Liu lang di qiu 2 (2023)
Boring....
I am typing this review during the movie and will leave after penning this review. It's really quite terrible & too boring to watch till the end.
There is little development of the characters in the movie, so much so you don't care what actually happens to them. This sadly includes Andy Lau.
The overuse of cgi also makes it's difficult to watch. The story is not well developed and everything happens too quickly and makes one detached from the movie.
The start of the movie has some action scenes. Even with the heavy use of cgi, it is less than impressive.
The 2nd part of the movie tries to inject some touching element but again it's a yawn..... Felt being conned to watch the show by the good ratings. Next one must see the review of the lower ratings before deciding to watch a movie.
One clap (out of 10).

Tin lung baat bou (2023)
Terrible terrible terrible effort.
Donnie Yen should not direct or produce his own movies. The movie is so amateurishly shot with many corny one-liners. The whole purpose of the show seems to glorify the lead actor and has achieved it to the bemusement of the audience.
The plot is revealed in an incoherent way and sometimes you were made to wonder what has just happened? Towards the end of the show, many scenes are shown to make sense of what has just happened. A amateurish way of story telling.
The CGI in the movie only cheapen rather than enhanced a proper martial arts movie.
Apparently there is a sequel to this awfully long and painful movie to sit through.
A 1-clap (out of 10) production

Duk sit dai jong (2023)
One of the rare HK movies in recent years that is worth watching
The script/plot, the acting and the pacing of the movie are top notch. It does a very good job in not reviewing the key plot until the very end. A climax is built up till the final showdown in the courtroom.
It certainly does not feel like a 2.25h movie and it's entertaining from the start till the end. Much effort has been put into crafting the dialogue between the barristers which does not make it corny but totally refreshing.
Feels like one of the very good HK movie in its golden era in the 80s. It deserves a film award and best actor award.
A 10 clap production.
