The premise of a pensioner using his free bus pass to travel the length of Britain using provincial buses is an excellent one. A showcase for the beautiful countryside and to be for we do get beautiful shots of the Scottish highlands. Sadly that's where the beautiful sweeping landscapes seem to end.
Sadly this film failed to create any anticipation of the epic journey. It's a stumbling story full of vagaries and cliched characters. I so wanted to invest in the journey but we don't find out why he was undertaking the trip until the second half of the film and sadly we never really learn where how well he is progressing or where he is.
The credibility aspect is questionable culminating in a reveal that various members of the public had been documenting his journey along the way on Social Media. I dint find the climax that warm in the end. It wasn't even Land's End but then again he didn't appear to start at John O'Groats either. The only heartwarming scene was at the church graveside in Cornwall. Overall it missed the target by some way.
