En tiempo de guerra (2010)
Timely film that illustrates the cruelty endured in times of political unrest.
I saw this short film at a friend's house on DVD and was blown away by the roller-coaster of emotions that are the content and subject matter. You find yourself rooting for the main set of characters because in the short period of time you have to absorb the film as a whole the talent does a good job of helping you grow to feel the emotions that are felt by the people involved in similar scenarios all over the world today. The location was spot on and the bad guys are hate-able (What more could you ask for in an under 20 minute investment of time?) I'd really like to see more from this director, talent and crew. If you're fortunate enough to find a copy I recommend you see it, you will not be disappointed. If you can't find it then Google some of the names and see a peppering of some equally impressive works.
Deadgirl (2008)
Exceptional film that shows the depth of teenage perversion.
I saw this film/DVD at home on Netflix and though it was as brutal to watch the boring getting to know the characters parts, it was like turning away from a train wreck to muster the commitment to change the channel. The characters are low depth, the acting is acceptable and the girls are hotties. It's basically a was a "what if" that most young males have asked themselves in their own heads at least once, "what if I had a girl that was willing to have sex with me whenever I wanted in any way I want to do it with no objection" with the addition of the morbid zombie scenario. It's defiantly a non-socially redeeming film that I would recommend to my friends as purely entertaining.
