Mouna Ragam (1986)
A Gem. Derserves more than 10 rating
This is movie that made first impact on me. Made me fall in love with movies and appreciate the way to experience watching a movie. In those days itself when an independent woman questions her parents about the society norms and how it affects her, it makes us agree more to that. Marriage is indeed a sweet but scary concept atleast in India because and girl and boy barely know each other before marriage. How the an independent girl deals with it and how an understanding husband has to take the consequences and explain to her and understands her and takes responsibility is soo soo beautiful. Mohan's character is like a dream husband character and Revathi is the lively person with more excitement and clever but understands late. I feel i have learnt something after watching the film. It is in a way inspiring film. Makes us question, makes us think, makes us angry, makes us romantic, makes us want to watch it again and again.
Ullam Ketkumae (2005)
Beautiful characters, great film, Makes you relive college life
It is a tale of a group of friends and how their lives are after they settle in different careers. They understand each other so well which makes us understand them very well too. When asin makes the decision we know why she made it. When shyam talks emotionally on the last day, we call have tears in eyes since we travelled their college life too. The sheer innocence and truth in the love of laila for shyam is sooo sweet. It is wonderful how puja inspired arya eventhough it was tough because she knows the value of his talent. Every character is so beautiful you feel you are one of their friend. Lovely feel watching it.
Tholi Prema (1998)
True Love + honesty in a well said tale
Family of the boy and girl plays a key role in the film making it real and close to our heart. These days we dont even know who the girl parents are she just says in one dialogue about them, but in this movie the revealing of her life is beautiful. How the girl values relations and why she is the way she is we will understand. Same with the guy, we do understand him his brothers, sister, grandfather everyone. It is a beautiful journey to travel with the characters in the film coz they are all so beautiful even Balu's friends. Such a sweet and honest movie it is with lovely music. So refreshing and climax is inspiring too.
Badri (2000)
Love, Pain and understanding explained
When the actor feels pain, we feel too. That's how honest and true pawan is to the character. The one dialogue he said with pain and anger 'nuv nandha aithe ne badri badrinath aithe enti' till now we can hear it clearly when we remember the movie. The fight sequences are shot truly as well no unnecessary elevations. We can see what a man truly felt throughtout the movie. It was funny witty emotional romantic and beautiful movie.
Manam (2014)
Stays with you for longer time
Manam is a beautiful movie touching the heart. Music helped enhance the feel of the movie. Movie enhances the family values in a sweet emotional way. We do feel connected to some people really quickly and that feel with some of them cannot be expressed what it is, may be we connect with them from previous life. Universe is just beautiful and connected. Such a good feel movie.
Aruvi (2016)
Should be watched without seeing reviews for best experience
This masterpiece is an experience that we get to feel as we travel with Aruvi's character. It may be simple to tell to someone what it is about but then whole experience of watching it is destroyed. If nothing is told or heard and you watch the movie it is an amazing ride!!! Great to have watched this gem.
Pariyerum Perumal (2018)
A story/direction that will shake you the way you dont forget
I watched in 2018 and sometimes still the blue karuppi flashes in my mind if i think about it. The feeling or experience of the movie is a part of me now and stays with me. Such a beautiful movie, everyone in the movie believed it and lived it. Kathir was so true to his character, i cannot just come out of it. Am so glad i watched it. Thanks to Mari Selvaraj.
