Mammoth (2009)
A emotional drama with a message
The message of the movie seems to be to be more critical on our daily consumption and about the way globalism works. But not only that, the movie shows us the uncut version of our own race's social interactions. That we are not behaving like we pretend to be (a nice and good person). That there are countries like the Phillipines were boys and girls have to work inside the garbage to eat dirt or engage with tourists in bed to survive. While Jackie (Ellens daughter) lives in something close to paradise, the two sons of Gloria lives in a poor environment in the Phillipines. But thanks to Glorias work in the USA, the sons (i believe age 6 and 9) don't need to do mentioned things. The downside is that she has to be in the USA far away from her children. Leo and Ellen live together with their daughter but they seem at times to be as disconnected from her as Gloria from her children due to their time hungry jobs.
The movie seems to be at times open to dramatize things which in a way goes a bit into fantasy in my opinion (especially towards the end). But if you can let this unconventional (or non linear) drama movie happen as it is (sit back and just watch and feel), then this will not bother you.
About the main characters (little info about them):
Leo: Business man, a real one but also a nerd (he owns a major game site), discovers Indonesia on a business trip. Not always the empathic nice guy he seems to be. On the outside the most empathic business man you could find.
Ellen: Empathic all the way through. Always trying to care about everything. She works as a doctor and is almost in a burnout like situation because of her dual duty.
Gloria: The best nanny out there. Invests much time with Jackie
Jackie: Much like her mother. (But with more freetime ;) Has a major bound with Gloria.
Salvador (the elder son of Gloria): A depressed boy who wants to be with his mother, he would do many things for that to happen.
Cookie: More than just a prostitutiate.
Orphan: First Kill (2022)
The main actor fits in perfectly in a relatively imaginable story
The movie is good in my opinion - opposite to many criticial voices - because the main character - psychopathic Esther - not only looks like a children, she acts like a psychopath real good. You really see the evil in her. She is smart, evil, loves her adoptive father and she really loves him, so much that she wants to kill her adoptive mother. The Movie in the first part was not that thrilling, but it got better when she started to hurt family members. I guess the evil in her makes the movie brilliant. When you begin to love her and love the psychopathic Esther you start to like the movie and see it through her eyes. You becomes Esther. The sudden turn mid movie and the end was also really vibrant. I thought she really was a children and that children in a scene sat in a car smoking and racing while making her lips while the song "Maniac" was playing in the background. I found this movie better than the first. The movie is a 8.
Léon (1994)
Leon and Matilda are evils and angels at the same
While No one should Approve real Love between Children and unknown men, Leon and Matilda are connected and Love each other because both are in for a common cause: they are the victims of the evil and need Love they never got. For the First time Matilda met Leon after she got violated. They live in the same building. The Encounter at the stairs was a short and sad one, but why was it sad? I asked me why I can feel sad for Leon, a murderer who rarely showed any emotion to Matilda, more to a plant. He would move to another flat and all He would Bring was a plant. We See him spraying This plant with water and cleaning it several times. And we See the plant at the end one Last time.
When Leon let Matilda in His flat after Something Bad happened to her parents, you See a man who wants to get rid of Matilda, who hated himsels for opening the door for her. Who Had No Heart. But during the movie I felt Magic: Matilda Managed somehow to find a cold heart in the chest of Leon and she Turned it Alive again. The numb man Suddenly began to smile. He showed emotions. The Movie is melancholic and the end is wonderful. The music is great too. And a ugly plant owned by Leon certainly will becoming a big trees, at least This is what Matilda wants to Tell us when she Looks Up to the trees at the end. Both are great actors. This is a Love between a child and a man or a murderer. He Made her a Killer too, but the movie Made it as If it is good only what both are doing. And It is because of the other murderers in the movie. They have No Heart and Soul, especially one serial Killer. And Matilda and Leon have a heart. A big difference.
This is one of the movies you know will have No Happy end. And This Movie has No Happy, or does it? Your Tears will flow and that's for Sure a Happy end. Or it is Not?
M3GAN (2022)
Cool Story unfortunately Missing reality and authentic Emotion
The beginning is weak. The puppet is Into Action only after 40 or so minutes Into the movie. The end is boring too, too predictable. The Story itself is really great. The puppet can scan the facial expressions of Humans for emotions f.e. And has a great camera (zoom) Lens in the eyes. The puppet is called M3gan. The aunt ist totally unable to Take care for child Kathy and so she have to give her M3gan which she programmed. But M3gan is programmed to kill and Stop and remove every threat to Kathy including her aunt. This is because she is supposed to learn her skills, also by accessing Internet Databases. She Sees and hears. She is Getting more information every minute. The mid Part is real good but the First and end Part is lame as hell. I Wish they would have Not let M3gan run after the Bully For example. This is Not supposed to be an science function Movie. Robots are the Future and The Movie could have portraied this perfectly when they would have Made M3gan acting more belivable, when the Movie would Have had reduced other unrealistic scenes, Like the Monster humanoid or the Bully scene. Also the Drama I really missed so much. When M3gan, Kathy and the aunt talk about her killed Parents, you feel sadness. This was a good Point to start giving the viewers a emotional affection to the hole storyline. But in the hole Movie there never was really a bound between Kathy and her aunt. The viewers never Had a Chance to emotionally really feel with M3gan or all Others. And so it was Not Packing. With Kathy we Had a real nice actor to create the emotion and reality of a horrible sad Story we miss Here. The Movie missed to create reality. I mean why would the aunt never and only at the end ask question about M3gan? Marsians could smell that this puppet is Not good for a child. Reality Looks different. 6/10.
Titanic (1997)
A dream rather than a movie
An sad movie, I Had Servere headaches because I cried too much. Sorry for my grammar (German mobile Keyboard)... It began as a regular movie, a very happy movie. Fun only. I watched this movie for the First time this year. But the fun would end soon, when I saw that Rose was deeply unhappy with Cal ... and Jack - after saving her from suicide - was unhappy that he would probably never be able to get her. But this would change when a rebellious Rose would begin to overcome her fear and start to give the passionate Jack a Chance.
But the First class is Not the third class. Cal and his staff would prevent Jack and Rose from seeing them again. Despite this reality the two met again and started to Love each other with No Return.
James Cameron created a movie that showed Drama, Emotion, Hope, hopelessness, death and Rebirth all in once. A 10.
The movie in the First Part succeeded in saving the life of Rose. Jack gave her the Emotion of Joy and happiness she didn't had before. When Jack took her and showed her how to fly and showed her the Stars, Rose became the Star, the comet. I cried, as the grown Lonely Male I am.
The second Part started in a Scene transition. A beautiful ship suddenly Changed in that scene to that ugly wreckage. But in the Last minutes of Joy both Had the best minutes of their lives. As a Viewer you can feel it as If you were Standing next to them. Cal was after them, ready to kill Jack and Take Rose Back. The First class was sometimes evil to the third class men and women, they were nothing to them. But there were exceptions and Rose was one of them, she hated being in this First class only life. You will See it when watching Titanic.
Here is the turning Point, it got sad now. No Happy movie, melancholia only. All the time in the movie There was a old Woman who said she was Rose, she was aboard another ship that searched for a Diamond which was aboard the Titanic. In one brilliant scene transition Rose eyes became her eyes, no more young Rose but the old Woman who was Close to her end.
The end scenes: After the Crash both Jack and Rose were eager to give their life for the other. Like Jack in the suicide attempt scene said to Rose, Rose said the same now: I won't Go without you. Jack was captured by Cals goon and brought to the basement to suffocate. Rose came to the rescue.
Death and Destruction rages, there are people jumping from the vessel. People were dying in the water and in the cabins. And Jack died in the ocean. Rose survived. Jack told her before the crash to life a Happy life. And she lived a free life, hiding from surviving Cal. She survived in the water and told an officer on the land not her but Jacks last Name, and so she was predicted death officially. And the Pictures she Had with her as a old Woman in that other vessel showed that she exactly did it so. Then there was a ....No Happy end ?
Happy end dream.. She would die or dream at least in that other ship that was a Research vessel: the camera showed her Pictures of her Happy Life and Then panned to her her old face and it Then began one more fantastic Transition Into the sea to the wreckage. Suddenly the wreckage became the Sky and there was a Titanic as would never have been a crash. The camera moved through the Deck Into that massive Restaurant with that massive dome. The people there were Standing and seemed to be Frozen until they began to Smile when the camera entered. In that very Same restaurant in which Jack was insulted and in which Jack waited at the stairs for Rose in another touching Scene in the movie. He was now waiting again in this final scene at the stairs. For the Last time. And the third class was also present there, where they normally wasn't allowed to be. The camera Pans towards the stairs. But the camera was Rose. Finally the camera Pans to the right while going Up the stairs and we See her emerging. They do what all Watchers want them to do: they kiss. The First and third class are clapping and the Camera Pans Into the crowd and into the huge transparent Dome and the movie fades Out Into the White... And Then Into black: the Film Ended. I believe in Jesus thanks to the movie.
