The Legend of Tarzan (2016)
Tarzan Is A Fantasy. This One Delivers.
The Legend Of Tarzan was a long time coming and I'd say it was well worth the wait. For the first time since the silent movies have we seen Edgar Rice Burroughs' iconic character so faithfully brought to the screen.
Tarzan is a fantasy. Like any fantasy film, CGI is necessary. Using CGI, director David Yates was able to have his characters interact with the wild beasts of the jungle, rather than resorting to using stock footage of animals, as they did in the old Tarzan films, just to add screen time.
The negatives for this movie, in my mind, are minor and mentioning them here would constitute spoilers. This movie boasts a solid, original story with plenty of drama and lots of action.

A Fair Thriller - Not Bad
Some people on these boards really ripped this film and its directer a new orifice. And to their point, it is really not a very good film, but nor is it all that bad. It does lack a high degree of tension and that's what it needed. More tension. But I and my wife were fairly entertained and the actors did a good job. Someone said that the boy, Cole Coker, was the best part of the movie. I disagree. His performance was flat. What amused me was in the closing credits the disclaimer that "... any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental". The Obama lookalike as the president was "purely coincidental'? Really? bOb
