Ginî piggu 2: Chiniku no hana (1985)
never again but rlly well made.
Gave it a three because it was actually really well made but jfc never watching that again. As someone whose sadly seen some real things due to staying in hospitals, they did pretty well. Once again from being in a er hospital I've seen a severed finger and leg, the part where her leg was cut in half looked pretty realistic, though def didn't feel nice to see something like that again. If you've got any trauma relating to torture or blood or if you're just a normal person I wouldn't advise watching it.
Swiss Army Man (2016)
Weirdly Phenomenal
If someone asked me to describe this movie I would be at a loss, it's got a lot to it and it would take me at least an hour to fully describe it. This movie is unable to be compared to anything else, at first glance you'd be like "what even is this movie, its so weird I don't like it" but then you actually watch it... and are blown away.
The first thing I want to bring up is the soundtrack. I have never watched a movie with this kind of unique, original soundtrack. It was like no other. With my knowledge, I believe Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe were the ones singing in all of their songs (if not most of them). I would categorize them as not amazing singers, but they did so amazing that it became one of my favorite soundtracks, up to par with The Batman (2022).
The story. The only thing I can describe about this story is how it made me feel. From my interpretation, the story shows how the world and how society sees things as "abnormal" or "weird" and brings it to light how its more important to love and be yourself even if you get ridiculed. I honestly saw life in a new way after seeing this movie. 10/10 will definitely watch again.
World War Z (2013)
lady
The main guys wife has very unsettling eyes. Like fr bros eyes were social distancing, she could something we didn't. She could surveillance her surroundings without moving her head because she can see two places at once.
Saw (2004)
DISAPPOINTING
I expected more to be honest. I liked the foot scene cuz I thought it was funny but that's the only moment I enjoyed the movie. After hearing all the hype about this movie I was expecting a dark, gory, scary, mess of serial killers. I guess not, cuz that's not what I got, it was boring. I almost fell asleep while watching them get kidnapped, like they could've done so much more, in my opinion Jigsaw was weak he could've been so much more creative with his killings.
The Exorcist (1973)
Classic, but..
This movie is a classic. Don't take this personally but I thought this was the funniest movie, I consider it a comedy. When the possessed girl stabs herself in the crotch with the cross I was laughing my a** off.
The Prestige (2006)
Not My Favorite
First I just want to preface by saying this is my opinion, if you don't agree with it just ignore it. My girlfriend loves this movie so I decided to give it a shot, after watching it I was disappointed. The cinematography was great and the acting was beautiful. The plot was not my favorite, I honestly got quite bored until the ending. There were lots of time skips that make you confused as to what's happening. I wouldn't say it was a waste of time but I definitely would've been fine not watching it.
Megan Is Missing (2011)
Disturbing but good for awareness
Through the first half of the movie I was bored, I liked the concept and I heard it was creepy so I just kept watching. The moment photos 1 2 and 3 popped up I was disturbed, to think that this could've and probably has happened to a teenager is absolutly terrifying, I can't imagine how scared I would be. After that the movie just kept getting more intense by the second. The scene with Amy getting assaulted was one of those moments where you are unsure if the scene is real or fake. Her screams felt real, and although the acting wasn't amazing, that one scene got to me. Im sad they didn't have music throughout the movie but I guess it just added to the feeling of it being real. Acting would be a low 5/10 but it didn't effect my opinion of the movie too much.
The Batman (2022)
NEW GENERATION OF BATMAN HAS BEGUN
Wow. First things first I want to mention the cinematography. The use of dark light in contrast with reds and blues really set the mood and setting, beautiful. The soundtrack was beyond amazing, it put the perfect mix of dark, intense, and realistic into play and projected it perfectly. Before watching, I was a bit unsure of Robert Pattison playing batman as it was a drastic change from his usual played characters, I was 100% mistaken. He did such an amazing performance, bravo to him and I hope he gets awards for this as he most definitely deserves them. Paul Dano as the Riddler was a nice change from the usual intelligent psychopath that is portrayed. I love how he was a hermit and introverted, as well as strategic and calculated. Beautiful story that is a perfect set off from the comics as well as other pieces of cinema.
Joker (2019)
BEAUTIFUL
Joaquin Phoenix did such a amazing performance, you can tell he worked so hard to perfect Joker. It was amazing how we say Arthur Fleck slowly dissolve into chaos and get his revenge in the way he felt was right. The movie did a amazing job at portraying what its like to have a mental illness seen as crazy or insane, the way people treated him was sadly accurate to the real world. I would say this was my favorite joker, even above Heath Ledger, because I could sympathize with him, I know what its like to be seen as something abnormal and I couldn't help but root for him. This movie is my first 10/10, loved it and definitely will be watching again.
Prisoners (2013)
INTENSE
I will say I was slightly disturbed by the torture scenes, though they were so beautifully made and acted out. Paul Dano's roll as Alex was wonderful, truly amazing. Hugh Jackson did so well that when I watched another movie with him in it my first reaction was to root against him. I loved the concept and how it was played out. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
Donnie Darko (2001)
Donnie Darko, A Bizarre Masterpiece
Donnie Darko is one of those movies that seem incredibly confusing yet somehow everything ties together. The main protagonist, Donnie, is a teen boy who suffers from schizophrenia, specifically in the paranoid category. This movie ties in time travel and alternate universes in the most unusual way, they bring a psychological aspect to it. By the end of the movie the viewer is left wondering and asking many different questions, most of which I can't find the answer to.
American Psycho (2000)
8/10 Reasoning
Though the ending is ambiguous and quite confusing, I think that helps spark the interest in the movie.
Throughout the movie you watch Patrick Bateman, a quite cocky and unlikable business man go through what I'm thinking is psychosis. You watch him go from murdering homeless prostitutes, to murdering his own coworkers. Its obvious he has some deep rooting anger issues as he gets enraged at something as small as someone having a nicer business card. If you believe in the ending that it was all a delusion/hallucination then you could probably categorize him as a sociopath as he still has little to no real emotion and tends to go through life "pretending" to be like everyone else (as in feeling happiness, sadness, etc.). Even Patrick himself stated he feels nothing other than anger and disgust. This may be caused by some sort of severe personality disorder, which also would explain the hallucinations. Another theory is he really DID kill most of those people, and the reason Paul Allen's apartment is somehow empty is because it was such a prime building that if it was out there that it held dead bodies the prices would definitely have to lower. This would explain why the realter seemed weary once she noticed Patrick looking in the storage closet in panic wondering why the bodies were gone, and instead thinking "oh he must want to buy the place" she told him to leave and even tricked him into telling her he wasn't there to buy the apartment. Though this theory has a few holes in it, like why didn't he get put straight into jail after? Overall this movie was a beautiful representation of what I'm guessing is psychosis.
