I think it's pretty amusing when I click on someone's profile and they've actually written a stupidly indepth biography of themselves. Do they not ask themselves the question: who the feck cares?

Retreat (2011)
Shocked that its IMDb rating is so low...
As the title says, I am genuinely shocked that Retreat has an IMDb score of 5.7 (at the time of writing). Whilst not a terrible score, it is below the average of scores I usually see on IMDb.
Retreat was, admittedly, rather slow to get going. However I did not see this as a negative element of the film as it served to provide the back-story of the protagonists, a much needed element to discover why they were on the island in the first place. The chemistry between Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton was good, and as always they both acted their parts excellently (Jamie Bell, also, played his role brilliantly, although he will always be Billy Elliot to me!)
The film itself is brilliantly written. The dialogue is believable, and there is just the right amount of confusion and suspense building up to the twist ending.
Speaking of the ending, I genuinely did not see it coming at all, and for me it just made the film that little bit better.
In summary, it's a brilliantly acted film, it's a new twist on the whole "pandemic" concept that has come about during the last few years, and I think it definitely deserves a watch. Do not let the mediocre IMDb score put you off!
Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! (2008)
Ehhh. It was OK, I guess
ZZZ isn't the worst low budget movie ever made, by a long shot. But that doesn't mean it's good. There's plot holes galore, awful special effects, and a wooden plot line. And who knew blood could be bright pink?
The actors, for the most part, actually seem quite competent, and do their best to make this movie entertaining- making the best of a bad situation, as it were. However, the characters have no depth, and as a viewer I didn't really care whether they lived or died. Or got eaten.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend actively looking to watch this movie, but if it happens to be on, by all means watch it for a few laughs.
Night at the Museum (2006)
An enjoyable movie
I really wanted to go see this at the cinema when it came out, but due to the fact that I never have any money, I didn't. :)
But when I found out about all the legendary actors who were starring, I HAD to see it. A lot of my friends advised me not to; one girl told me that her little brother had actually walked out of the cinema because it was so bad. But still I wanted to see it, and I am so glad that I rented it, because I think it was an extremely funny movie, and not as bad as all the critics made it out to be.
Ben Stiller gave a brilliant performance as a believable character, although I was expecting him to do 'Blue Steel' at any given moment :) Ricky Gervais was great as the museum director and really came across as a stuffy English person. He's quite big over here in the UK and seeing him in a film was quite cool. The plot was fairly believable, if you ignore the fiasco with the museum exhibits, which is hard to do.
I thought that there were only 2 bad things about this movie, that prevented it from getting a 10 from me; 1) The kid. He was completely unnecessary to the plot, and did nothing throughout the whole film. I wouldn't have minded if he could act, but he was almost unbearable to watch. 2) Rami Malek (Ahkmenrah) did NOT get enough screen time. It seemed as though him and his tablet were pretty crucial to the plot at the end, and we weren't told enough about him.
But overall, a good film. My nephew enjoyed it, he's two, I enjoyed it, I'm fourteen, and my parents and grand-parents enjoyed it as well. I'd definitely watch it again. :)
