them but with all the other villains there were i actually enjoyed seeing them on screen

Season 3 did have some good charcter development arcs however, like klaus and reginald, sissys son (forgot his name) and viktor. I think they absolutely killed any chance of me liking luthers character though because they made him a plain and boring straight white guy just like sloan.

I could go on and on about stuff like that in season 3 but i cant express enough how much i enjoyed the first 2 seasons. The show has strong characters and great humor so overall i give it a solid 8/10.
