Dumb Fun
2 November 2023
I recently watched the FNAF movie, and I had a great time with it!

Now, does that mean it was a good movie? Ehhhh...

First of all, I should clarify that I'm not really into FNAF. I know it involves animatronics and a killer who targets children, and now those children are the animatronics who, in turn, go after other kids while pretending to be animatronics... yeah.

I should also point out that I'm not a fan of horror in general. I enjoy intense movies, but watching a film about a demonic-looking creature brutally attacking someone isn't my cup of tea. However, in the case of this movie, aside from some corpses and intense scenes, it wasn't all that scary. Maybe I'm not a fan of horror because I don't understand the appeal of wanting to be scared. Many scenes that were meant to be frightening came across as laughable. I found myself chuckling during most of the "scary" scenes, which were essentially lame jump scares you might see in a Halloween candy commercial. If you're easily frightened, your experience might be different from mine, but it seems many people share this view, so I'll consider this as a feature, not a drawback.

In general, this movie felt strange yet oddly uneventful. Despite throwing a lot at the audience and being based on FNAF, which is known for being unsettling and scary, the movie surprisingly had a lighthearted and slow pace.

Furthermore, it didn't feel like much of a FNAF movie. It seemed like a mishmash of various ideas vying for attention. A significant portion of the movie had little to do with FNAF, focusing instead on a character named Mike who tries to rediscover parts of his childhood through lucid dreaming or something similar to find out who kidnapped his brother. The movie also delved into Mike's struggle to gain custody of his little sister, Abby. If you're wondering, yes, this is supposed to be the FNAF movie, and we still haven't even touched on the animatronics.

So, if you're wondering how any of this connects to the game, well... Mike takes a job as a security guard at Freddy Fazbear's. That's about it. Did you expect something more complex?

From there, Mike discovers that this place is much weirder than he anticipated ....FNAF. You know what FNAF is. If you're still reading and don't know what FNAF is, I'm not sure why you're here reading this in the first place. But you're welcome to read my review anyway.

The biggest problem with the movie is its scattered plot. As I mentioned earlier, many plot points don't seem to come together until the climax. The movie itself moves at a very slow pace, and while the plot isn't necessarily bad, it tends to drag. While I was interested in the characters and their stories, many scenes felt dull. A lack of tension and conflict permeated much of the movie, with characters aimlessly wandering through scenes, waiting for something interesting to happen. One of the issues is that the movie doesn't fully utilize the fact that it's a FNAF movie. I know I've mentioned this multiple times in this review, but the lack of balance in how the movie incorporates FNAF elements disappointed me. In the first act, the film hardly seemed to care that Michael was working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. It's frustrating to see how the third act rushes to combine all these conflicts, making you realize the untapped potential this movie had.

Due to the poor pacing, many moments don't make sense either because they are too slow to care about or too rushed to explain what's happening.

As I mentioned, I was intrigued by Mike's internal conflict and his relationship with Abby. While these aspects didn't have a strong organic connection with Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, I appreciated how the movie slowly integrated multiple ideas. However, it didn't go far enough. The climax felt rushed, resolving all the setup from the rest of the movie in less than 15 minutes. It was enjoyable, but I couldn't help but recognize that the climax could have been more complex and explored in greater depth.

Despite my criticisms of the script, I have to admit that much of what I described was actually quite fun. There were scenes that were boring, but there were also genuinely interesting moments. The characters were well-developed; Mike had enough personality to make me root for him, Abby was endearing, Vanessa was likable, and the animatronics themselves were fascinating. I'd like to discuss the main villain, but I want to avoid spoilers, and he's barely in the film, just as I mentioned earlier, the climax was rushed. The acting, while not exceptional, was competent, and the charisma of the actors added to the movie's enjoyment. The animatronics themselves were well-executed with the use of practical effects, and Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria as a location struck a perfect balance between being a child-friendly pizzeria and a sinister, mysterious, and eerie place. From the colorful main stage to the grimy security room and the dark hallways, the setting felt complete. The film's soundtrack, featuring appropriate licensed songs and a memorable original score, added to the overall experience.

The editing and cinematography were impressive, with colors fitting the high-stakes yet over-the-top story. There were some great shots, especially at Freddy's. Overall, kudos to the direction department.

In the end, it's a mixed bag, offering both lackluster writing and entertaining direction. I'd give FNAF a 6/10; it's worth watching, if only to see a lady cut in half.

Identity Crisis Gem
27 May 2023
We all know who Spider-Man is: an orphan who lives with his uncle and aunt, likes photography, one day, he gets bitten by a radioactive spider and gets superpowers.

Obviously, I didn't have to tell you that. But what I would like to ask you is, what Spider-Man are we talking about?

When you think of Spider-Man, you probably remember the one from the cartoons or the comics, but most of us think of the one from the classic Sam Raimi movie adaptations . They we're fun and campy, but also intense and action-packed, and alongside movies like The X-Men movies and the Fantastic 4 movies, they popularized the comic book movie genre, that we've later seen evolve into a money printing machine back in the 2010's. They are iconic, and even while the 3rd movie got mixed receptions, the trilogy was a huuuge success at the box-office.

After the third movie made almost a billion dollars, talks for a fourth movie immediatly started, and Columbia Pictures announced on Twitter that Spider-Man 4 will release in May of 2011: "Sony Pictures @SonyPictures

Sony Pictures to release Spider-Man 4 on May 6, 2011.

6:53 PM · Mar 12, 2009"

But after a troubled production, the movie was cancelled in January 2010, and instead they decided to just reboot the franchise, with Marc Webb as director, James Vanderbilt as writer, and Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.

So, the movie came out in 3rd of July in 2012 in the US, and while it got mixed reviews, it made around 758 million dollars, successful enough to get a sequel in 2014 that I'll talk about in the future.

But what makes this movie stand out from the Sam Raimi Trilogy?

The story is pretty much the same as Spider-Man 2002: some orphan dork gets bitten by a sipder, becomes powerful, his uncle dies and then finds himself the enemy of some antagonistic scientist. There's some romance, some action, and at the end Spider-Man defeats the bad guy with the help of New York and, of course, his superpowers.

But this one is different. The tone is a litttle bit darker, the story is longer, and we get more scenes of Peter both as a teen and as a vigilante.

In my opinion, I would categorize the movie in two halfs: the first one where we see Peter's origin story, and the second half where we see him as Spider-Man fighting The Lizard.

The first half mostly consists of dialogue scenes and world building, where we see the daily life of Peter and of Dr. Curt Connors, but also how they get their powers. To be honest with you, the first hour of this movie was pretty bad. Obviously there was some good stuff, but the pacing was all over the place and the dialogue was mediocre.

-I actually like Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, he fits the bold yet nerdy personailty of our friendly neightbour, capturing the youthfulness of adolescency and I like that he was more flawed, and that he's fascinated by science and skateboarding. I just wished that his motivation was more well structured and that the transition between Peter and Spider-Man was less abrupt. Also we get more of him and his parents, but the scenes don't really go anywhere besides being loosely related to the antagonist.

-I didn't care about Uncle Ben's death, because the times where we saw him had so e really stupid dialogue. They tried to make him funny and relatable, but we don't see him form a strong emotional bond with Peter. Aunt May was a nice inclusion.

-And while I liked Dr. Curt Connors, I wish he was less of a one dimensional science guy. He came off as cartoony and annoying, and not behaving like a human being. I wish the characters behaved more like human beings in general. Overall the first half came out as pretentious and overly ambitious, trying to do too much than it could and was neccesary.

And this is where we go to the second half of the movie.

Once we get to see Spider-Man swinging around the streets, the plot starts being more straightforward. The characters' motivations becomes clear and easy to digest, the interactions are more relaxed and the tense scenes of this half are the highlight of the movie.

-Dr. Curt Connors's motivation, while arguably juvenile, it was enough to understand him, but also to become a threat to New York.

-Spider-Man's motivation is more clear, and is pretty logical since he was researched on the subject, understading the threat of The Lizard.

-Spider-Man and The Lizard have similar, interconnected backstories, making for a great conflict between the two powerful beings.

-The tone an the dialogue became more consistent, and the characters strated to have a presence

Overall this movie feels like it wanted to be so many things, but ended up a simple super hero flick, but surprinsingly unique. It has an interesting protagonist, in a threatning antanogist and some nice action and interactions. And while is not great, I still consider it a worthy addition the Spider-Man series.

Let's a go fast
7 May 2023
This is gonna be one of my shorter reviews, since the movie isn't bad, neither great.

The voice acting was surprinsingly good. Keegan-Michael Key, Charlie Day, and Anna Taylor-Joy were my favourites. Chris Pratt as Mario worked pretty well, since this is a new take on the plumber.

The visuals were good: colorful enviorements, beautiful effects and entertaining action.

T But the main problem with the movie is it's lenght. In 80 minutes, you don't get that much out of it. It feels like they had a script for a 2 hour movie , but it was shortened to not bore the kids in the audience and to save some cash.

The movie features a lot of locations, but it's pretty lackluster in it's world building since we barely spend any time in those. The dialogue is extremely limited and the scenes go by so fast, that many times, they become somewhat irrelevant to the plot. Since the characters got out of a sticky situation with so much ease, it fails to make you care about anything. How am I supposed to care for Mario since he defeats his enemies with so much ease. Same with Peach: she just gets into sticky situations, but a few seconds later she just gets out of it with the help of some deus ex machina crap.

There's no set up, no polished character arcs, there's no pay-off, no forshadowing, almost anything.

The characters are flat, boring, and lacking in personality. Their relationships don't feel authentic, cause they barely spend any time together. The movie is so short that they spend like 30 minutes togehter (in the best case scenario, sometimes it can be less than 10 minutes) and at the end you're expected to feel like they formed some great friendship, to feel that they have chemistry and things in common beyond: their humans, they want to defeat the same villain.

Also it has a lot of Mario Stuff I guess....

The reception for this movie was kinda pathetic. It was either pretentious critics, acting like this movie killed cinema or some trash, or a bunch of manchildren who need everyone to agree with them "What did you expect from a Mario Movie?". From the Mario Movie. You would expect... a movie: a story with conflicts that pay off. Likeable characters and immersive world-building. It's a movie; of course I expect to me more complex than the Mario Games.

I honestly didn't k=connect with the movie. I was just waiting for it to end. I didn't even intend to watch it until the internet decided that this is some ground breaking divisive movie. It's not. Maybe it's gonna leave a big impact on the industry, since in made over a billion dollars, but I highly doubt I'm gonna remember this movie once The Flash or the FNAF movie will come out, and people will move on to the next big shiny thing.

With both terrible and good stuff, the movie is OK: a low-key waste of time, with mildly entertaining scenes and bright colors. I don't see anyone outside of Mario Fans and Families getting that out of this.

Bitter-Sweet Slice of Life
28 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
While I'm all for reading diverse reviews of movies, this time it feels like me and eerybody else have watched different movies. Or maybe ours perspectives are just that different.

So in this review I would like to give a different perspective of this movie

First of all, the characters are complex and memorable. The two protagonists are Lica (Alexandru Ion) and Liviu (Rolando Matsangos). The two characters are polar opposites and they cover two social archetypes: Lica= The loud and arrogant yet sensitive worker and Liviu= the quiet, shy and polite worker.

Now let's dive into Lica What makes him such an interesting character that has two sides: 1. One is bold, vulgar, loud and arrogant. He claims that he has a strong sense of morality, and that he'll follow them in any situation. He's also very transparent about his beliefs, his plans, and opinions. When he encounters a person who doesn't respect him he'll get aggresive. He's not afraid to be loud and vulgar, because he thinks that he's high in the social hierarchy of the working class. Nothing new, right? But there's more; 2. His other side is pretty soft actually. He has a very fragile ego, and he'll panic whenever put in front of a threat. It's not that hard of a task to humiliate him. He's insecure, ready to humiliate somebody. And with each interation, we see hw he strugles to make himself feel good, and not accept that his childish behaivour has consequences. We also see a more relatable side of him, one that temporarily tries to makes things better.

But what about Liviu?

He's pretty much the opposite of Lica: From meeting him, we learn that he's a grounded, quiet, introverted worker that tries his best to make his life better. He's friendly and quiet inoffensive, and rejects any negative factors, both external and internal. But as the story goes forward, we see his tougher side. Unlike Lica, he is mature and has a strong set of morals. He tries to not associate himself with pleasures and be focused on doing his best work. He also strugles to keep himself together and not pop, constatly reggresing his negative emotions.. But from what? Basically, we later learn that he has a pretty depressing life. His wife, Veronica (Victoria Raileanu) lost interest in him, claiming that their romantic and sexual life is gone. She is very vocal about her desire to escape poverty and monotony. Liviu tries to hold himself together, to run from his condemnation, and to pretend that everything is fine. One scene that I want to talk about right here, right now is the final argument between Veronica and Liviu. It's an intense disagreement. Veronica talks about how she would rather be a whore in a foreign country than stay with him. And he loses it, and becomes aggresive and abusive.... Lica, being a witness to this, tries to mollify the interaction, but it's all in vain......

Second of all, let's talk about the script. The script has a shocking sense of realism. The cursing honestly, while innapropiate, gives the movie a raw view on reality. But to be fair, I understand why for some was too much. The movie was trying to present flawed, almost pathetic characters, that only ones like them would talk like that. I've heard that this movie has no story: I disagree. Instead of the characters going on a specific mission, it's a journey of viewer witnessing the characters having to deal with the reality that they refused to explore. The Starting Point would be the characters' introduction, with their masks and monotonous lifes. And the end of the journey would be the characters, being ht by reality, but they don't manage to fix their lifes, even with this lesson. Throught this entire movie, the characters have been condamned to living a hard life, and each and one of them processed this in different ways. This is obviously trying to symbolise the condemnation of poverty and how life as a taxi driver can feel like a maze with no end, no escape, no light at the end of the tunnel. So if we look from this perspective, it's not a journey of the characters, but a journey of the spectator taking a look at characters that embody average people with, unfortunately for a majority of people, average problems. It's up to the audience to deduce the message. And this is shown is the movie in a surprisingly elaborate way. For example, each client of Lica is also a way for the movie to show his personality, and how he deals with poverty. His story is more of a reality check, where his pride is smashed. His first client is a pretty soft and quiet person, easy for him to make himself look mature and successful. The next scenes feature him humilating a young woman, that is later revealed to a familiar face with a lot of authority (Maria Popistasu). She shows him a different perspective on life, one where he is the fool, where he is not mature and not successful. And just like we've said, him actually being a sensitive person, a coward, he doesn't fight back , his courage faded away and he become submissive and humiliated. From now on, he tries to mock his clients, trying to make them look foolish and to make himself look good. Of course, he is hit by reality again, the feeling being temporary.

The directing is good, the actors are good, and overall I think this movie has a valuable message, presented in a competent, admirable way.

Good drama, bad horror.
8 April 2023
Capra cu trei iezi is a romanian horror period piece featuring Maia Morgenstern and directed by Victor Canache.

This is an adaptation of the iconic fairytale from Romania 1875 by Ion Creanga. But unlike other fairytale adaptations, it's a much darker and adult take on the story.

As a drama, this movie is great. The actors bring this characthers to life in an impressive way. The movie is pretty short, each scene being relevant to the plot and I wasn't bored (almost) at all. The direction is immaculate: the editing and cinematography do a spectacular job of showing this quiet, isolated setting with a dark and misterious tone. The characthers, while barely of them likeable, have nice interactions that keep you engaged to see what will happen next

But enough with the hyperbolized praises, let's talk about the worst part of the movie: the horror element. As a horror movie, this is honestly the worst the genre has to offer. Overall tense and scary scenes are ruined by corny, out of touch editing that makes the movie feel like a parody. Characthers like Nanasu feel like carichatures, because the movie wants to take ths intimidating villain and make him some blood thristy maniac that comes off more like some Batman 1965 villain, rather than an unstoppable force. Also the characters, just like I've said, are unlikeable. And not just the villain: all of them. In this movie, unless you're a mean, grumpy person or downright a piece of trash, you have little to no power in this world. The mother is always angry and mean to her kids, sometimes even to the little kid who is presented as a pure heroic underdog. And I know that her older kids are mean pieces of rubbish too, but when they're eventually killed, it doesn't really feel like they're the victims 'cause 1. They're unlikeable, non-relatable brats and 2. They pretty much guilty of their deaths. And of course I'm sorry, but if the movie put them in a somewhat more positive spot, their deaths would've felt much sadder, since the audience had an emotional connection with them.

So yeah, it's flawed, but I don't think it's bad like others say.

So bad it's goo.... Nah it's bad
7 April 2023
Pup-o Ma 3 is a Romanian comedy, released in February 2023, and shortly after on Netlfix, on April 1st, probably 'cause nobody wanted to watch this movie in theaters.

I don't know about you, but the second movie sucked big time. Gave up on it after 30 minutes. And I wasn't the only one who thought that. So I was surprised to see that they're making a Third movie. What was even the point of it? Even after it came out, I ignored it 'cause i expected the worst from this one.

Anyways I've decided to watch it. And.... my opinion on it is pretty mixed. I'm going to divided this review in two parts, and later end both of them with a fancy conclusion 1. The beginning of the film seemed pretty promising. The movie had like two characters that actually had stuff to do and not just stay in the background, the conflicts were pretty entertaining and overall it felt like they tried to do something different. The acting was decent and the visuals were beautiful. Nice locations, cinematography and overall directing. The movie was pretty slow paced, and each scene did it's job but also showed the characters as likeable and entertaining.

2 .But then we get to the rest of the movie. It also introduces a mistery, one that doesn't really matter until later. The movie doesn't really do anything with it's conflict until the last 30 minutes, desperately trying to wrap an overall driy plot. And the mistery is as surface level as it can get. What you see at the beginning of the movie is pretty much the whole mistery. Everything is so slow until the last 30 minutes where they introduce characters and add conflicts only too solve them 15 minutes later. And the overall reveal is so lame, it was a bad joke and nothing interesting. The movie doesn't do anything to make you care about anything. It wanted to do something different but they barely tried/

It's a shame that they had the pieces for something great but they dropped everything on the floor like some unsteady building during an earthquake. Overall I'm still looking forward towards Alin Panc's or Sandu Pop's upcoming projects. But this movie left me pretty disoriented and overall dissapointed. But what should I've expected from Pup-o Ma 3? 3?

Anyways I can't wait for Pup-o Ma 4 5 and 6 and the other two spin offs coming sometime in 2420.

Mirciulica (2022)
7/10
Did it's job i guess
11 February 2023
Scroll at the end of the review for my final thoughts

"Mirciulica" it's 2022 romanian comedy, starring Mircea Bravo (yes I'm going to use his stage name), who's also producer, writer and creator of the two iconic characthers: "Bunica" - Elena Moldoveanu and "Mirciulica" - Mircea Po.... Bravo!

This is Mircea's first film, even he admitted that this movie barely scratched the surface of what he's capable of. And this sentence will transition to arguably the most interesting subject related to this movie: the reception I remember back in October that the movie was getting pretty high reviews. The critics thought it was fine, but the audience seemed to like this movie until you've seen some of the most negative takes on this movie. If you don't like this movie, that's fine: I got better things to do than get salty over some negative reviews. I can see where they are coming from: the movie is pretty bare bones, and Mircea still needs to improve his acting skills. But this movie was never supposted to be some reformal of cinematography, neither to be some award winning masterpiece. This movie is just a fine entertaining, mildly educational piece of filmmking, that even if it attemted to make something great, it would've been too big of a task. Honestly I feel like there's a cold mentality towards Romanian movies tha I'll like to address: 1. No, of course Romanian movies don't stand a chance against Hollywood movies, this is just hypocritical. Hollywood has a century old reputation. 2. No, Romanian actors are not as good as foreign actors. Most of them are beginners, and also some of them aren't actors to begin with. 3. Just because it isn't what you expected that doesn't mean that it's trash. 4. Raunchy adult comedies have been a thing for decades. It's OK if you don't find these movies OK. While I agree that many of these movies don't need cursing, not all moves have to be kid friendly either. Sometimes a darker, more edgy take on a general subject is what you need. Also many communist Romanian movies didn't have any profanity not because that was the writers' vision, but because of the regime.

OK, let's talk about the movie itself: -The story itself follows the maturization of our protagonist Mirciulica. He's naïve and clueless and clumsy, but good heated and hard working. The selling point of this movie is his encounters with different characthers, each time learning something new, building up to it's climax where he cracks and takes matters in his own hands. Unfortunately his journey feels akward since there's no clear smooth progression.

-Most of the time he's naïve and clumsy until the script needs to, kinda blocking the script from showing it's true potential. Also yeah.... Mircea Bravo is not great actor. He kinda reminds me of actors like Rowan Aktinson and Benny Hill, who exclusively play in comedies. And whenever the script got serious, their childish behaivour added to the emotional core of the moment, mostly because the writers know that these characthers aren't mature, real peaople. Their characters had unique likeable features that made them different but likeable. Mirciulica is mostly a regular dude, that's also completely parallel to the real world and feels like he has a lot to learn. His expressions and acting kinda lean towards a manchild type of guy, and let's not forget the akward situations he gets through. But besides that he's a regular dude. He doesn't have any unique personality traits and the script does not push his childish demeanour to it's limits. He's tehnicallly a regular dude that's naive and acts akward. And the biggest problem is that whenever he has to break his character, it fails because his acting is still weird and artificial, it doesn't feel genuine. But to be fair, the movie is saved by the supporting cast of characthers. Each and one of them has a clear role it the story that they accomplish perfectly. The movie's moral lesson and it's political discussions were probably the best part of it. It opens the discussions of multiple social dilemmas that they've discussed tastefully in my opinion. The characthers, while comedic, still leave an impact to this world, having sharp personalities and fun chemistry with Mirciulica. Also the other actors do a better job then the lead which to be fair I don't know if this is a compliment or not. My favourites were Dan Chiorean & Adrian Cucu (which he's also a Stand-Up Comedian, that's probably why) -The cinematography is unfortunately pretty boring and the soundtrack consists of royalty free music that something suits the movie, sometimes it doesn't.

-I give this movie a 7/10 because it tried to make something interesting, but also having the humility to only focus on it's few strengths, making for a not perfect but memorable experience, diving into social, political and moral problems but also being a fun, stress releaving feel good movie. I had a good time and I highly recommend for a group watch.

Surprinsingly wonderful
9 February 2023
A tenacious Australian teen chases her dreams - and faces her fears - as she sets out to become the youngest person to sail solo around the world.

I saw this movie on Top 10 Netflix movies and i decided to give it a try. But it didn't hook me immediately

Initially i thought it was gonna be some cheesy feel good girl movie. And it was, but it was one of the best ones in recent years

The story needs some time to find it's footing but it's worth it. A bold, serious, gut wreching movie with great visuals and an emotion roller coaster. If you have older kids this is one of the best choices. Educational but also emotional and inspiring.

This movie is awesome
31 January 2023
I don't care about the other lack luster reviews. I had a blast with this movie. The backbone if the film were the honest characthers. The pacing, while fast at the beginning, slowly but surely becomes better and better. The story made ke care about the characthers, teared up at the end. The story itself takes full advantage of the themes and characthers, each scene adding something interesting and memorable every single time, with surprisingly interesting cinematography and nice soundtrack, making for a thematically simple but rich in affection feel good movie with heartfelt lessons, a memorable adventure and overall an experience that will make your day better.

Could've been worse. Could've been even better
23 January 2023
Could've been worse Could've been even better

"Nunti, botezuri, inmormantari" is a 2022 romanian comedy movie starring Serban Pavlu, Gheorghe Ifrim and Anca Sigartau. Directed by Alexandru Lustig and written by Adrian Lustig.

The movie tells the story of Cosmin Berinde (S erban Pavlu), who bought a land in 2007, so he can build some houses and sells them for 1.000.000 Euro. But even near him there's a loud restaurant for rent, he fights back to reach his goal, even if it messes up his entire life.

The conflict is intense, characthers are at war and each and one of them fights back in ways that you'll never have seen coming. Unfortunately the main characther, while relatable, can often become annoying and unlikeable, not letting the audience relate to his ideas

The jokes are funny and the story is overall good, but the good moments are few and far between. The movie is long, way too long. The script does not profit from it's lengthy runtime, many scenes feelling either stale or just plain unnecessary. And it's a shame, 'cause the script has it's moment: the movie can and knows how to be entertaining. And even the good stuff can become repetitive or some scenes/plot points just fade away cause nothing really happens in some scenes

I liked this movie: the director did a good job to ilustrated this tale into a fun colorful way and the humor can be good, but the movie suffers from a dry story with good elements that aren't expended enough on.

Such a disappointing movie
5 August 2022
"Odata pentru totdeauna" it's a drama starring Smiley, (a very popular romanian singer) and Ada Gales.

This movie's theme is depression and how Alex, a popular movie director (played by Smiley) and also the protagonist of the movie deals with this

Unfortunately the movie doesn't really know what it wants to be. This movie doesn't know what it wants to be in the first place. The movie wants to be a comedy, but also a drama. The movie is about depression, but the conflict is solved(somehow, its from depressed to energetic and extraverted again): Alex feels much better. They start some conflict that after like 1/2 of an hour they drop so they go back to him being depressed, even if he was fine. The characthers are also not great either. Despite his acting aptitudes, Smiley was stuck with an inconsistent character. His wife Alma(played by Ada Gales), again :good actress, bad character.

And you know what's the worst part? Is that this movie actually has some good stuff: yes! Good actors(surprisingly Smiley dis a great job with his role), good cinematography, and some good scenes. But this isn't enough to make me recommend this to you. I will give this movie a 5/10 because they at least took a risk and wanted to tell a story that isn't necessarily eye catching or in your face. Also for the good acting, good cinematography and nice music.

My favourite Romanian Sitcom

I know this show is not for everyone but I personally really like it! The characthers and the world are so iconic and it's much better from other shows like this from a technical point of view. Really excited to see where the show is going!

5Gang (2019)
3/10
My head hurts

5GANG 2019 is a film based on the very good band 5GANG ,consisting of: Andrei Selaru(Selly), Diana Condurache(DIA), Andrei Gavril(Gami), Luca Bogdan(Pain) and Madalin

The film itself is not good, but first let's talk about the good stuff (yes there is some good stuff): -some good jokes -some good shots -a good message for the younger lads -the story is ok

Now let's talk about the bad stuff:

-the characthers are one dimensional: either boring flawless idols or just downright buff0ons. Also the villains. Besides Selly and Dia ,all the members of 5GANG are presented as immature, stupid, greedy and..."funny" losers. How were people like Andrei Gavril ok with ow they were portrayed? The only characther that was actually (somewhat good) was Alinuta ,played by Julia Marcan: congratulations!

-the script is so preachy about how cO0l and interisting vloggers are and how foolish the villains are for not recognizing that: "Selly is so cool and smart and charismatic and kind-hearted"

-the jokes are unfunny and just downright cringe. They're just surface level jokes and pop culture references like; "Look at this stupid guy!" "Look at this funny guy!" "This is just like Home Alone! Don't you like that film?'

-the product placement is just irritatting. It's like in the middle of the film some Ad pops on the bottom of the shot( you know what i'm talking about if you've seen the film)

Unless you're like 10yo, i don't know what are you gonna get outta this.

I didn't hate it!

The Camp is the second installment in the 5GANG franchise, starring ...Andrei Slearu, Vali Dobrogeanu, the Munteanu brothers,Madalina Bellariu Ion and... others that i'm not gonna name 'cause this movie has like 17 characthers.

While it still has some problems: -an uninteresting story -under fleshed characthers:

It's an clear improvement over the first 5GANG : -slightly better pacing -somewhat better jokes that don't feel that "in your face" -better directing;

Also there were more interesting and, may i even say, weirder moments? With such a basic plot, moments like these were welcome and spiced up the experience.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't great. I was bored half of the time, the acting is pretty lackluster (mostly because the people responsible with the casting don't know the difference between actual professional actors and celebrities).

And ,of course, this movie includes some pretty blatant product placement. At least they weren't that bad. The first film was

Anyway, i can't really reccomend this film but it's an improvement. I guess if you ant to watch something with your kids/siblings/slaves it's ok.

Waste of time

If it wasn't for the soundtrack and the nice landscapes I would've given this film a 1/10. The characthers are uninteresting, the acting is mid, the story is boring, the structure of the narrative is messy, the jokes are unfunny and distasteful and the overall experience felt like I was wasting my time. I definitely not recommend seeing this in theaters sorry.
