A consortium of values
15 May 2023
Eyes closed and breathe deeply, thus capturing all the smells of the mountain, the smell of grass, of the lively wind that brushes your face, the acrid smell of wood, and the smell of friendship similar to the intense one of a chimney. This is the scent of the film "The eight mountains" that takes you along dirt roads, paths already experienced, up to the highest mountain refuge to see the panorama of your life path. Pietro, his father and his friend Bruno climb one of the eight mountains contained in the eight segments of the earth, each of which contains your highest value of life. Maria Pia.

A carousel of memories of youth
8 May 2023
A carousel of the time, that of the 70s, relived with good photography, with props and costumes that better separate the boundaries with modern times in which the now mature Marzio singer and eternal dreamer draws an account of his failures, lost affections, professional and relational failures told in a way as moving as a slow-motion feature film. The introspective dialogue of the narrator opens these memories that the director Pupi Avati has been able to intertwine until they become the only common thread that keeps the destinies of the three young protagonists of the story linked. A seance and witty
4 May 2023
You're already trapped by bewitching filmic photography and powerful set design that leaves no room for couch distractions. Facts of paranormal phenomena told in a story of great suspense with a gripping crescendo, mysterious, breathless, but at the same time graceful thanks to the indistinguishable Spanish irony of the three female heroines who also allow you to smile in moments of jolt during some scenes of high tension in the second part of the story supported by an irrepressible, handsome, robust and conciliatory sound like the deeds of the three women who alone save their ..... Kaleidoscope of memories
27 April 2023
Nanni Moretti creates a game of interpretations of himself by building a double vision of satire such as split screen, one with his narrator's voice, and in the other criticisms, ironies, melancholies, professional successes and private failures. A film within a film from the '50s to bear witness to the decadence of politics, while Giovanni mismanages his marriage, jeopardizing the film produced by his wife Paola. Everything is resolved with red flags in a parade with famous actors, Jasmine Trinca to with Renato Carpentieri during the march in a revival of the ideologies of the time. Maria Pia.

A THEATRICAL KALEIDOSCOPE
9 April 2023
A man attends by pure chance the rehearsals of a theatrical piece inspiring himself for his new work. For him, this show takes the form of a painting within another painting like a kaleidoscope that mixes life with theatre, writing with literature, actors with ordinary people. The disarming strangeness with which the amateur actors try to keep the theater group together and complete the show, inspires this witness to write his new work to which he gives the title "Six characters in search of an author" by Pirandello who invites the actors at first unaware of such empirical foundation. On the road of Babylon
9 April 2023
The evolutionary reconstruction of cinema since the 1920s. The director Damien Chazelle becomes a painter of a time frame on canvas with the most voluptuous and trivial scenes of vices and virtues as if it were a Guernica of American cinema. Scenes that recall the great Colossals such as the mammoth sets with a strong visual impact, rich and luxuriant Babylonians, little incisive and very showy dialogues, chases with classic actions of American cinema. An irrepressible sound that seems to enjoy a life of its own. A breathless 3h 9m tale of the dreamers of the great Hollywood cinema. Maria Pia.

Pop up installations
8 April 2023
Going to museums and seeing static installations does not convey what they might be like if they were alive. The director Mimmo Palladino adapts his works to the cinema, giving them filmic movement in different shows, each of which is interpreted by well-known theater and cinema actors, narratively intertwined by a mix between a classic like the Divine Comedy of Dante and the iconography of the Scene of the Nativity. The panoramic tracking shots retrace the projection of a spectator's gaze as if he were wearing a 3D viewer immersed in a bucolic story of the Italian territories. By Maria Pia C.

A match with fate
6 April 2023
An almost autobiographical docufilm of a teenager whose bond with his parents who died in a domestic accident is tragically broken, of which he survived only because in the meantime he was at the stadium to see his idol Maradona.

A chronological account of the facts with a parallel path that also tells the love for football which has become an all-round salvation for him, and the young man who is now a devotee makes it a path of faith that leads him to make choices following his own order of belief much more profane than sacred, and which makes him grow faster in the adult world. A journey among strangers
5 April 2023
Dangerous appointments with friends and relatives that inflame the psychological dynamics of those who have always kept silent about the truth about the value of their emotional ties. The directors Edoardo Leo and Massimiliano Bruno retrace the authorial success of the film Perfect Strangers by Paolo Genovese in four stops (episodes). The two hours and 5 minutes of this journey were at times disrupted with scenarios already seen, and the travelers, each with a different destination, all had the same face of resignation, weariness and impatience with social systems as all commuters. A concerts of memories
2 April 2023
Touching, delicate, insistently slow that gives you the perception that the rest of the time no longer belongs to you. The conductor Mario De Seta finds in music the hiding place that protects him from the loss of his wife and from the abandonment of his daughter. The director Giuseppe A. Nuzzo takes him back to the most fascinating places in Naples to accompany him to the bedside of the young Michela in saying goodbye one last time in a flashback of memories with dreamlike sequence shots to soothe his guilt feelings that force Mario to mix his memories with a disease called Alzheimer's. The desire to escape
29 March 2023
In the film's immediate opening, the director reveals the criminal nature of police officer Harry Callaghan in his pursuit of the killer, while also battling inept colleagues in their investigative work. Nicknamed "Herry the Badass", in this war between good and evil, Siegel expresses his anti-racist thinking with African - American actors in good and bad roles and skin makes no difference. Siegel uses overhead shots for a larger overview in his search for Scorpio, and the cop doesn't leave a meter uncovered. The exterior shots, chases and overbearing sound make the viewers gasp. Rewind of sound and ideas
29 March 2023
Thanks to the careful and accurate direction in the sets and photography, it tells the story of the Frattasio brothers of the regime that exists in their neighborhood to then see them organize their idea of social redemption - Erry copies music on the radio, with his brothers and breaks all commercial schemes until then giving birth to the world of piracy - The director Sibilia with the use of long shots allowed the viewer to immerse himself in those years through the reconstruction of period objects that frame the protagonists who seem to move inside a photo album of memories - by Maria Pia C.

A dedication of love
29 March 2023
An excellent photograph that tell of the love for a city seen with respect that can be shown to an elderly mother and that the protagonist has been forced to abandon both. The friendship of a brotherly friend convinces him to return to settle the misunderstandings. Felice wants to feel in his body the passion and ardor of his city he savored as a child and that with the elegance of medium shot shots throughout the city the director Martone has been able to inject into his veins like the blood flow of the alleys that will give him strength and energy to choose whether to stay at a high price. Maria Pia.
