Is it bad? No... Is it good? No...
17 April 2023
It's a missed chance of a good movie... but it could have gone either way: It needed to be more "serious" and more gore, or it could have gone to more dumb and funny...

Instead, the movie is on the fence, never deciding to do anything better with the material...

Feels rushed and low budget, like an 80's low budget movie, but fails to impress a veteran of horror movies.

If you catch for free, yeah, watch it... paying any amount is not ok though.

At least, the acting by the kids is good enough, the movie needed better direction/script and a decision to be insane and funny or serious and dark, not the middle term.

Eggcellet!
18 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
... Funny, Cute, Deep...

Unlike some that claims it to be horror, it's fun and dramatic enough... I lol'd with the Hard Boiled egg that is tough!

It's the nature of food to be eaten! The final is satisfactory! I wish there were more stuff like this for kids, so they could learn something and still be fun for adults to watch.

Although, the narrative will be lost on kids they can watch it along adults with no problem (only mild cartoon violence)

I highly recommend it on netflix as a pass time that you don't need to commit to big plots or complex plots, fun innocent and cute.

. A Big YES!! .

This movie is nuts!
27 July 2016
I was looking for this movie for years!!! I gave 5 out of nostalgia...

Seems like they intended to make a porn, but changed idea mid production (there is no nude nor sex scene, but you know a porn movie when you watch that goofy characters, conversations, low value and bad acting...

So, about the movie, the idea is brilliant! Just Horribly executed!! Sometimes the acting is so ridiculous that you laugh out loud (I did).

I wish they made a movie with this story, just well done this time... Imagine a Sound of thunder, but better done, maybe JJ Abrams...

dinos, time travel, and goofiness... what you need more?

Best HP Lovecraft adaptation to date!
4 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
First you need to know that they made this film to look like it was made in the 30's or so... even credits, music, etc. Also, if you put budget in perspective the Effects and the Acting is very good. Some complain of over-acting... but in the 30's they all over-acted... if you seen one, or just a little bit of an old movie you will know...

OK, now the story: I thought it would be impossible to make an adaptation to Whisperer in Darkess, one of my favorite HPL... I was wrong... This movie gets very good the intention, but lacks something I don't know what... Maybe the dialog by letters was better and kept me on the edge of my seat... but the movie don't have it, it is like the movie starts after they exchanged letters and all...

Also, I think in the HPL story they don't tell much what the aliens are doing or purpose... in this movie it is very well explained. The ending run away too far from original, could be a car instead of a plane... would be more realistic. But I liked, in a way this ending is more "lovecraft" than the original story...

The only way it could be better was if they could get the "mood", the creepy atmosphere from description in the letters of the places, situations and all... (the only way I know to do it is by flashbacks, that would get too boring after the second letter and would have the fate of "The Resurrected" movie has.)

In the end I give it 9, can't get any better for the budget and I dislike the little girl part...

The worst part was waiting 5 years to see...
10 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
First heard of it in 2008 when was promised as "the first Brazilian zombie movie"... In that time there were many reports about it, much hype was created.

And then came the waiting and reports (when happened) that lead to more disappointments, as some of the story was unveiled... Then came not one or two, but many zombie films set in Brazil...

This one became so boring, it doesn't make any sense, most of the acting is bad and the zombies, when show up, are just plain stupid.

I've only seen it this year (2013) and I was Very disappointed by it, and a little embarrassed as they are so pretentious to show it up outside of Brazil first... and fail...

I hope they never make a movie again...

This game is great!
11 December 2009
This game is great! And by a secure margin, it's better than 99% of adaptations of Lovecraft's stories to the cinema...

And I don't have even finished it yet...

For nowadays kind of game, the Graphics aren't the best, of course, this one is from 2005...

But even that can't ruin the game, it's tense, and frightening.

But it requires full working brain to finish without any walk-through, but I can't say if you will finish it with your brain intact... :)

This is a must if you ever wanted to play a great tense movie, ops, game :)

Troll 2 (1990)

One of the worst movie ever...
3 December 2009
Yes, I've seen it. But for my defense, I watched it on Local TV (No cable at that time) and was in mid 90's... Well the program tells all: "Cine Trash". :)

I remember, I was 8-9 years and even in that time one thing I thought the Trolls was made of cheap brown-paper...

And even on that age, the plot seems ridiculous...

In My opinion, is THE WORST movie I've seen EVER!

But if you can, do it... watch at your own risk, it's a mental illness maker.

Then Post in the Board: I Watched it And Survived!

Another Movie Mistake
6 February 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Not bad Bond movie and effects at all, but they once again made Brasil looks like Mexico... Also I think it's because of Marlboro and 7up Sponsorship.

A real shame, they don't even bother to ask an Brazilian how is his own country... and they came here to film... :( The movie made the biggest mistake when start the Marlboro music and Bond came on a horse like an Western Movie (this don't exist in Brasil and never was)

I wonder how many countries have been mistaken in movies, may be even Unite States it's not what appear in movies...

But after all, it's not bad Bond movie and the soundtrack and effects are better than previous Roger Moore movies.

Good, but not as the first one.
17 November 2008
Good, but not as the first one and miles away of Godfather or Shawshank.

This movie have some ridiculous scenes, the two boats scene for example. What they tried to say? The USA people prefer die than blow criminals??? or Even the prisoners in USA are good people??? I am sure that if it was for real, the two boats would blow at the same time.

If wasn't the Heath Ledger's death, this one would got less rating than the first one.

I'm not saying this is bad, I'm saying this is not so good as the rating make you believe.
