A Cold Grave (2024)
Overall fun watch
In my opinion A Cold Grave was a fun movie to watch. At the start there is a disclaimer that the film is recovered footage. Roger (Benjamin L Newmark) is searching for his missing sister Kaylee. Benjamin Newmark did a fantastic job as "Roger" and was fun to watch. He shows a wide range of emotion with his acting and overall I was impressed with him. The movie was beautifully filmed and is much cleaner than previous DBS Films. That said the reasoning for my rating was that the story line was a little chaotic and hard to follow. I left with questioning what actually happened. I also wouldn't classify this movie as found footage solely because there were many different angles and times I wondered who was holding the camera. If you are a DBS fan you will be delighted to see some familiar faces that were in other DBS films.
Jessi Who? (2021)
A Fun and Humorous Show for All
"Jessi Who" is a delightful comedy series chronicling the journey of a woman chasing her dream of becoming a comedic show host. Jessi Who, along with her eclectic group of friends, embark on a humorous and heartwarming exploration of life and self-discovery in LA. The show's charm lies in its uniquely relatable characters, with Jessi's endearing awkwardness adding a delightful touch. Randi and "the Jays", Jade and Jazmine, contribute to the show's appeal with their refreshing realism. Personally, I found the "Hellz on Wheels" and "Jessi Tries Online Dating" episodes particularly engaging, resonating with the authenticity and hilarity they brought to the storyline. The tagline for the show is "simplicity never felt so complicated" and if you watch the series or the creators QnA you will see and hear that "life is not linear" and the show highlights this beautifully. If you're looking for an enjoyable and laughter- filled experience, this is one to watch!
Horror in the Forest (2023)
This indie movie is eerie and keeps you guessing
DBS Films shines again with this new found footage horror film. In this movie you follow a group looking into the strange disappearances associated with the Rudwick forest. You watch as locals are interviewed and share their thoughts on what or who they believe are behind the disappearances. As their investigation goes on you start to wonder yourself if the witch is real or not. This was a great movie and has similar eeriness to the classic, the Blair Witch Project. Georgie, Bo and Nelson's performances were nothing short of stellar! Nelson in particular came off as sad, unpredictable and.. scary (which was perfect for this movie). The video quality looks like it has increased compared to other recent DBS Films. The SFX Makeup has also increased with some mild gore included in the movie too. I'm looking forward to more DBS films to come as they have once again left me impressed and satisfied with this indie horror movie.
Forest of Death (2023)
Shapeshifter Fans- this one is for YOU
DBS Films wows again in this horrifying story of a group of friends going to a remote cabin for a fun weekend. What could go wrong? As a skinwalker and shapeshifter story fan this one was fantastically directed and portrayed. DBS Films has stepped up in this movie. Everything from the story line, pacing, to the acting and scares is their best work to date! "Ashley's" performance was stellar, as was "Roger's." The soundtrack for this movie was enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed seeing the creature. It was horrifying. In addition I found the SFX work in this film was leagues better than other DBS movies. Regardless, I know I won't be going to those woods anytime soon. However, if you're a fan of shapeshifter stories, this is one to watch!
The Haunting of the Murder House (2022)
Good Indie Movie
Best DBS Film to date. The acting was decent and the story overall was good. Some genuine scares and a few jump scares too. A bit of gore. If you like Indie/low budget scary movies you'll really enjoy this one!
The Girl in Cabin 13: A Psychological Horror (2021)
Good low budget film
I love a low budget scary movie and The Girl From Cabin 13 delivers. The actress that plays Sunny was great, believable and fun to watch. The masks are actually pretty horrifying and something from nightmares. ** SPOILER AHEAD ** there is a scene where the masked men are using gas canisters around the cabin and some music plays, it was actually good music and great filmography here. Easily could have been a great music video!
Grandma's Boy (2006)
Stoners love this movie
This movie is a lot of fun and for me, it doesn't get old. Easily one of my favorite movies. Extremely quotable and memorable. I loved the cameos and cast. It's a silly story that gamers & stoners love.
