Shut In (2022)
Single location movie done right
The Daily Wire tends to promote the Christian conservative values instilled in their movies as much as the general content. I think that's poor marketing. While it does have those values it doesn't overwhelm the content. The movie is a nail bitting suspenseful movie that doesn't hold back. Rainey Qualley absolutely knocked her role out of the park. The desperation and determination to protect her kids could not have been any better unless it was a real situation. I think a movie that is filmed in one location will test the writer and without care it can get boring. The plot and script of this draws you in and keeps you engaged. Loved the movie.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Fun and entertaining
The movie was an overall joy to watch. It was well shot, well produced, and well written. The story line seems to what to pay tribute to the original and leave ties to its roots. The movie had a Michael Bay movie feel towards the end that seemed the intense action seems to out weigh a quality script and a couple times got an almost predictable turn. I do think that that is forgotten due to the first 75% of the movie being well written and a quality ground work laid that leads in to it. This is a great choice for a movie if you are wanting to have a fun movie night that with get the ole heart pumping.
Send Me (2022)
Powerful and chilling
I heard about this documentary and thought it will be worth the watch, but it probably is going to be similar to what you heard on the news. It was only a year ago. Well what you heard from coverage seems to scratch the surface. These men fill in every gap from the formation of the team to the time they left in a deeper way than expected out of a hour film. The film was produced well and had a raw feeling to it that makes you feel their emotion. While they did voice some frustrations with the situation, they did not drop to blaming politicians, and instead praised the ones that did what they could to help.
