The Free Fall (2021)
*Door slams* Who's There?
I have made it less than five minutes into this movie, and I am rolling. I can't fathom who thought this film would be even remotely scary. I was telling myself please, please let the start of this movie be her having some weird nightmare or dream and this isn't how the plot of the film starts? It's how it starts. If you're not into real horror and want to claim you watched a scary movie, this will certainly do it for you. I'd watch this with friends who don't really enjoy horror, but for my horror fanatics - I don't think you'll particularly enjoy this. The acting is meh at best, and the actors try a little TOO hard with the emotions and being scary. I wanted to watch until the end to learn the "plot twist", but I'm not sure I'll make it that far.
Overall: This movies jumps all over, isn't that scary, the plot is ungodly dry, don't bother...read the reviews and let them save some of your time.
A Murder to Remember (2020)
I Can't...What?
I didn't read reviews before starting this movie, and I should have. The acting is not even cheesy, it's poor from almost all of the actors. The script wasn't really character building either. I actually laughed out loud at a scene, not because it was funny, but it was because they tried so hard to make a clip scary in the beginning of the movie, and it's just like wow let me guess he's supposed to be some creepy bad guy? I fast forwarded a little (since I knew I wouldn't be missing much) just to find even a clip or a scene that would grab my attention, but I didn't find anything. Just a ton of EXPECTED, POOR, and PREDICTABLE choices made by the main characters.
Lantern's Lane (2021)
Slash the Ratings
I lost interest within the first five minutes. Acting is cheesy and not the greatest. You can figure out the plot pretty easily if you're an avid horror film fanatic. It can't even be considered one of those funny, super bad, cheesy must watches. For it being a 2022 slasher film (if you want to even call it that) it was a MAJOR let down. I there's nothing going on within the first thirty minutes that is truly attention grabbing. The jump scares are super predictable, and they tried a little too hard with the humor that falls so short. It's a predictable film, and really isn't worth the watch even for someone who enjoys the "terrible" horror films.
