Tries too hard to be everything.

Oh god - it's got to get better - no it didn't

This is a TV show that tries too hard to be everything and in the end it's a nothing show.

If it was just drama it may have succeeded but trying to be a comedy, drama, thriller and more it falls flat.

The acting is second rate (and that's being generous) and the storyline is barely passable.

I'd recommend that you wait until it's free to air (and even then that's too expensive) to watch this tripe.

A much better movie is Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (OK a movie not a TV series - but still a much better story line).

This is an honest review of the series and if you do pay to watch this junk, then it's at your peril.

Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back (2023)

You think they'd learn from the first title

I saw this today in the cinemas with my two young boys (after spending nearly $60)!

What a piece of cr@p this movie was. One of my children wanted to go to the toilet (I had no issue with leaving this screening).

Unfortunately, I had to go back in and watch it with my other son. He told me when it finished, it was rubbish and he was not happy I made him sit through the movie.

It was BAD - the story, the animation, the flow of the movie didn't have any redeeming features. I literally almost fell asleep during the screening.

It tried to be a cross between The Matrix and Batman. Unfortunately, it failed on both counts. Giving it a 4 star rating is being generous. Don't believe the 2 critics who give it colourful ratings (I'm sure they have been paid to give good reviews).

Save your money and wait for VOD or watch another title at the cinema.

Squid Game: The Challenge (2023– )

BAD...

This is NOTHING like the original series (which I thought was engrossing).

People are being killed throughout this series and most of the time, they are not convincing in their acting. The actors are mostly in the 20-30 age group and don't seem phased about the chance of living and dying.

They act in the series as if it's a TV game show and not as a real opportunity to live or die (like the original).

I gave it a chance to prove itself (4 episodes in) and I lost interest (I didn't read the reviews before I watched it). How I wish I had read the reviews before I wasted my time watching this tripe.

The makers of this series should have given up before they wasted their time and money in making this series.

Do yourself a favour and watch the original and not this lame extension.

Sisu (2022)

16 minutes in and it gives you a taste of what's to come.

As the title says, 16 minutes into the movie and I can tell that I'm going to enjoy it.

There are minimal special effects, no camera tricks and no over the top CGI scenes found in many modern movies.

It's a gruesome movie - one which will polarize viewers into two camps. I fall into the first one. It's a one man show.

If you liked such movies as "Rambo" (the initial one), The Good The Bad and the Ugly and Pulp Fiction, then I'm sure that you you will enjoy watching this title.

The Nazi's should have turned back when they had the chance but greed got the better of them and they all paid the price.

The only fault (if you can call it that) is that the lead character doesn't speak Finnish.

The Tourist (2022–2024)

Excellent writing and acting

I'm up to episode 3 of the series one and I'm hooked. It's a "guess who" throughout the series.

There's violence and bloodshed but in limited doses and used when needed. Lots of language is used but again, when required.

Each of the characters has certain traits that either endear or turn you off the actors. The policewoman and the Irish traveller carry the main parts of the series.

I have read that there's a series two coming out but I have not found the details at this stage. I can only recommend binging on series one at this time. It's a great TV series and the writers and actors deserve praise for an excellent show.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)

If I could give it 0 stars I would.

This had an interesting premise (by the title).

I should have followed the reviews (3.5 as of 25/3/23).

After the first two minutes it went downhill (fast).

It was an awful movie - acting, special effects, story line, talking (by the female actors). Nothing could have saved this movie to make it become viewable.

As another reviewer said, sometimes the masks that the protaganists use ride up, revealing human skin below.

I honestly urge you to give this movie (and I use the word loosely) a wide berth and watch something that's at least viewable (I'm watching "The Night Guard" at the moment - it's a bit long but must more viewable than this drivel).
