Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback (2022)
Epic finale for the most Epic Season ever
I'm sorry for the people who are disappointed about missing deaths or just annoyed because Eddie died and he was your favourite character. Let me tell you this: you never, EVER gonna see anything this epic for a very long time so you better enjoy it.
And everyone talking about characters but can we take time to appreciate the script the music and the SHOTS???
When the mix of Running up that hill started I got chills all over my body. It was the most epic scene I've ever seen my entire life. Our heroes confronting the "same" enemy from different perspectives and The shots on Vecna's on fire was so powerful I cannot even describe it. The music pausing and coming back in the right moment was damn perfection.
Now you want to talk about the characters let's do it.
Every character this season had their time and scenes and the conclusion was a perfect fit for them.
Nancy taking the final shooting was meant to be. Even if Vecna's not dead, Nancy was the one who had to be in the front line, like in all seasons.
Robin and Steve dynamic and being on Nancy's side was also really powerful.
Although I think Mike's character taken a bit too long to do the speech, Eleven needed to hear it. She was abused and being bullied her entire life, she needed to hear that she's loved for who she is no matter what, giving her the strength to be a badass one more time.
Dustin and Eddie's friendship was also one of the best things happened this season and their Metal Concert? WOW. Just wow. The fact that Joseph Quinn actually played the guitar is a bonus point. Eddie's evolution throughout the season was a beautiful thing to watch and his final speech in Dustin's arms broke me in tears.
"I love you man" was improvised so we need to thank Joseph for that and it added more depth on the last moments.
Lucas Sinclair, hands down one of the best characters in the finale. We see him throughout all the season struggling on who he wants to be and he confronting Jason who's clearly stronger than him and with a gun. He's silent conversation with Max is one of my favourite things of the episode. They're so beautiful to watch together. And in Max's last moments the actor was phenomenal! I felt all the pain throughout him. I cried more than ever in that moment.
Max's character this season is hands down my favourite. Her speech in order to being taken by Vecna was so real and I felt it through my skin. She sacrificed herself for everyone and tried to resist so many times I cannot even count. Her saying "I don't wanna die, I'm not ready" was so heartbreaking and yet so powerful that it hits you like a train and make you think about life.
Last but not least Vecna. I'm obviously on Eleven and the squad's side but Vecna was the best character that happened this season. Jamie Campbell Bower deserve an Oscar for it. You're not changing my mind. Talking about beautiful shots and lights and colours, when we see he's controlling the mind flayer and he's shaping it into a spider look like I got chills. Breathtaking. He's character he's just so powerful and so evil that you can't beat him.
There's so many other things to say, honourable mention to the sequence where the portals are opening and merging it was so intense I got chills again, but I'll stop here.
Just watch it and appreciate the entirety of it and you'll love it.
Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area: Episode 1 (2022)
Absolutely not worth it
For fans who have watched the Spanish version is definitely a waste of time. 90% of the characters and twists are exactly the same and Therefore if I already know the entire plot and character so there's no entertainment.
Also the chemistry between the actors is nowhere to be found, only reason I kept watching the first episode is Park Hae Soo who has proved to be an incredible actor in Squid Game, but he cannot be the only reason to watch a series.
First Kill (2022)
Cast is hot but not the plot
I really really wanted to like this show because of the LGBTQ+ representation and the vampires/supernatural context.
I couldn't. The only episode I enjoyed was the last one and after that I wouldn't even want Calliope and Juliette together anymore.
Let's start from the beginning
Why episode 1 was so rushed and with too loud music?? I feel like that episode should have been the last one. WHERE IS THE SLOW BURN? Where is the built up of their chemistry and feelings for each other's?
At this point people are saying "c'mon it's interesting, not curious where this is going?" Sure yeah, let's continue.
Then episode by episode was full of plot holes and so rushed I cannot even summarise what happened and why. I have so many examples but these are few of them
First of all Elinor can use speed but she never use it when she actually SHOULD USE IT??
Episode 1 they make out so hard they hit the cherries.. now when Cal stabbed Jules and she fell on the floor, where the hell are the cherries???
Episode 5 "monster bell?" Wait so people know about supernatural beings? Since when?
Ben changes his hair colour and the next episode he's back again with his original colour?? I mean, REALLY?
So all this time families try to kill each other's and then Cal is inviting Jules because her parents CAN HELP HER??? SERIOUSLY?? I thought the story was involving around the fact they cannot be together because of their families but I must have missed something.
Last episode Elinor is able to compelling people so why she's so worried about being in prison?
Last but not the least in episode 7 Cal's saying Jules's heart is safe with her FOREVER and the next episode she's swearing she's gonna spend her life trying to find a way to KILL HER? I mean you're mad but that's too much. There's no coming back from a statement like that I don't want them together after that. Not ever again.
So much wasted potential.
Sarah Catherine Hook was actually a good representation of a messy lesbian/girl and Aubin Wise such a strong mother/woman and the cast in general wasn't bad, not here to complain about the chemistry or the acting but the script was awful, terrible.
It's such a shame cause if this was one of the many wlw content we have I wouldn't have cared. I'm so pissed. This was our chance to open the door for many other wlw shows and I'm not saying it should have been Stranger things 4 level but we needed to capture straight audience! And the only way to do that is a good script. And this wasn't. If it get renewed I'm really praying in any language possibile that they change the writers. Cause this ain't working.
