House of the Dragon: The Black Queen (2022)
Disappointed? well idk
A very good ending for the season but i have my complaints to be honest...
I would say that this was a "cheap drama" used to introduce one of the most hyped events in the world of ASOIAF, i mean there were many options to start it but you chose at the end to start it "by mistake"? Oh come oooon we waited too much for this. And i saw that many people ar saying in IMDB that this was how it started on the books but everyone of the books readers are saying that this is wrong and this scenario never happened in this way at least in terms of characters choices and intentions.
I praised the writing enough during the past reviews but in this one nope they made the wrong call at least for me and that's not because we compare between the books and the tv adaptation but because it really felt unlogical!
BUT STILL WAITING FOR SEASON 2 WITH PASSION.
House of the Dragon: The Green Council (2022)
Thank you HBO and George for everything
Can't praise enough this world that every episode gives us this feeling that you can't explain but you just know that you love it and this feeling alone is enough to make something that you rarely do and rate most its episodes 10\10
So that's why i want to praise someone who people usually forget about and that person is the music composer Rami Djawadi who gives us these amazing soundtracks that always penetrate our hearts before our ears.
I only hope that the next episode which will be the last one from this season will give us a good ending that makes us invested enough to be waiting for season 2 and from what we've seen for now i have faith on the team working on this show much more than GOT
KING OF EP 8 VS QUEEN OF EP 9... WHICH ONE YOU CHOOSE?
House of the Dragon: The Lord of the Tides (2022)
Acting at its peak
Paddy Considine carried this episode but he was exceptionally good since the beginning and he represented Viserys perfectly at all the ages and he exploded in acting at the king's worst days and sickness... What a walk, what dialogues, what representation of pain, illusions and fatigue! Just for this role the actor doesn't only deserve an Emmy award or an Oscar, he deserves a special award for house of the dragon.
But still let's not forget the hard work of the makeup team and the cinematography that showed us the sickness and its horrific effect on king Viserys so it's unfair to say that the acting alone carried this iconic episode it's more of a team work!
THE BIG GAME IS CLOSER THAN EVER.
House of the Dragon: Driftmark (2022)
Tensity at its maximum
George R. R. Martin brings horror and darkness into happy events and celebrations so what about a funeral where horror and darkness should be lol.
As always things escalating episode after episode and we are always left in the end of the season on a painful cliffhanger. But let's talk about the cinematography and leave the storyline aside because ASOIAF storyline doesn't need review we all know it's one of the best. Do anyone see Vhagar more realistic than some people i know in real life? Do anyone see how magnificent the backgrounds, the locations design and the cultural significance in the funural are?
THE DANCE IS COMING SOON.
House of the Dragon: The Princess and the Queen (2022)
Filmmaking students should study this timeskip!
We knew since they announced the cast of this show that we will have timeskips and maybe big timeskips and i will not gonna lie this was something to be afraid of because timeskips usually don't go well in TV shows and movies but thsi one was very fluent that it felt as we were not 10 years later! The one shot scene at the beginning was very smart so that we get attached to the new actress, the recall of the important events that happened in these 10 years step by step was perfectly made, and it is very important to say"important" events because they really gave us what is important to know and they skipped the details that will not affect the plot.
THIS SHOW CONTINUE TO AMAZE!
House of the Dragon: We Light the Way (2022)
Best episode yet
William Shakespear once said: "When sorrows come, they come not single spies. But in battalions!"
THis is the best episode in this show till now... not for the shocking events or for the dramatic plotwists, but for how much the writing and the succession of events was well made and organized, and for how much the acting was magnificent in terms of dialogues and especially changing facial features depending on the tension of the acts. Not gonna skip also the perfect filming and positions of the camera that made us feel that we are present during the events and that made perfect path to pass the tension for us.
ICONIC MOMENTS IN TELEVISION ARE MADE BY A TEAM NOT A PERSON.
House of the Dragon: King of the Narrow Sea (2022)
Not what we expected... but not bad
As we all heard the critics about this episode from people who watched it before it's been aired we thought that this would be the best episode in the show till now. But the praising was very exaggerated for an episode that i would say it's "very good" and not much more. My problem in this episode is that for the first time in the show i felt that we are slowing the pace a little bit more than needed: in ASOIAF world the pace is usually slowed for a valuable reason but in this one it felt that it was a little bit for fan-service and some sexual content. But i rated this episode higher than last one because of the good dramatic concepts happening especially in Daemon's and Otto's character lines
FEELING SOMETHING BIG HAPPENING NEXT.
House of the Dragon: Second of His Name (2022)
The war of fan service
The first part of the episode is amazing in terms of drama and the timeskip was very well made and didn't make us get out of the vibe that the first 2 episodes prepared for. But my problem started with the second part in the stepstones and how much this war that they hyped us for since the beginning was lame and awfully made! I understand that they don't have much time for these events and all of this is just a preparation for the dance of dragons but come on we loved this world in GOT and in this show for its logic and realistic mechanism in a world build of fantasy, that's why we like ASOIAF but the last scene really was disturbing in this term
STILL WATCHING AND GIIVING A NEW CHANCE.
House of the Dragon: The Rogue Prince (2022)
Amazing beginning of the plot complications
This episode is very well written and it started to draw the lines of the characters personnalities and intentions in a very good way that showed us that these writers are different, they really care about the story and they have passion for it and for now i am not seeing any signs of something happening like the ending of GOT. We can't know for sure what will happen next but we can only hope that they stay on this rythm. I know i am repeating myself but the makeup on this show is phenomenal!!! And i am talking exactly about the stepstones and how they showed us the terror of the crabs feeding and another iconic scene is the dragonstone "fly between the clouds".
I AM VERY INVESTED NOW.
House of the Dragon: The Heirs of the Dragon (2022)
Best possible debut
After watching the episode i tried to search for something to declare as "the reason i gave it a 9 out of 10" but to be honest everything was made perfectly from the makeup to the costumes design to the cinematography to the writing to the cast performance... But the dragons design is what amazed me what an upgrade from game of thrones to this! Don't get me wrong i don't blame game of thrones production because in the end of the day we are in 2022 and the production surely became more advanced but this looks so real that it felt as if they bringed real dragons! And not only the dragons even the locations they chose real GOT feelings and they made very good job in remakimg the same fantasic atmosphere.
FIRE WILL REIGN!
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Marvel drama becoming better and better
Even after the sad news about the death of Chadwick Boseman people still putting very high expectations for the movie but i totally understand the writers and still despite the challenges they made very good job!
Drama at its pick, best performance of the cast, excellent visuals despite people talking about bad visuals in She Hulk series but in this movie the CGI was excellent!
I want to praise Angel Bassett and her performance as Ramonda what a underrated actress, same goes for Letitia Wright and many others... Females really carried the movie for the first time in the MCU.
Maybe this one is probably personal because i like M'Baku as a character but i felt Winston Duke performance was amazing also.
RIP CHAD THIS ONE IS FOR YOU.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Not a disappointment but didn't reach the expactations
I heard that this movie is related to Wandavision series and i didn't watch the series so maybe i missed some details but what i am sure of is that this movie clearly missed a lot of important details and it looks very fast paced which is not a good thing for a movie with that much of events. Sam Raimi is not a new face for me because i watched his Evil Dead movies so i expected the good makeup and the horror feeling it will give.
Not only the makeup even the visuals are amazing so it is a good step up for the movie especially that green screen and CGI are used in the whole movie.
The whole cast did their job well and Benedict Cumberbatch was in for the challenge of playing many characters and he didn't disappoint. But the real star of the night was Elizabeth Olsen and the value she gave for Wanda's character which makes me think that its time to watch Wandavision series.
THANK YOU.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Fan-service at its best
I will not talk about the movie in its dramatic and nostalgic aspect because i think many people already mentionned everything about that but let's not forget that a lot of the MCU fans are watching it for the action, the storyline, the CGI... and i understand that people "can overlook these things for the joy and feelings it gave in the other hand". But sorry i cannot give it a 10 out of 10 just for that not onle because i do not come from the era that people waited for the movie to remember but also because i am a fan of the MCU and i want the best for this universe and thsi movie to be honest have its cons in term of writing and unlogical actions but very enjoyable in general
THANKS.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
New member but kinda different!
I said in my early review that i didn't enjoy Black Widow that much and it felt like an episode from a show not a movie... but this one satisfied me enough. It has some cons but it's enjoyable and the fighting scenes are well made ! The actors made good job and especially the one who plays Katy, what a good choice she looks like this is her real personality! The soundtracks are amazing and a good mixing between asian music and hiphop. Good linking with the MCU at the end, and what a smart move from Marvel to leave this link to the end so that action movies fans from outside the MCU community can watch it without any problem.
THANK YOU.
Black Widow (2021)
Not the best start for the new saga
I understand that this movie came after the iconic infinity saga and fans expectations became very unrealistic but come on i am very easy to please... I mean i enjoyed Captain Marvel movie despite the hate it received but this one is really bad, or i would say the word "cheap" instead. First i want to say that the actors really made their best especially Scarlet that as always gave the proper performance and this is my first time seeing Florence Pugh on the screen and i would say she deserves all the recognition she had at least on her performance in this movie. But the best thing that happened in this movie is David Harbour and his "comedic antagonist" role in the story that we don't usually see in the MCU.
But still the story itself is very basic and the confrontation between the two fighting sides is not a good farewell for black widow which is one of the first avengers and such an iconic character deserves better than that.
THANK YOU.
