The Worst of Evil (2023– )

Best Series of 2023

This is by far the best series of the year. It blows everything else out of the water. The writing was incredible, and the acting was superb. Throughout the entire series you feel connected to the characters, you understand them, you feel their tension, and as a viewer you feel your own. Never a dull moment in this entire show. If you're a fan of crime thrillers and action, put this on the top of your list.

The quality of this was a step above many other series I've seen. It was on the same level as Signal in the sense. I've seen the male lead other shows, and my favorite was Healer. You can see here just how much he has grown as an actor I felt like I watched a 12 hour long A-list movie. At this point I think Korea has taken the lead on producing some of the television series in the world.

The show sets the bar so high that I feel we won't see another one like this for a long time.

A Time Called You (2023– )

First 2 Episodes are slow. Then it's great.

Six episodes in right now and this is a terrific show. Enjoying each one. I almost didn't make it past the first two tough, they were slow and confusing but it gets better incredibly fast. The acting is very good, writing is great, and the mystery is intriguing. Time travel here is done differently than I've seen before which is a good change of pace. As it's checking all these boxes it's also sets a theme that's important- being positive is a choice and your internal perception of the world can truly influence the energy of those around you and keep you from achieving the things you want in live. Worth the watch, give it a shot.

Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009)

Terrific Show.

Saw the entire show once before back in like 2010. Now I'm watching it again and my wife who's never seen it or into sci-fi stuff is hooked too.

Acting is great, writing is great, special effects hold up. Even if it was made today in 2023, it would be one of the best tv shows ever made.

In terms of quality it's up there with Breaking Bad, Season 1 of Lost, Game of Thrones, etc. Top tier.

Watch the miniseries first, then just dive into season and enjoy. This show makes you think and you'll root for characters you wouldn't expect to be your favorites. The strangest part is that this could in some ways foreshadow what could wait for humanity as continue to develop AI with near zero oversight and controls.

Prey (I) (2022)

Ignore the salty reviews, this was an awesome movie.

This is a work of fiction- that means that certain things aren't going to be realistic. Like perhaps an Alien being dropped off on Earth simply to hunt. Instead of calling that farfetched the reviewers here are getting politically motivated and complaining about some idiotic stuff.

Here's the legit truth. Great acting, incredible scenery, story was well written, it's gripping and intense throughout, the CGI looks great, the dog was awesome too. Overall, if you want to enjoy the best Predator movie since the original with a great lead actress and an awesome lead doggo, look no further and watch this movie. For what it set out to do, this is a solid 9/10. I think you'll enjoy it, and the test of a good movie? I would watch it again.

12 Monkeys (2015–2018)

Season 1 was terrific!

Season 1 is amazing, Season 2 is pretty good. I'm in the middle of Season 3 now and want to give up on it but am doing my best to finish.

Cassie's character is unfortunately not very interesting anymore. Her acting is great but the writing is losing me. Episodes in mid season 3 have all been dragging the same plotline without anything interesting or surprising happening.

I will do my best to finish and leave an update but my immediate advice would be to call it quits somewhere before Season 3.

Mulan (2020)

Don't trust these reviews, just watch the movie.

It's a great movie, action throughout and a fun watch overall. I'm not sure what these other reviews are complaining about. The characters were good, story was good, cinematography was great, acting was great, fight sequences were fun. I think these other reviewers are just expecting the world and love being negative. I enjoyed it and hope they make a sequel down the road.

Breaking Homicide (2018–2019)

Intriguing and Real

This is a pretty damn interesting show. In a nutshell they walk you through a cold case investigation and attempt to determine who was responsible. I feel that they uncovered the right suspect in Episode 1 and I'm looking forward to the rest of the first season (I'm on the 4th episode now). I can't stand seeing these ridiculous comments about thinking that the investigators are disingenuous and that Derrick shedding some tears was fake. I see nothing fake about it; he grew up in the area, knew the mother, and had to tell her about these tragic things that happened to her daughter while he himself can relate as he's a father.

Looking forward to seeing Derrick and Kris investigate more cases which hopefully leads to some being closed and justice / closure for the victims families. Thanks to I.D. for picking up this show and thanks to D and K for doing their work, it's appreciated by a lot of us.

The Secret Circle (2011–2012)

Definitely one to check out

Great show - It keeps you interested, has a great story so far and definitely looks like it will be around for a while. I used to be a Smallville fan and I've just been searching for something that had some of that superpower supernatural stuff in it. This has delivered so far - I'm diggin it.

It's not dramatic just to be dramatic.. like some other CW shows - but this actually has meaning behind it since it's an interesting plot. The only potential downfall would be that they screw up the story, right now I say they have the right cast, they have the right crew, and they have the right writers.. but I've definitely seen it happen before.. the writing eventually takes a downfall..

For now. They're doing it well. So If you're into some sci-fi, some drama, and a hot lead who can act..

Watch it.
