Little Mosque on the Prairie (2007)
What were they THINKING!!
A priest who is this vengeful, hateful, spiteful, arrogant and RUDE! If the purpose of the show was to show how two different religions can be tolerant..and be funny. It was GREAT for the first 4 seasons. I love the show, but I find myself white-knuckling it through episodes S4 E16-18. It's pure Christian bulls-hit. Although it was made pre-T**** era United States it speaks to the heart of modern Christianity. There is NO hate like Christian HATE!
When I first started watching LMOTP I was curious. I had just ventured to Canada and through a college religion course catholic college we were required to experience different religions. Yes, I know a TV show isn't a way to learn about religion, but to be clear, I was doing a deeper dive. I found the first 4 seasons hilarious...the wheels fell off the bus with the changing of the Christian guard so to speak. I found the new priest just hateful. If this was an intro for Muslims on Christianity... it's simply not the message. As I work my way through the next few episodes and the final season... let's see if we can right the comedic ship.
Masameer County (2021)
Who knew Saudi Arabia had such enjoyable shows!
I know little of Saudi culture, but this shoes! Afunnts hilarious. I did not expect these types of storyline. In the United States we are exposed to very little of the culture...it's opened my eyes. I only wish I could learn Arabic. I want to know what they are REALLY saying. Airport know learning japanese/Korean/some French/German/Danish made shows much more enjoyable. I often find there is always something missing in the translation. There are always things that just don't cross cultural barriers. I'm 3 episodes in and hoping Netflix continues with the series. We'll done. WE NEED MUCH MORE!!
