Living with Chucky (2022)
Chucky from a Chucky fan & insider
Excellent overview of the history of Chucky. I'm incredibly jealous I didn't get to direct this myself. The heart is there and not a second is wasted. The nostalgia as a 90's kid is felt with each interview. It's endearing hearing stories of the cast and crew and how these films formed and affected families.
If you're a big fan of the series, this is exactly what you're hoping it is. You also get a small glimpse of how the industry functions in general. Overall, it's a human story with a horror franchise at its center.
I took away a star because I cringed each time those DVDs were handled and how poorly the disc tray was closed. There's no excuse for that.
9/10 Good Guy Dolls. The other one went missing...
Clerks III (2022)
It's exactly what it needs to be...
This movie is a perfect 10 in Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse. The first Clerks is personal to Kevin and the person he was. Clerks 3 is the perfect closure to the trilogy and who Kevin has become.
You can't always get fanservice right. It's a tough task that leads to a lot of gratuitous and souless moments. It's very apparent Kevin did this one equally for himself as his longtime followers. The latest Jay & Bob was amusing, but this movie is pure heart and nostalgia, while moving everything forward.
Give the first two a rewatch. If you still love them, you're in for a treat. This is what you get when you truly write from deep within. It's still silly and obscene at times, but always stays grounded. Get the tissues ready.
Legion: Chapter 25 (2019)
Remembering...
I was asking myself last episode if we'd ever see these characters again. It was a beautiful moment catching up with these characters. The season has been wonderful and yes, we only have two episodes left... I thought this break from "reality" was a nice touch and truly fun.
It's time to say goodbye and I'm happy I got to spend more time with them.
