With so much darkness hanging over the LGBTQIA community right now, finding something like this to watch was so wonderfully refreshing. The story is simple but the humor is whip fast! I also really dug the chemistry between the two leads and was so happy they got their happy ending (which I just desperately needed to see right now) the reveal of the Aunt's secret wasn't totally surprising, it's not unknown that a members of the queer community died in terrible ways in the 80s and it was very much covered up by aus police. But it still got me in the gut. Overall this was a wonderful viewing experience and I very much recommend to anyone who is looking for a bit of joy right now!

Love an Irish queer film!

Really loved this gentle film and a twist on a trope that is normally dominated by heterosexual narratives. Both the young actors are great with an excellent supporting cast. There's a beautiful use of a U2 song that I found surprising and definitely sprung on the tears. Would recommend.

Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes this felt a bit 'too' real. The utter heartbreak and devastation of loosing your best friend to a relationship is a feeling that is so relatable yet hardly ever explored on screen. The performances are all great and really loved the script. I wish the finale had featured the friends more and wasn't set in New York with a new romance . BUT other than that I really enjoyed this series and have to soundtrack on repeat.

Pretty good!

Enjoyed the 'crime thriller in a small package' concept of this one! Yes, obviously you can get more out of a longer series, but this one is perfectly satisfying. Good performances and visually interesting to look at.

I found this film to be perfectly nice, but maybe just a little lacking in chemistry or spark? I think the concept is great and was really nicely made. But just missing something. However will continue to be a die hard Alice Wu fan.

Im on a bit of an 'Australian Web Series' journey and stumbled across this one. I love that it's a queer story that isn't a romance (not in the main story anyway!) I thought the humor was slick and totally different to anything I had really seen before, performances and writing were the highlight. Ps Justice for Justine!

Oh! It's a remake

I really enjoyed this one, it's one of the better Australian shows to have come out in the last few years, and thanks to performances of its cast it really soars! I didn't realize it was a remake until I googled the show and I wonder how much of it was original additions and how much was pulled from the original. But all in all it's really enjoyable! Just give Hugo the logie now.
