Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)
Rewatch
I rewatched Buffy recently, you know just because. This was my 2nd rewatch (I've watched 3 times altogether)
I was luckily enough to be one of those teens that got to see it originally back in the late 90s.
The show stands the rest of time and is more important than ever for young people to watch.
It's a show about everything and anything, covers so many topics that still stand today. Adversity, addiction, bullying and LGBTQ.
Buffy maybe the lead, but this is an ensemble cast who all bring their own magic to the show.
I know there have been things about the showrunner, but I would urge you to forego that and still watch.
My only negative would be that season 8 didn't get made into a TV show and is only available in comic book form.
Ruby Speaking (2023)
Awesomeness in a call centre!
Such a wonderful show I really enjoyed it and can't wait for series 2.
The ensemble cast were excellent and you could really feel their chemistry of workplace banter and friendship.
The character of Ruby is a delight, it's great to see a plus size women with a quirky fashion sense on TV. We need more of this as this actually reflects real life. I adored her interactions with the callers and wish all call centre employees were like this. Down with the bots!!!!!
It was heartwarming, funny and lovely to see the Bristolian accent in all its glory!
I would thoroughly recommend this show to all.
Hullraisers (2022)
A grower
This show grows on you.
I had avoided this show as it looked rubbish. However after watching a clip I decided to watch all the episodes in one.
They were thoroughly enjoyable and easy to watch. The laughs were subtle but they are there.
The characters are well developed and they work well together as a big family.
I hope I see more episodes and series in the future.
The Larkins (2021)
Wonderful
I think this show is wonderful.
It's a lovely bit of nostalgia perfect for a Sunday evening.
I'm not worried about some of the ethnicities changing as I don't feel it gets in the way of the stories.
