The Making of 'Purgatory House' (2005)
a documentary about a movie written by a 14 year old girl.
this documentary was just as good as the actual film. i love seeing how my favorite films come together, and this film gave just that. its amazing to see how much time and effort went into purgatory house. The music, special effects and even the duologue in this film were outstanding. seeing how all of these aspects came into play in purgatory house was exceptionally interesting!it was enjoyable to watch all of the interviews with cast and crew. as a person interested in film production, this documentary gave me everything i could have wished for. if you like purgatory house i recommend you see this movie!! you wont be disappointed!
Purgatory House (2004)
A movie written by and starring a 14 year old girl.
It's very rare that I find a movie that is so amazing that i instantly fall in love with it. It was a thought provoking intense joyride of a film. If you haven't seen it yet i suggest you do! The topics covered in this film are very deep for someone of 14, I know that when I was 14 i wasn't thinking about things like suicide and drugs I knew of them and knew what they were bur I didn't think of them enough to write an entire script based around those concepts. Celeste Davis' acting was phenomenal usually in independent films the acting is sub-par but every aspect of this movie was amazing. At times it was funny sometimes it was sad but you'll enjoy every part of it. i really liked the way that Celeste interpreted God, being an agnostic myself I am always open to others' ideas of God. Not only was God imaged as a woman but a very bright and masculine drag queen... and seeing this for the first time might come as a...surprise? but in the best way possible.
